Don´t forget: The 128-bit console era officially started four years ago today with the release of the Dreamcast.

Check out my brief ode to this late, great console on the DSP home page. And bring a Kleenex.

I had forgotten all about my most favorite console. See PK what you have gone and done? Got me all teary eyed. Seriously though, that system was way ahead of it´s time, man. It is a shame it had to pass.

You know what one of the smaller, subtle beauties of the DC was? Its small size.

The DC was small compared to the PS2 and tiny compared to the Xbox yet it ran the same-sized CD-ROMs as those two systems. I could fit my DC, games and peripherals all on one shelf of my TV stand at home. Not anymore with the Xbox!

Sure, the Gamecube is tiny, but so is its disc medium, too.
I still have my wonderful Dreamcast and to think of what it could have been it is truly sad.
This little giant was well ahead of its time and I still am pissed at Sega for not giving it the support it needed.
