Anyone up for a 50- or 100-lapper tonight at Michigan?

Just remember: YOU F*CKED ME, MAN!
No, you didn't. That was an optimistic lunge by me. I was just blowing you playful inebriated sh*t -- hope you didn't mind.
Take care,
PK

PK, you should host.
My connection is fine for participating, but generally not so good for hosting.
I was going to comment on the fact that you were clearly drinking and driving last night, but I didn't want to make any assumptions (maybe you're always unusually loud, giddy, and foul-mouthed on Sunday nights)
Are we to use that as an excuse for the MANY crashes you caused at the start of the races?
Spook. Don't worry about car setups. I barely understand the impact of the 3 items I might tweak (pressure, wings, ride height) but I can usually hold my own. Try drinking a lot before gametime as PK prescribes.

Well, that was part of it, but I was driving like a moron, too. I'll add that sleep deprivation played a part in my lack of focus, too. Been riding a lot lately and staying up late playing videogames and watching TV -- not a good combination for staying awake after midnight.
Bottom line, though: I sucked like a Hoover last night. I'll race smarter tonight.
P.S.: I'll host.
Take care,
PK

Please join us, man. Don't be intimidated by setups. I don't think any of us really tweak that much. We all stick pretty close to default.
I have a hot setup for California, but it's VERY tricky to drive because the rear of the car is bottoming constantly, killing the downforce. My California car is more skittish than a spooked cat.
Otherwise, I just make minor modifications to the front wing and tire pressures at each track, and I'll be happy to share those changes with you.
Take care,
PK

Sounds good guys. If I don't make it in time for the 50 lapper, I'll hang out for a bit then send an invite your way PK to let you know I'm online.
Setups are overrated for the most part, but PK, you were rocking at Cali last night, I had no prayer of keeping up.
I'll keep screaming RICHMOND until I'm blue in the face once we move to the 20 lapper portion of the evening!
Just me, or was last night worth the $20 for the game alone?
Dave

You cats want to run a 50-lapper followed by a series of 20-lappers, or just go with a bunch of 20-lappers at different tracks?
The majority will rule, and I'll be the host at 10 p.m.
I vote for Chicagoland if we run a 50-lapper.
Out,
PK

My vote would be a 50-lapper in Chicago, with the 20-lapper variety if:
A). We have a great time and want to keep playing (again).
B). We run into startup issues (ahem, crashes) or delays coming off Yellow.
I've coaxed RallyMonkey into getting the game. He's even more a racing newbie than me, so it should be interesting. If he feels comfortable, count him in for tonight as well.

You're on, man. Sounds like a plan: 50 laps at Chitown followed possibly by some 20-lappers elsewhere. Do I hear the strains of "Back Home Again in Indiana" tonight?
Please encourage RallyMonkey to join us. We can dial him in with a good, smooth, stable setup, and Chicago is a good place for him to race as a newbie. Easy track to drive with a decent amount of racing room.
Then we'll torture him with a race at Gateway or Nazareth.
Just kidding.
Take care,
PK

Here's what I do for Chitown, and damn near every other track:
1. Add a degree or two to the front wing. Eliminates understeer.
2. Remove 1 or 2 pounds of pressure from both front tires. Add 1 or 2 pounds of pressure to the right rear time. Eliminates understeer.
That's it! You'd be amazed at how much speed a neutral car can generate because understeer and oversteer scrub speed. Every time you hear your tires screech or even chirp in the corners, you're losing speed. My goal is to make the car neutral in the corners first before trying anything else like ride height, camber, gearing, etc.
Most of the time, I remain competitive just making those small changes.
I've only touched ride height with my California setup, and it's created a fast yet very unstable car. Tricky as all hell to drive, as I was on the edge every inch of that race last night.
Take care,
PK

Damn, it looks like there could be an overflow crowd tonight!!! Like I mentioned, I'm far from a lock to make the 10p ET start for the 50 lapper, but now I'm worried there won't be any space in the room if I don't.
Do we know who has the best connection for hosting? Just wondering if we could crank it up a few more cars if need be...although that was where a lot of the early online issues started...
hell, who knows, I'm just pumped as hell to race with you guys again.
One of these races, I'm going to pull off the outside pass!

Eight is about a comfortable max for me. I could try 10, but no guarantees. Twelve is out of the question.
