One of my gaming buddies told me he setup a walking pad to game while exercising. Does anyone do that here?
It seems pretty inexpensive to buy one of these walking pads from Amazon but my question is how do you keep your balance if you game? I would think games like MLB THE SHOW may work well because there is less movement's you have to do to say compared Madden or FIFA.
Any suggestions here if you exercise and game? can you share your setup?
Do you game while on the treadmill/exercising???

Where my treadmill is located in the basement wouldn't work with my gaming set up unfortunately. Nice thought, but I'd probably lose my balance and risk falling off.

you can use a tablet to game on via xbox gamepass or playstation remote play. they have small extension holders to hook up your tablet to your treadmill . I think instead a walker might work better. they are cheaper than treadmills.sportdan30 wrote: Wed Feb 11, 2026 1:20 pm Where my treadmill is located in the basement wouldn't work with my gaming set up unfortunately. I was researching about the balance part too. Most people say playing a baseball game is the easiest. As long as you only hit and pitch and let the cpu do the base running and fielding. For football, the feedback is it works better if you play it like a coach mode where you call the play and let the cpu play it out.
Once I get a walker, I will test it and let you know what works and what doesn't work.

Ok here's my update.
I purchased a walking pad / treadmill on Amazon. I went for something cheap so if I decided to keep it long term and it broke and was past the Amazon return policy, I would not be out that much. With the online coupon, it ended up being $89.99.
Now these are not like real treadmills. They can be used for that but they are more like walkers. Like you can use if you WFH and want to exercise while working. Here is a picture -

The one I got is pretty good because it requires no installation. It has a foldable bar that you can use to put your phone/tablet on there or just swing down to just walk or put a table stand to do work. The controls for speed are done via remote. I can give you the link if you want what I bought.
So onto gaming.
Positioning - First of all, this thing is pretty easy to move around. My first time I played it on my tablet via ps5 remote or xbox cloud. The next time I put it in front of my PS5 TV which I liked a whole lot better.
Gaming - It takes some time to get use to it. I played MLB THE SHOW and this was most manageable to play for a sports title. Madden was a little more challenging. NBA was ok too as long as you try not to make some fancy moves w/ the sticks. I didnt try Golf yet but I think that should work well because all you're doing is swinging and putting.
But Flight simulator was just perfect! I didn't try Shooters but I think they would be pretty impossible to play and not lose your balance.
I will probably use it more when MLB THE SHOW 26 is out. I am enjoying using it on flight sim and that's my main game while I walk on this thing. The time JUST FLIES BY. Like last night I lost my mind in flight sim and then checked on the walker/treadmill how long I was playing and it said 45 min. It felt like only 5-10 minutes!
