Re: Next Generation of Xbox Rumors
Too hard for me to say what I might do in regards to next gen. If the PS6 includes a hybrid console with a handheld, I'll more than likely go that route.
Can't see myself buying a high priced Xbox PC when I already have a PC I can upgrade with a few components.
I'm also coming to the realization that many games no longer keep my interest more than a few weeks. So, is the investment in a new game system even worth it?
I will say I'm not remotely ready for a next gen console anytime soon.

What happened to the white flag and "Face facts: It's over?" That worm sure turned in a hurry.Lancer wrote: Mon Oct 27, 2025 5:45 pm Next-Gen Xbox Will Reportedly Play PlayStation Games Like God of War and Spider-Man Because It’s a Console / PC Hybrid That Runs Steam

Re: Next Generation of Xbox Rumors
So many companies have tried this all in one PC box and failed, I really don't see this taking off.

Re: Next Generation of Xbox Rumors
I dunno...I obviously can't speak for anybody else, but the possibility of sitting on my couch playing World of Warcraft with a controller (or any other PC game), while still accessing my entire library of Xbox games without having to do any sort of streaming or remote play stuff is pretty enticing.
I can't imagine I'm the only one. Maybe I just hadn't paid enough attention to them, but I don't remember seeing any of the do it all PC's also being a literal XBox, so you have 2 complete gaming ecosystems in one spot.
Also, depending on specs, you have PC developers who are like....we can build a literal Windows PC game, but here's the exact hardware it's running on. Probably much more optimized performance on PC games without all the fussing around.
Another thing? What if the Xbox detects the driver updates and handles those on the Windows side like it does for game updates? If you can get into PC gaming without constantly dicking with display driver updates or whatever Windows decides to do next, that's a pretty big simplification.
All of that comes with a big "if they do it, and if it works", of course. But I think there are definitely benefits that have me somewhat curious. I had already decided awhile back not to buy the next XBox because I barely touch my Series X at all. But this has at least piqued my curiosity (as if that matters to them or anybody else, I know).

Re: Next Generation of Xbox Rumors
rumor has that this new xbox will sell for $1200. I don't think your average console gamer will go for this at this price.
PS6 is rumored to be selling at $600.

Re: Next Generation of Xbox Rumors
While I think the Xbox price is high, you're comparing two dissimilar devices as if they're identical. One device is a full Windows PC, with Steam gaming available, that also plays Xbox games. The other is a gaming-only console.Lancer wrote: Thu Oct 30, 2025 2:18 pm rumor has that this new xbox will sell for $1200. I don't think your average console gamer will go for this at this price.

The big marketing and PR challenge for Microsoft will be to differentiate the two devices. Otherwise, consumers and gamers will have the same mistaken impression as you: Why is the Microsoft console $1,200 and the Sony one $600? Adding to that challenge is the fact we live in a world less reliant on PCs (and Macs) than ever, especially outside of the workplace. Phones and tablets rule the roost these days for personal use.
I thought the difference between the two products was pretty well spelled out in this thread, including by your original post. WTF.

There is no way the PS6 will be $600. Hell, a steak here in Missouri isn't too far from that.

Re: Next Generation of Xbox Rumors
These are all good points but besides CFB I can't think of another game on the Xbox I can't play on my PC, at least games I want to play.TCrouch wrote: Thu Oct 30, 2025 9:00 am I dunno...I obviously can't speak for anybody else, but the possibility of sitting on my couch playing World of Warcraft with a controller (or any other PC game), while still accessing my entire library of Xbox games without having to do any sort of streaming or remote play stuff is pretty enticing.
