I'm starting to tire of this game and there is one simple reason why. I have to look at the swing meter to hit good shots and not my on screen player. While the swing mechanics may be better in this game, I still prefer the EA game because the swing interface is tied to the on screen avatar.

I realize this may be nit picky and some could care less but for me it is taking away the immersion.

this is sort of where I'm at.

Last weekend I played EA PGA because of the real life masters. I fell back in love with that game and I really don't need to play any other game.

PGA 2K25 probably does golf better than EA's game, but EA's game is so much more fun.

Also, I maxxed out my character in PGA2K25 but there isn't any reward for doing that. Because of the cheaters online, you can't even come close to competing. What's the point then when PGA2K25s selling point is online and you can't even complete with a maxxed out 99 player?

At least in ea pga when I built up my player it felt so rewarding! You really felt the skill gap between a player at level 70 and level 80 and level 90.

EA's game is maybe more mix of arcade and sim but that's what I prefer. It's just more fun.

In our DSP Society, which I believe to be on Pro Difficulty, I'm shooting consistently ridiculous scores, but in the Daily Online Ranked on Tour Pro difficulty I average about -5. I have no idea why that is, isn't Pro Am an easier difficulty than Pro? I'm curious why I'm shooting ridiculously low scores in our society. In all honesty, I wish i played more like how it plays in the online ranked I play, where I'm battling to get to -5 or -6.

Full disclaimer, the only reason why I play in the Pro Am dailies, and not Pro, is because of the swing bias required when playing Pro.

I know that no one posts here on this game anymore, but I just came by to say that Quail Hollow can suck a fat one. The course, greens specifically, cheats like hell. Hole 11 being the worst offender.

It removes all of your points applied to the skill trees and allows you to redistribute them if you want to apply them differently, to strengthen different parts of your game from the way you're currently spec'd.

We still have our DSP Society going for this game and it's a good thing we have cross platform support (well.. sort of, all platform's scores show up on the out of game leaderboard, but you don't know what others on other platforms are doing while you are in round). We average 3 to 6 competitors a week across all three platforms, but it's clearly lacking liveness and connectivity because the three platforms can't communicate or support live multiplayer outside of your own platform.

It is still fun to play purely out of nostalgia and watching how everyone's game varies over time. My ability with this game has gone in the tank and I can't quite put my finger on why. I don't hit a lot of fairways and greens is the biggest problem, but that's down to both swing path and tempo problems that I just can't get a handle on. I enjoy playing the game, but I think I would enjoy it more if there was a more proportional feel in the swing. I feel like there is lag that causes problems with my tempo that I can't feel happening. I would love to try it on a PC that could sustain 60 FPS with a controller polling rate of 1,000 Hz.

Oh, has anyone else on the XBox (or any other platform for that matter) been annoyed by the camera angle shift that occurs as you are moving the stick during putt alignment, and sometimes right at the start of a putting stroke? I have had to camera angle drop like 10 degrees right as I start my backstroke and it throws my rhythm off significantly. This started after last months update and it hasn't gotten any better.

First and foremost as usual, thanks very much for your dedication John, to the game and for setting up the weekly events. What I like in this version of the game is that while hitting fairways is not always easy, never mind putting, it does give you that “good feeling” when both can be achieved successfully. There are frustration of course, at times server issues, at times the make up of the course, (Wade Hampton, reminded me of the earlier years where you would golf on ice).

But when you’re on, it gives you that satisfaction feel that you have done well in your swing, that you have done well in reading the greens.

Cameras while putting is an issue. Especially at the end of your stroke where you just tend to miss your birdie or saving a par because you body just seems to cover the hole. Some settings I still don’t understand for example while accessing our membership title in our online societies, you still come across the very first tournament we ALL played instead ideally of seeing the results of our last tournament played. Unless I am missing something here. This is playing on Xbox, and while you state that you have players for all platforms, it would be nice to see the score of others during a tournament despite of the platform of your choice.

Still playing with the only character I have created, I am still enjoying the game.

James, I am glad I'm in a position to be able to do this and play this game. I'm down to one round, and occasionally two rounds per day. One of them is always the DSP Society round. I love playing a round right after breakfast... for some reason I'm in the mood to play the game most at that time of the day.

I love how I can feel a good shot. I also like the fact that I can get various undesirable results due to swing tempo and swing path. It seems like I'm always fighting some tendency that just seems to come out of nowhere. I would not be playing this game were it not for the role that tempo plays in the result. It keeps the game feeling nuanced.

Wade Hampton had a strange difficulty to it. I was two strokes ahead of you until I hit the 15th hole, I believe it was. I hit three consecutive chips that went up toward the pin, and then rolled back to my feet, 8 yards to the left of the green. I wound up with a quadruple bogey on the hole and an almost rage quit.

I don't know why we can't at least see the in-round scores of the other players on other platforms during the round. It's bad enough that you can't play with the ghosts of other platform players during the round on what is called a crossplay game, but to not see their scores progressing during the round is really a let down. There are times when I would have changed my approach to how I was playing my round, had I'd known how the PS5 players were progressing. I hope HB Studios can fix that in an update, but I don't get the feeling it's on their priority list right now.

THIS! OMG it annoys the ever-living-s*** out of me!

JC, I echo 10s sentiment in thanking you for keeping this going, it's been a lot of fun. I'm an early morning person, so I usually play my round with my coffee at around 4:30am my time before my morning run. I've played a few rounds in the evening before going to bed and, without fail, I do worse. I have no idea why, but every time I play my round at night my scores reflect.

I have much more interest in playing this in the early morning than night. 10 years ago it was totally the opposite. I still play my rounds at various times of the day, but I'm definitely more into it in the morning.

I appreciate having our PS5 contingent in the final round scores, but I would love to play with your ghosts occasionally, or at least see your in-round scoring progress from hole to hole. I would love to play a round on the PS5 just to compare swing feel. I think I would notice a difference in the feel of the swing with a PS5 controller and its higher polling rare, for starters.

I see Web's scores update in round so he must also be on a PS5? I wondered why I saw some scores update during the rounds while others I have no clue until I finish. I get it now and it's kind of a bummer.

Played round 1 of the weekend tourney this morning and I was chasing Web. On 16 I holed out for eagle from about 190 give or take, which tied me with him. I went on to birdie either 17 or 18, can't remember which. I think I'm one stroke up after round 1.

I really like this weekend's course btw. Great selection!

He is...

I would think this is fixable?

We have a good tournament going right now. We are within 3 strokes of each other after round 2.

Thanks for the feedback on the course. It is a pleasant surprise. I five starred it and will probably make it one of my favorites. I love having a couple of driveable par 5's, wind permitting, but if you miss the green when going for them, you're going to be struggling to make par in many cases.
