And then later in the afternoon, 2K teased a new college basketball game. But, apparently EA owns the rights so who know how it will play out.

I didn't know you could own rights to college sports. So sick of EA, let 2k do something for once.

there are no rights because NCAA can't be invovled. I think you mean the NIL entity. But the EA game is in 2028 which probably means realistically 2029.

See the following article regarding the exclusive rights. We'll have to see how it plays out. Would much prefer a 2K college basketball game.

This is so far out on the timeline that it doesn't even begin to move the needle for me right now.

Agree. This will likely be out on the next generation of consoles.

I'd much rather them bring back Triple Play or High Heat Baseball for the PC.

Microsoft owns the code for High Heat. They haven't made a baseball game since Inside Pitch 2003. It will never come back.

I absolutely do not believe MS has any plans to do an MLB game, but now that The Show is no longer a Day One game for Game Pass, I could see a path to getting a game made. But honestly, Microsoft was able to get MLB The Show to become an annual Xbox release, which is really what most gamers wanted.

The real problem is that there is still no evidence that the market can support multiple games in any sport, since in the age of online gaming, the losing game might not sell 100K units. So GamePass would be the way to try to do it, but I don't think Phil Spencer believes in poking the bear.

No baseball game could ever compete with The Show, that's my opinion and being an XSX owner, I'm so happy I can support them.

Would love some CBB though.

Whoa whoa whoa. MVP Baseball would like a word with you. I still play it, and the College baseball version to this day.

Personally, I've been playing 52 games seasons of 7 inning games in Super Mega. It is about a million times more fun to play than The Show, which I even bought this season. The AI is so much better, that you can forget you are playing a CPU. I think I have about 5 hours of game time in with The Show.

I loved MVP, as well as FPS Baseball and High Heat. This years MLB The Show has been such a great ride, 5 seasons, and although with CFB taking most of my time right now, I still get in a game here and there, it's such a great all around game for me.

I'd love to get high heat back but nobody under 40 even remembers it. It'll be like a niche withing a niche who would purchase it. I don't think that's enough incentive business wise to bring it back.

MVP franchise on the other hand still has a lot of nostalgia to it. Like the old NCAA FB games did. That's why CFB25 was a huge success. And MVP is like in the NFL2K category where it is consider the greatest video game for its particular sport. And with EA backing it, it would be a huge success.

But I don't think they're going to bring it back.

Still pissed about college basketball being cancelled by EA. But I understand why. Now we will get some half assed NCAA BB game from 2K where you'll have to pay extra for since it'll be part of their Ultimate team mode. And only 100 teams, no thanks.
