When does the first roster update come out?

No patch yet, the first roster update I believe is out right before the first game on 9/4.

I've been doing a coach only franchise in broadcast cam with the Jets. Has Madden ever nailed Justing Fields, holds the ball too long, occasionally make great plays with his legs and makes terrible decisions with his throws.

In fact I've found coach only mode to be one of the most frustratingly realistic experiences. You really get to see the game shine graphically and animation wise though.

can you explain how to do this mode? I see it on youtube/twitch but I never can find the optons. I sort of like watching games but I don't know how to enable it in franchise mode.

In League Setting there are basically 2 settings you need to check. First is using AI for human controlled WR. Second is allowing the AI to throw the ball as a QB (not near the game but it should be self explanatory when you see it)

In game you obviously need to switch to broadcast cam.

Here is the important part,

On offense make sure you have the QB selected before snapping the ball and then DO NOT touch any controls. So if you manually send someone in motion make sure you switch back to the QB,

On defense make sure you're controlling a defensive linemen, for some reason if you have a DB or Lb highlighted sometime they just sit there and do nothing, but the DL always play on their own. Obviously do not touch any controls once the ball is snapped.

Also for whatever reason when you come out of halftime the camera angles default back to your presets,

I find it a lot of fun calling plays and watching the results. Players do realistic stuff 95% of the time. I've seen animations in this mode I've never seen while playing.

Let me know if this doesn't make sense.

Oh and very important if you go back to normal play you nered to uncheck the option to have the QB throw automatically, for some reason it seems like a global setting.

I'm hoping there is another patch soon, I'm shocked there hasn't been honestly, because I'm an NFL junkie. I watch every teams All 22 film, I love the game and while this is an enjoyable game and fun in my opinion CFB 26 is a much better simulation game.

I don't nearly have to do as many slider adjustments to that game. Penalties are actually called, Field Goals are missed, it's just a better simulation.

Madden is more Arcady and I guess fun but I don't want to have to play on a jacked up difficulty to have a challenging game. I know I may be in the minority but I wish it was more simulation like. For now I'll just stick to playing it in coach mode which in its own way is weirdly fun.

I completely agree with this and fortunately, I like CFB much more than the NFL. There is a huge CFB patch coming tomorrow, so I would expect M26 will have a meaningful patch in the next month or so.
