i bought the game. i'm liking it more and more. i think more i stay away from 25 i'll enjoy 26. yeah having fun.
Re: CFB 26
I checked out UT and they have a new offline mode which is pretty good. The name of the mode is called SOLOS.
There are several types of seasons where you play a 12 game season vs various teams. the difficulty gets harder as you move up the ladder.
I have a terrible team since I just started out and it was challenging just to beat the first team. my guys were rated in the 60s/70s and were very slow and barely won. Rewards are decent too.
One tip - Deleware's uniforms and stadiums are selling for 4-5K. If you want to get those off the bat when you start UT, just change your favorite team to Deleware. UT takes your fav team and assigns those uniforms and stadiums to your UT team when you start the mode for the first time. Then sell those and you'll make around 15K in coins and you can use that to buy you fav team uni's and stadiums which sell for like 1K or less.
So far I am enjoying this. You can build your team w/ the rewards and coins you get. Also in the store, you get a daily pack for 100 coins.

I tend to agree with the core argument that last years game was more arcade and more fun. But I still like 26. I dont think it's a bad game.
One of this guy's argument is the younger crowd hasn't played football during the PS2 era and doesn't know what a good fb game is. But this dude is 24 yrs old so htf would he know?

Reddit is going nuts that it broke the game because the fix catesr to online players and streamers -

Can someone confirm if things have changed for the worse?

Only 1 game post patch, but it was the best game so far in my Missouri State dynasty.Lancer wrote: Wed Jul 16, 2025 3:12 pm First big patch pushed by EA.

i played post patch and I agree it's great!
People are saying they turned the defensive interceptions back up like last year. I think that's a good thing! i thought it was one of the best things in last years game!
If you are passing in coverage YOU DESERVE to get intercepted!!! Even with the game being more arcade last year, I thought that was the best sim part of the game.
I truly hated in 26 before this patch that the ball would hit either the human or cpu DB's right in the hands and they would just drop it. Even DB's with mid to high 90s ratings were dropping balls right into their hands. It was total bullshit.
This fix is for the best! If you can't read coverages and keep throwing the ball into low percentile completion situations then you deserve to get intercepted! just like real life.
Re: CFB 26
I think it's a balance, honestly. I threw a couple INTs last night on balls that weren't a problem pre-patch.
But they were all the sort of "maybe, maybe not" throws where the CB has his head turned away from you and you try to thread one past his earhole.
A couple times, he turned his head with the ball in the air and got the pick, whereas prior to that they just played the WR the entire time. Maybe that's what people are seeing.
I did also have a corner route that I thought was money get leap-picked from a Sam linebacker, which was a first in this game.
But I didn't think any of it was being 'cheated' as much as an unfavorable outcome on a 50/50 chance I took.
I think they're just really good at peeling off coverage and passing WRs off. I feel like most of the picks I throw are intercepted by guys who don't seem to be the primary coverage on the route I threw, but instead somebody who has a defensive responsibility I didn't know they had. I don't know enough about all of the defensive zone rules...when to match, when to climb, etc.
I keep getting busted by guys I thought were out of the play, which is fine with me.

Re: CFB 26
yeah this was the online UT crowd's biggest gripe.. That the 'turn and look' feature they implemented this year was casuing the DB's not to go after the ball unless they turned their head and saw it. The argument was this is realistic for dynasty but it takes the fun out of online play.TCrouch wrote: Thu Jul 17, 2025 10:03 am

Too bad EA can't separate the code between offline and online.
Re: CFB 26
Is that bad? I mean, that's how DBs and LBs are coached. I've completed some that still don't turn their head, and swat aimlessly at air.
But I got beat on a couple of them that got their head around on a longer throw. It seems corners and deep outs are more common for them to get around, while ripping a seam is almost a gimmie. They just can't get their head around quick enough.
I don't know, I really liked it despite my own mistakes and didn't see every player doing it. I would think it's a little more realistic than them NEVER looking.
I'm glad I don't read whatever "they" are saying, at least.

Re: CFB 26
If the biggest gripe of that crowd is it sucks players need to see the ball to make a play on it then what are we even talking about. It's honestly the dumbest sentiment I've ever seen but when you cater to ghetto bros like EA does I guess it should be expected.TCrouch wrote: Thu Jul 17, 2025 2:23 pm Is that bad? most of them are white middle class 20 some year olds.
This is my hobby so I know every type of sports gamer these days. The content creators are the ones that force EA into these bullshit changes. Because content creators are free marketing for EA and have thousands of followers.

Re: CFB 26
Middle class 20 years olds still living with their parents might be worse
Regardless of what I call them if there is a group as you say arguing the point a DB/LB should be able to make a play on the ball without seeing it, I find that ludicrous. I can't even come up with a good example of using that logic in a game like NBA2K of the Show, Even if we examine their complain, I've had no issue controlling a DB and breaking up passes and if they seek more INT's the slider work just fine for doing that.
With that said I've only played 1 game since the patch and with the exception of running the ball seeming a lot harder I haven't noticed a big change in the DB / WR interactions. Maybe I will and maybe I will end up hating it but I know there will be plenty of other patches for them to alter the game. I just know out of the box it was the most realistic playing football game I've ever played and it sucks if it goes away from that.
It's astonishing after all these years they can't just make the game customizable with sliders where everyone can be happy.
