Anyone dabbling with Nintendo Switch 2?

Post by Murph »

I was lucky to get one at launch. Been playing it non stop ,since I picked it up. Mostly the new Mario Kart and Fast Fusion, a game reminiscent of F-Zero and Wipeout from back in the early PlayStation days.

Glad to see it’s getting a lot of 3rd party sports support, such as EA’s Madden and FC and 2K’s NBA 2K.

Yup, got one. It's fantastic. The upgrades to older games like the Zeldas and Mario Odyssey are quite good as well.

One recommendation that's on all platforms, Fantasy Life I - what a game. Def a chill and relax type of game like Animal Crossing, but with some Zelda and Dragon Quest Builders 2 mixed in. It's a blast.

Very happy with my new purchase. Games look amazing despite it not being an OLED screen. It's more comfortable to hold than the original Switch, but will definitely get a grip case when they become available.

I'm playing more Mario Kart than I ever had previously. Just an enjoyable game with more modes and things to do.

Repurchased Link's Awakening and man does it look great and the frame rate is smooooooth. Having a blast with this game after shelving it and selling because of the crappy FPS. Crazy, but I've never played this game so it's been a treat.

Love the fact that it's not nearly as bulky as the Steam Deck. This is way more portable, has a great stand, and the joy cons attach and reattach in a snap. I really have zero complaints.

Looking forward to Madden, NBA 2K, and maybe FIFA. It should be a much better experience than in year's past.

Will definitely look in to Fantasy Life. It's gotten rave reviews for the fun and chill aspect.

All in all, this system came at the right time. Still enjoy my PS5 and PC, but Nintendo has that ability to make gaming feel fun.

I didn't preorder, but once I'm able to walk into a store and pick one up I'll be on it.

Supposedly in handheld mode, performance comparable to PS4 Pro.

Games seem sparse now. Should be different by September, though $80 games?

Looks like I'll be taking a break from TOTK to pick up Donkey Kong Bananza. Game is getting rave reviews and I can't wait to jump in!

DKB has reportedly been in development since 2017. Originally was targeted for Switch.

It's legit so far. Tho I imagine I'm going to get bored of it before I finish it. Interesting mechanics and something different for sure - we will see.

Stick with it. I was a little underwhelmed at first, but it keeps getting better and better.

Got the invite to purchase via Amazon and it was delivered yesterday. Did the transfer, got it setup, and purchased DK. Haven’t been able to play it yet, but will fire it up this evening.

Played a few more levels...not really grabbing me yet. It's okay, for sure...I see the appeal, just not for me I think. May try to just grind my way through it and at least finish it before I get rid of it.

Yeah, I think the game is more of an exploration and collectibles type game than a platformer. I could definitely see someone not getting fully engaged in it. Prior to this, I had been playing quite a bit of Tears of the Kingdom. DK Bonanza was a nice respite from that game. For me, it's a rather calming experience.
