Definitely impressed for the most part. It definitely look great and I like what I saw regarding swings and ball behavior. Having a simulation difficulty is great news and hopefully that won't allow of the "gimmicks" like Big Shot and Heart Meter to be allowed. Still don't know much about leaderboards and online play, but this trailer certainly has piqued my interest.

Release Date is 3/24/2023. However there is a Deluxe version for $15 more that will allow for 3 days early access. With EA Play, I am assuming we'll get a 10 hour trial that will be live on the 21st of March. Certainly looking forward to this!

Really looking forward to this one and hoping that I'm not setting myself up for disappointment. I really enjoyed TW '13 & '14 as both were some of my most played games back at the time. I really liked the dailies and also hope they also bring back the course mastery aspect of the game.

I read on Op. Sports Q&A that frame rate on consoles is capped at 30 fps.Pc's will have higher available frame rates,depending I'm sure on the power of your rig.

Just read the interview. The 30 FPS on consoles, in my opinion, is inexcusable. It is very disappointing. After playing pretty much every next gen game at 60 FPS or higher I just don’t understand why they would do this. Big mistake by EA.

Yeah and there are at least 5 more coming. I’m still concerned about the 30th fps. EA did say they are exploring a Performance mode for consoles. Honestly, that should be in the game and they are stupid if they don’t add it.

i never understood the fps thing. I see others who skip games since the game is not 60fps. Those people miss out on a lot of games.

Does fps really matter for a golf game? Aren't you just hitting the ball once every 2 minutes anyway?

I get it but after playing 60 fps and 120 fps 30 looks like a slide show (on some games). The big thing about the new consoles, IMO, isn’t so much the graphics (I mean it is) but the smooth ass frame rate and the load times. To me, that is what jumped out when I started playing on my Series X. When PGA2K23 (or maybe it was 2K21) released it was at at 30 fps. After an update the game went to 60 fps and it became soooooo much better. Buttery smooth. Maybe this game will look solid at 30 fps but I just don’t see why, with the power of the system, 60 fps isn’t achievable.

When the chief determinant (hook/slice) of the shot's accuracy is being determined by the tempo of your swing, and that tempo is being measured by your ability sync the movement of the thumbstick to the golfer animation, at the proper speed, 60 FPS yields a lot more feedback and responsiveness to make that more possible. My scoring in the PC version of this game is 8 strokes lower per round on the PC version of PGA 2K23, where I can steadily achieve 60 FPS at 1080p, than the 30 to 60 FPS variable performance I get on my Series X. It's not just the scoring; it's having the more organic and proportional feel that 60 FPS affords in the short game, particularly chipping. I can reconcile the shot result with what I "felt" in the swing so much better in this phase of the game.

They finally admitted they are considering adding a 60 FPS option to the game. One of the developers mentioned this in response to an interview question about it last week:

"On PC, EA SPORTS PGA TOUR can run at 30 fps, 60 fps, or unlocked framerate. Consoles (Xbox X/S and PS 5) will run 30 fps.

We understand that some players have a strong visual preference for higher framerate in their video games and we’ve heard community feedback surrounding the fps of the game on console. As a result, we’re examining the ability to add it into the game in the future."

It's funny that the developer said 'some players have a strong visual preference for higher framerate'... it's more like a stronger tactile preference for the feedback higher framerates afford.

Typical EA here folks. They are always one step forwards, two steps back in any Sports game that you play or follow. Great advertising, and weak deliverance is my mantra for them. Even without the 60 FPS, they will mention of a future update and fans will buy it regardless.

I have vowed not to buy at launch and will maybe someday pick it up at discount but have no faith in EA anymore. They have suckered me in to many times now and just tired of the garbage they put out. Just my 2 cents.

Seems pretty standard. But that’s good. Ea golf is more for the casual good gamers like myself.

This career mode has more depth then 2K game without question. So assuming the gameplay is good and you want a solo career mode this is going to be great. Ability to have AI pairings and the AI players using the real shot link data of their pro counterpoints is anything but standard IMO.

Also I'm not sure how this game can be considered for casual golfers when no one has even played it yet. All I know is it has more shot types then 2K so that will give us serious golfers more options on how to play.

Of course it all comes down to the gameplay so I'll find out come April 4th on the PC
