Are you able to start a franchise with all fictional players in the Show?

Yes. The Show has a roster “Vault” with tons of user made rosters. There has been a fictional roster in the vault for a while.

Correct me if I"m wrong, however the rosters from MLB The Show 20 will not be able to carry over to this new version. Essentially, the person who created the fictional rosters will have to start from scratch, which is a big undertaking. It's been a pretty big conversation piece over at OS regarding rosters not carrying over.

Not sure on that one. Probably true. We will have to wait and see. The “The Show” community at OS will be working on rosters weeks before the launch if they can.

I think some of the issue is due to the box getting a version this year.

Excited about the newly added pitching interface. It's very MLB2K like. I was hoping we'd get one similar to Super Mega Baseball. Oh well.

Looking forward to hearing about the overhaul of the new fielding mechanics as well.

March To October trailer. For those that don’t know, March To October is a mode where you assume control of a franchise and you play thru a season in a fraction of the time. Typically you play out a game scenario which then impacts the simulation of the next few games. A big win equates to a hot streak which should mean positive results in the simulated games. Obviously, there are a number of factors involved but that is the jist of it.

It’s funny seeing Tatis Jr. in these promos. He is a stud. I played against his dad in the minors. He was actually called up in the middle of a game against us. They called timeout in the middle of an AB and he was off to the show. I was catching and wished him the best as he left the batters box.

If you are an Xbox Insider, there is a tech test for the Show starting next week and running 2/23 to 3/1. I think the test is for Diamond Dynasty - because that is what was mentioned. I went ahead and signed up for it. I do Insider to get the early updates - do the same with Apple OS and IOS. I am willing to be an unpaid beta tester to get new features early and rarely have had major issues.

If the Show tech test is for online play, I will probably skip it since I am single player only.

There is no guarantee in getting into the tech test (although a great deal of those who sign up get chosen). I’ve participated On The PS4 the past two years. It is mainly to test the servers but there is some single player stuff to do in Diamond Dynasty.

I will be doing the same. Along with Microsoft Flight Simulator, MLB The Show 21 are the only 2 Xbox games I’m looking forward to so far this year.

It looks like the only difference with the versions are some kind of ‘ultimate team-ish” card packs, right (I’ve never played The Show before).

Basically. I buy the cheapest version each year since I don’t do that with MLB. Sucks I don’t get the four day early access but whatever.

Getting the standard version as well. Would be cool to get it on the Series X, but I imagine SDS has some cool extras for the PS5 controller. So, will probably stick with the PS5.

The Show’s version of FUT, MUT, OR HUT (EAs Ultimate teams) is called Diamond Dynasty. The super duper versions of The Show give you a bunch of packs for your Diamond Dynasty team. Diamond Dynasty and Road To The Show take up most of my time with the Show. I always mess around with Franchise mode too. Diamond Dynasty It is widely viewed as the best “Pack Based” mode of all the sport video game franchises. I have a great time with it. I don’t do a lot of the multiplayer stuff but they have several offline single player Diamond Dynasty things to do. Conquest is very cool. The trailer below is from The Show 19 but it explains Conquest. You “The Show Rookies” are going to be happier than a puppy with two pecker when you see The Show in action. It really is that good.
