Your Hawks concussed two of the Rams receivers.
Hoping they get cleared.

Re: NFL 2018
That was some Primetime game. I said it since week 1, the Mahomes-Hil duet is to pleasant to watch. There's was no quitting in that team, fun to watch despite the loss.
Re: NFL 2018
That’s been the sentiment among Chiefs fans. I had this penciled in as a loss before kickoff. It was as big and daunting as Mike High in the road, but with Brady and Bellidick instead of Keemun and Joseph.
When you have a QB that can get throttled to some degree and then come out and throw 4 TD passes, it’s pretty fun. Too bad the last one was so quick. I knew the Chiefs were done when Hill crosses the goal line.

Re: NFL 2018
Yep, this season is miserable. Raiders are clearly the worst team in the NFL, and the Chiefs are one of the best, with a signal caller that keeps passing every test with flying colors. I even enjoy watching the kid play, and I've never wanted to see the Chiefs play a non-Raiders game in my life. I loved seeing him throw that duck pick early (at least for his rocket arm it was a duck), and come storming back with the same youthful bravado. He can make some throws that just amaze me. Those rollout lasers he can throw into a perfect little window for a sliding receiver to catch without getting tattooed are unbelievably impressive. Getting fooled and not seeing Hightower, to come back and throw 4 scores has to be fun to watch as a Chiefs fan.
Now that the rumors are floating that Gruden is looking to trade more guys (Amari Cooper, even though he denied it, Karl Joseph, Derrick Johnson, etc.)...everything Gruden has done with the Raiders has been an unmitigated disaster, and it gets worse by the week.
At least it's fun since two of the guys here at work are long-suffering Rams fans, so they get to have a great time each week. And I guess I'll be going to that Rams/Saints game in November, so that should be a good time. At least get to see good football in person.
But man...these Raiders are every bit as bad as the Jamarcus Russell Raiders, which is crazy to think. Yesterday I kept commenting that I couldn't even remember them looking this bad in the past 15 years, and I had to roll another TV over so I could watch a couple of games at once (Raiders/Seahawks on one screen, and Texans/Bills-Bears/Dolphins alternating on the other screen).
Just depressing as a Raider fan, and knowing that it's not even rock bottom yet. He's still got guys to get rid of, and another 2 years before they're even moderately competitive.

Re: NFL 2018
I was so pissed off about the Bears loss yesterday but today has brought perspective.
Bears are still a team on the up, there are going to be games like this. The officiating yesterday was a bit of a joke, I won't even go into detail on the "pick" play but the phantom roughing the passer call should be brought by the Bears to the league for an explanation. Last I heard you need to actually make contact with the QB for a penalty to occur.
After a lack luster first half the offense responded, too bad the defense took the day off. Despite all of that the Bears had a chance to win but our new offensive minded head coach decided running 3 times and kicking a 53 yard field goal was a good bet. Considering we were moving up and down the field at will in the air, to make it worse his post game press conference where he said "if I call a pass play and he gets sacked I have to anwser to you guys" is not what I want to hear.
I think Nagy is a great play caller but I think he is a system guy. The fact he has Jordan Howard and can't find a way to use him proves that point a little bit IMO. Howard will be gone after this year, if I were him I would of asked for a trade last year but this year cements it.
Mack somehow hurt his ankle and didn't look good yesterday. I don't know how or when it happened but the rest of the D needs to play better then waiting for 1 guy to do everything.
After we lose next week the Bears will be 3 and 3 and thinkg could go either direction.

Re: NFL 2018
Yesterday was the first game I can remember in at least 2 years where all of the bad calls and breaks went the Dolphins way (outside of the OT fumble). I guess that's how Brock Osweiler can win a game in today's NFL. Oh and getting 75% of his passing yards after the catch...thank you Albert Wilson.Danimal wrote:Bears are still a team on the up, there are going to be games like this. As for the Bears...Mack was hurt in the first quarter and basically was invisible. Part of that is how the Dolphins protected against him but clearly he was limited. In the Ringer NFL podcast the guys were saying the Bears missed tackles in the secondary and just underperformed. They failed to mention the Dolphins probably have the fastest receiving core in the league and when you have big physical safeties their limitation is flat line speed. If the angles aren't perfect, you're in trouble. It's not like they missed tackles like the Ringer guys were saying, they barely got hands on Wilson on the two long screens.
Anyway, Trubisky was up and down but he shows promise and I love Cohen and Howard...you guys will be fine. That defense is legit...just had matchup issues w/ the Dolphins on the outside.

Re: NFL 2018
In both of their losses they have been beat by simple crossing or drag routes and the inability to tackle in the secondary. The Dolphins WR may be fast but that last touch down the 1 play 78 yard they dropped 8 into coverage and failed to tackle. Maybe it can be corrected but if not then this is a problem.
The pick play call was a joke, considering what happened in the Steeler game and basically every Patriots game but I'm not going to hang a loss on 1 bad call.
The D looked gassed, part of that is what the Dolphins due to visiting teams. They stick them in the Sun while their team enjoys shade on the sidelines, at least the Bears were smart enough to wear Orange but an early season game in Miami when it is hot is a huge advantage IMO and the Dolphins are smart enough to use it to their advantage.
At the end of the day Bears have to win that game, they are the better team IMO but as yesterday showed this years NFL is a week to week league.

Re: NFL 2018
Yup, it's week to week but it's also a "weak" league...outside of a few teams, the rest are all just going to beat the hell out of each other. The Bears are def a better overall team, no argument from me. Even when fully healthy. Miami has just lost too many guys to be really competitive week to week. A QB, 3 out of 5 starting offensive lineman, 3 defensive linemen and a linebacker and starting safety severely slowed. Hard to compete losing that many starters. The team is just average even when healthy. That's why, like you said, they have to take advantage of that weather advantage, just like what happens to Miami when they have to go to Chicago/Denver/anywhere really...late in the year. So it all evens out as far as home field advantage goes.Danimal wrote:At the end of the day Bears have to win that game, they are the better team IMO but as yesterday showed this years NFL is a week to week league.
Re: NFL 2018
It's pretty obvious how much "roughing the passer" rule has changed the game. Yesterday a KC Chief player said he let Brady run into the endzone without being stopped for fear he'd get flagged. In the MNF game, several times under the old rules Rodgers would have been popped. Now the defense plays him so as not to get flagged which puts them at a disadvantage. The NFL should consider putting flags on the QB's.
Re: NFL 2018
I feel for ya, Terry. Two years ago I was jealous of your QB. The NFL moves fast.
Gruden was such a mistake, and I’m afraid Davis doesn’t have the cash to recover from it. If you have to overspend to get a guy out of retirement, you are making a mistake. The money fades and all he wants is the life he had before. What he’s doing in Oakland is criminal.
I was really starting to like the Raiders, even as a Chiefs fan, with Del Rio coaching them up. They weren’t perfect, but here seemed to be a path forward. This is just not fair to Raider fans.
But if Gruden is cutting guys loose, with Mitch Morse in concussion protocol for the third time, we could use Rodney Hudson back.

Re: NFL 2018
The Sunday night game between New England and KC was fun as hell to watch. It also featured some of the worst defense I've seen by two teams in my five decades of watching NFL football.
That's the NFL in a pistachio shell right now. It's NFL Blitz minus the over-the-top hits. Not sure if I enjoy it.

Re: NFL 2018
Rams may be 6-0 but it sure hasn't felt like it the last two weeks.
Mcvay admitted to his poor play calling in the second half vs Broncos last sunday that made the game a game in the 4th. Which I admire . Now act on it.
I see a trap game sunday.
Show me what you got boys. Show me.

That is going to be a fun one. Of course, it will look like a MUT game.
