Ironically it happens on some systems and not others. Very random and hard to pin down according to the Devs.

I haven't had this but have run into the invisible trees. Where you hit a shot dead center down the fairway and hear the branches sound and the guys says looks like he is gong through some trees or whatever he says.

Still can't believe we can't turn off shadows on the green, so irritating.

Damn that 15th hole. I'm even par through 2 rounds on the 17 other holes and +7 on that hole. I keep having my tin cup moment trying to go for it in 2, hitting the island green and bouncing into the water.

I've only played one round, but I probably would have joined you in the water there if I'd hit my tee shot in the fairway. I was in the heavy rough off the tee and way right. I was barely able to find the light rough with my second and was still 157 yards from the pin. I hit a 7-iron to 18 feet and was able to birdie from there. I know good and well I would have gone for the green in two if I'd been in the fairway off the tee, and more than likely in the water after my second, looking a what probably would have been an unfair drop.

I was lucky to come in under par for round one, as poorly as I drove the ball. I think I only hit 5 or 6 fairways, and this is a relatively easy driving course :o I was even playing with Vader's ghost, trying to emulate his impeccable driving skills... to no avail :)

Forget the fact that I have been very inconsistent with my swing for the past two weeks, from perfect/fast to a slow crawling downswing but I am also just struggling on this weekends’ Phoenix Open just reading the wind. So bad that I haven’t come close to within even 15 feet of the hole. Either I am over reading the wind factor or fall we’ll short of the pin.

I am Even after two rounds, but it’s been a constant struggle.

Vader,

One helluva tournament! Too bad you and I weren’t playing head to head. That would have been a hoot.

Thought you had the lead wrapped up with room to spare as I limped home in round 3 with a 70 while you shot a 64 for a 6 shot lead. Played round 4 thinking no way I beat you, much less catch you and ended up with a 61 to tie. Again, that would have been fun to play head to head because you were playing lights out on a tough track. Wish the game had a playoff assuming no one comes up and beats our scores.

Great tournament, thank you for hosting!

Yeah a playoff would be sweet. Only real trouble I had in the tournament was 2 double bogeys in the second round, one of which was my only fast downswing in the whole tourney that veered way off to the left into the water, frustrating time for it to happen. Saw the top 5 scores of the real tournament through 3 rounds and it looks like our scores will be beaten by the pros this weekend.

At -14, I don't think they will touch our -23 scores.....

You’re right, for some reason I was thinking they had played 2 rounds so far but it has been 3.

Just finished the last round with a -6, by far my best showing for the weekend. That’s some serious sharp shooting you two, with still time to finish I think you both have it wrapped up in the bank.

If there was a playoff and one of you two would record all the action, I would watch it in a heart beat.

Not an easy tourney like Divot was saying and to see those numbers you both shot at, is unbelievable. I take some consolation in beating Vader in the last round as I was following his ghost :P as I seemed to have found back my swing (at least for the last round) so I hope I don’t struggled as much as I have been.

Good stuff guys, that’s a score that will be hard to match even for the Pros...

I quit out of today's round when I hooked my tee shot on the first par 3 and it went down into the rocks and I had to play it from there. Declaring an unplayable did nothing so I basically kept hitting shots off the rock into the water until the game said enough. Disappointing that the course doesn't have that out of bounds.

Anytime you guys can shoot a 60 in any round, that's some serious sharp shooting and great putting on this course. Heck, the Pros best score were -6 or so yesterday. Congratz to you two.

Thanks....Pebble was easier than Torrey because the greens were soft.....not sure what version of Riviera is on for this weekend, but the Riviera GC 2018 by S2G is a superb rendition and really challenging.

Ironically I shot -47 on the same course on the PC version and tied for 30th on the PGA tour at TGC Tours.....not even on the top tour....I think I will stick with the PC for my TGC Tours rounds and X1X for DSP only.

I played one of the official daily yesterday and the ghost i was with convinced me there is a way to cheat in this game. The ghost chipped in from off the green 10 times in the round and the 2 times it didn't go it, he hit the stick and stopped an inch away. I got curious after I watched him chip in for th first 3 holes in a row so I started counting. He also made some incredibly long 30+ foot putts on the few holes he didn't chip in on. I checked his score at the end of the round and he shot a 57.

I recognize that people are better than me at this game but chipping in 10 times in a round seems a little suspicious to me. Best thing is the guy didn't even with the 2 round event, he came in 3rd.

Kudos to Tim on an impressive -36, 72 hole total in this one! My goal was to try to shoot in the low to mid 20 under par range, and I was on track for it through round 2. I blew my stack in round 3 and "Daly'd" a couple of holes after I red-necked out over a couple of duck hooks. My wife threatened to come upstairs (where my rec room is) and turn the XBox off if I couldn't clean up my potty mouth  :)

I really had things going in round 4, and was -8 when I was looking at a 14 foot birdie putt on the 14th hole. I ran it by the hole and off the green, into the fringe, 26 feet from the hole. I ran that putt 4 feet passed the hole, and then missed the bogey putt on the lower lip of the hole. Here I was looking to go -9, yet I walked away -6. I birdied 15 and 18 to get it back to -8, but that tactical error I made on 14 shouldn't be made by a gamer who's been playing this game as long as I have.

BUT... everything I said above just goes to explain to me why I love this game as much as I do! I don't have any other games that trigger this kind of passion from me.... well save for Forza 7, but I usually have a little help from others when fires of passion are triggered there 8)

Danimal, I can see where you're coming from at times with the proportion of chip shots I see holed out. I might hole one chip every three rounds, on average, but I've played people in the Pro/Am official society tournaments that seem to average three or four chip-ins per round. Those who do so seem to be more aggressive in their chips though. I try to make mine die in the hole (if they go) for fear of running them too far beyond the hole. A lot of the chips I see holed out by these "chip masters" seem to sharply rattle the pin almost every time.

I had the regular Riviera Course from S2G set, didn’t know there was a 2018 version so I just changed it to that version, can edit any future event as long as the event hasn’t started yet.

Thanks John....your wife does that too?

They just don't understand, do they?

I also agree that chipping is simply not right in this game and there are way too many chip ins, IMO.

I've gone back to player Clubs on the Xbox, for whatever reason I can't play the Tour clubs on XB but have no problems on the PC version. Even though it make many par 5's unreachable in 2, I'd rather enjoy my round then be pissed off. Besides the distance the main thing I notice is Player clubs seem to be less effective out of the rough. With Tour clubs I could still reach a green from out of the rough but not so with player. I'm not sure I understand that design decision. It would be nice if you could individually assign the club to a type. I would make my driver, 3 wood an hybrids standard but my irons Tour, maybe something foe the future.

Divot your tips on putting have really helped, I only tend to 3 putt on crazy breaks or when the game give sketchy info. I had a putt the other day the game said was uphill but the view clearly looked downhill so I reversed the info and played it as down hill I ended up an inch from the cup.

There is a lot to build on in this game, I have no idea if a TGC 3 is in the works but I hope they really work on expanding this games options. I'm still astonished I can look at my best scores for a course I play.

You're welcome Dan. Happy that your performance is improving.

I hope to do a write up on Tee to Green play as soon as I get a break in my work schedule.

Did anyone else experience lag on this weeks course? It caused me to miss a few putts badly. Trying to figure out if it was the course or if I have something else going on.

I didn't have any lag issues but I had a tough time with the greens on this tournament. Pretty fast as everyone knows but a few BS rolls is what drove me nuts from the second round on...Getting into the deep rough also is not a good idea here and overall I just struggled on my last 3 rounds.
