I have a regular thing going with 3 of my close buddies with Ghost Recon: Wildlands but we are now looking for something to compliment/offset that game.

It doesn't have to be a shooter or even necessarily co-op if there is a team based 4v4 thing I need to know about.

I was thinking maybe Forza Horizon 3. Maybe getting back into R6:Siege and Terrorist Hunt.

What am I missing...?
Gears 4 seems to be exactly what you are asking about.

Looks like they have a free play days/free trial going on right now too.

I tried gears 4. Determined that I'm tired of the formula. Played the story, and scrapped it.

PK, TC and Teal - Thanks guys for the push on The Division. I will definitely look into it. It does seem to be exactly what I am looking for.

No problem, man. Teal and I played The Division for about two hours last night. At least twice we said, "Damn, Spooky would dig this game."

We even discussed starting again with different characters so we could escort you through your journey of the wild streets of Manhattan. Love The Division that much!

Maybe now attractive for the first time. Before today, Xbox Game Pass has rivaled Games With Gold as Microsoft taking out its trash under the veil of benevolence for gamers. Not many good, Grade-A titles in either service.

Plus we'll see how long the new games will remain in circulation. Metal Gear Solid The Phantom Pain joined XBGP in November and already is being removed in February.

I've found plenty of decent titles in the Games with Gold over the last year, problem is I've already played most of them. Not sure how you can expect them to put bran new Triple A releases up for free if that is what you mean. For someone who doesn't buy a lot of game (ie not me) I think what both MS and Sony offer for free are great.

Not new, but at least a few AAA releases that are a year or two old. Most of the freebies are Arcade games and old, dogsh*t retail releases. Yeah, it's a bit rich to complain about free games. But MS could throw us a bigger bone every so often.

Xbox Game Pass is a joke. More than 100 games, most of which are Xbox 360 BC titles or old XB1 titles. It's almost like having Turner Classic Movies meets Netflix for games, if that's your thing.

EA Access has spoiled me. New AAA titles move into the Access vault permanently, usually within seven to 12 months of release. A far better deal at $30 per year, at least for me.

I'll gladly pay $10 a month when a new Xbox exclusive title releases, especially one that I'm not too confident that I'll enjoy. For example, Sea of Thieves isn't a game I'd pay full price on, but for $10 it might be fun for a week or two.

I think Game Pass is going to be a very popular service.

Count me as cynical but the Big 3 (Microsoft/Sony/EA) are each trial ballooning their digital subscription services to see how the public reacts, even Nintendo supposedly has plans for their digital service. All three have made no bones that they all see the future as digital only and retail a thing of the past. Up until recently I could have purchased a 1 year subscription to XBOX Game Pass for free via Bing Rewards and passed on it.

I agree with PK that most of the stuff on offer are games that are 6-8 on the review scores. If MS decides to put up AAA titles on release day that will make it more enticing but I still prefer not having to download a 50GB+ game if I don't have to.

Microsoft Studios releases how many games per year? Enough to put the air hose to Game Pass subscriptions?

Color me skeptical. But maybe a spike in subscriptions from this news will prompt MS to add even more recent AAA titles to Game Pass. Fingers crossed.

New Xbox One Elite Controller?

Post by DivotMaker »

Found this very interesting and if so, my next controller:
The images also show what appears to be an adjustable tension mechanism for the thumbsticks. Microsoft filed a patent in December with an adjustable lock design for the thumbsticks, and the images match that exact design, alongside three LEDs that could indicate battery life or the extra profile support.

So there was a big article yesterday about how MS is lagging behind in exclusives and they surest way to fix that is acquire studios. It went on to state that EA is one of their targets.

I'm not sure what a MS / EA merger would mean. My guess is an EA baseball game, EA Sports coming to Windows 10 and then a non exclusive NFL license because the NFL is not going to limit themselves to one console I don't think.

It will be interesting if it happens.

I read that yesterday and tbh it would be dumb for Microsoft to buyout EA. There's nothing stopping MS right now from making it's own Baseball or even paying EA to do one for them. They'll still be making games for Sony and Nintendo so what will they gain? It's kind of like 2K buying the Baseball license only to watch Sony put out their own baseball game.

What I would like to see from EA is to bring back Triple Play Baseball, NBA Street and a new SSX game.

I think you're missing the point of the article, the purpose is buying them would be to make EA titles exclusive to the XB1 and Windows 10 platforms. Kind of the point is buying a company is you dictate what they do. If MS bought them and then let them continue to make games for every platform that would be the worst business move possibly ever.

Now I don't think for a second EA is going to be bought by MS although MS is worth about 180 billion and EA 30 so never say never. I also think the exclusive thing is a little over blown. Some of the PS exclusives I've never heard of or don't care about but there is no denying that MS has zilch and made terrible decision on whom to acquire, I'm looking at you Lion head and Rare.

I spent two days with Microsoft gaming executives in December in Seattle. Ambition and money are not in short supply. Good people who are VERY passionate about gaming and quality titles; it's not just a dollars-and-cents exercise.

Maybe they'll only let Madden be published on Playstation if Sony lets The Show come to the Xbox. Wishful thinking. :P

So we're pretty much in agreement and I wasn't missing the point. EA makes it's money from selling it's game on every conceivable platform. Making games only for Microsoft would be a bad decision for MS much like when they bought out RARE back when they were making games for Nintendo.

Unless I misunderstood you it appeared you were alluding if MS bought EA, then EA would still make games for every platform so that is very much missing the point but if that is not what you meant then sure your spot on.

We will disagree that MS buying EA and making all there games exclusive would be a bad idea however.

Exactly. I think that PUBG exclusive is working out pretty well for Microsoft and the PUBG Corp. Four million players already on XB1.
