Vader, keep your eyes open for an XBox Society membership request from MERACE. He picked and X a couple of days ago and indicated to me as we were playing last night in multiplayer (which BTW is more in sync on the X).

Do any of you other X owners ever feel like your X is so quiet that it has shut down? I know I get that feeling as I play TGC 2... my XBox One and PS4 sound like a 747 winding up for takeoff when I play it on them 8O I've never heard a sound out of my X, and I sit only 8 feet away from it when I'm playing.

Yeah, not a whisper on the X even when I play my shooters. On the PS4, games like ‘The Show’ you can hear the disc spin at times.

The X does get warmed up after a couple of hours of use but I guess that’s the norm.

Welcome back Merace...a former Dragon too. 8)

If you new X owners want to see a course that really shows off the advantages of the more defined textures its 16X anisotropic filtering and how positively the 30 - 35% faster frame rate rates the X makes possible affect the feel and look of the swing, tee it up at this week's DSP Society 72 hole event stop, Black Brook (an HB Official Course). It looks and plays like a new creation on the X!

MERACE and I played our DSP first round together last night and we both marveled at not only how much better then 16X anistotropic filtering made the foliage and rough textures look, and how fluid the swing felt. The noon lighting really shows off the assets of Black Brook quite well!

Thanks Vader! I feel a little guilty about winning because the last two rounds I felt like I was playing with patched swing. I had gotten so bad about drawing the ball that I started just aiming everything out to the right the appropriate distance for the club. I somehow managed to keep drawing the same degree on full shots through those two rounds and only a few times was double crossed by actually hitting it straight or even a fade.

I made a lot of long par putts in this tournament also, much more than I usually make. I've got to hit the range today and see if I can find my real swing again. It's like I don't even know where to put my thumb on the thumbstick anymore :) Still, it's experiences like this that keep this game feeling fresh to me... so don't take what I'm saying as complaining. :D

BTW, do you have a number in your head as to how many chips you holed out during this tournament? I played with your ghost the final three rounds and I seemed to recall a number of times where I'd be putting and see your ball rattle the pin and then drop... I thought I was playing with DivotMaker at times - he's gotta be the chip shot hole out artist of all time

Yeah lately when I am around 12 yards off the tee I have been hitting the tee more times than not, and then there are sometimes when I choose to putt when the ball is on the fringe and miss I end up second guessing myself thinking a short chip might have had a better shot at going in.

Ha! Dogs and cats, living together...

I left a ton of shots out there too bc of the horrible pin placement on some of those greens. Posted a 7 on 14 in my third round, so I thought I'd blow my chance.

Congrats Rob!
And last place with a bullet! I changed over to my XBox Elite controller after replacing the functionless right shoulder button after round 1. I started out round 2 hitting it reasonably well, but then the wheels started coming off. I've developed a nasty hook from what feels like a good swing, and can't get past it. The Elite controller feels great, but suddenly it just seems to defy logic.

I've had one shot limit exceeded hole, a 10 in the next round, and a 9 in today's round in the Daily. I was 4 under par and holding a two stroke lead after 7 holes and suddenly couldn't find my ass with both hands and a search warrant. When I try to correct my hook be swinging from 5 o-clock the 11 o-clock, I get a pull hook instead of a hook. I hit one fairway and three greens after the 7th hole.

I hope to eventually find my swing with the Elite controller again, but this is really frustrating right now. I enjoy the challenge and had fun at times with all of these plagued rounds... it's just part of the game, and part of what keeps it feeling fresh for me :)

Good job on staying within a stroke of par on this course Rob... the pins settings in the later rounds really presented a daunting task!

Thanks. Didn't think my score would hold up as a few weeks ago my handicap went up and I was unable to play in any tournaments in that society, had planned to finish out that Mid-amateur second season and move up to the Pro for the next season but I think I will play in the Open For All from here on out as I have been struggling lately and don't want to see my handicap go down and end up not being able to play in the Pro tourneys.

Yes it is still going on, send a request and then I will approve it and then you go back in and approve the approval.

Forgot to post this past weekends tourney results, congrats to Divot once again.

Since the single round daily tournaments have been getting low turnouts, understandable with it being tough for some to log on every day to play a round with work and life getting in the way, I am thinking for the next season of making a Monday thru Wednesday tournament with 2 or 3 rounds then everyone can just log in once in the first half of the week to knock out their rounds in one sitting or play one round a day if they prefer, will still keep the weekend tournaments Thursday thru Sunday at 4 rounds. Thoughts?

$16 starts you with no coins so I have to earn some I guess.

This game is lagy as heck on the 1X compared to my PC.

Somehow I clicked on something where now every course I play is now handicapped. How do I do away with that? I must confess since I stink at golf games but thoroughly enjoy them, putting up numbers like Divot -20 for the round does feel good. :)

They've got some high payout official Christmas tournaments going right now. That would help you get some quick coin... even if you shoot 72-73 like I did in the 0 to +10 Pro/Am I'm playing in right now. I went triple bogey in the first round on the opening par 5, and then sank a 12 foot to avoid a second triple bogey on the same hole in round 2... and it's a relatively easy hole!

I agree that the game is more laggy on the 1X than even my gaming PC, but it's eons better in that regard than the stock XBox One. I'm playing exclusively now on the 1X because most of my friends are playing on the XBox One, and the DSP XBox One Society is still relatively healthy.

I simply didn't have time to get my last two rounds in with all the Christmas appointments I had to make. I'd have finished over par anyway... I think I was +3 after two rounds, and trending for even higher scores.

-29 was a heck of a total Tim... that course had my number!
