I honestly can't see why they can't simply sync the selected ghost player(s) round(s) with your round in real time. If I'm not mistaken, they did that in Tournament play in TGC 1?
I just can't understand what is so different about the code in TGC2 that this can't work the same as it did in TGC1? :?

Stupid question time..... i was playing the daily last night (our damn baby is finally getting easier to put to bed so i actually have gaming time now!) and there were a few times where i ended up in really bad side hill lies. When I took my next shot, my swing direction was horribleeeee......... I'm usually pretty good at going straightish up and down, but the red line showed a large move left or right that I swear I didn't do.

Does the lie impact the swing like that? I get when the ball is above my feet, the ball will tend to shoot left, etc. but i didn't think i would actually have to adjust the direction i swing the sticks too?

Maybe i'm just crazy.

BTW, highlight of the round? Driving the ball onto the green on hole 5(??). The lowlight? 3 putting for par!

Another question...... I don't think hitting a draw increases the distance you can hit the ball. Am i wrong? Or is this still the same as TGC1?

In general I don't think the game takes the lie of the ball into too much account on the fairways. I've had the ball above my feet and aimed straight at the target with no wind and nothing.

However in bunkers or in the rough when you have a hill or lip in front of you I experience the same thing you describe, I really horrible swing path. Example I'm in a fairway bunker with a huge mound in front of me and I try to hit a 5 iron, whap swing path is nuts ball goes no where. Hit a 9 iron out of the same situation no problem. It took me a long time to come to grips with this and also hitting out of the rough.

No idea about the draw, my drives that are perfect / perfect tempo always fly 262 yards in the air (depending on wind) and what they do after that depends on roll.

The wonkiest thing in the game is still greens, fast greens which seem to be how 99% of courses are designed are not receptive to balls. Chips do explainable things still. I'll never understand why they put green speed at the course design level and not in the tournament setup.

Bassackwards at best.....

If you get a severe sidehill lie in the bunker, club down and take your medicine.....also look at your shot cone because it will get VERY thin if you try to make a hero shot out of a lie like that.

I'd like to say I hated last night PC daily course but hate ins't a strong enough word. It was an absolutely stunning course to look at but man was it so hard to play, especially with never playing it before.

I forget which hole it was but I hit a wedge in to a foot and watched the ball slowly start to roll, it took 2 actual minute until it finally finished by rolling off the green some 45 feet later. I had a bit of a tantrum using every curse word imaginable at these stupid green physic and my wife says "maybe you should stop playing that game" :D

Been there done that Dan.....it was a tough course.

The Weekly course is no slouch either....had a bogey and a triple on a Par 5 to get my front nine started....

I am about to catch a flight Vader. I finished playing the weekend event last night in a rush (not a good thing) and saw your rounds. Impressive man, lets put it this way after three rounds I was like +5 and my goal was to finish at least even. Managed to do that but your score is sublime. Enjoyed the course too.

A couple of more trips over the weekends, miss the Dragons...

Well... maybe more like 3 1/2, between the rounds that MERACE and Gibbius Maximus occasionally play :)

The percentage of players who play the PC version here is probably equivalent to the PC version's market share of TGC 2. What's not representative here is the percentage of those who own and play the PS4 version. I've pretty much shut down the PS4 DSP Society tournament play here lately, as for three weeks in a row, I was the only player to finish or play a weekly, with only an isolated daily play here or there.

I'm guilty as well but with real golf season coming to a close with just 2 tournaments left I should play more. I'm kind of intimidated to join the TGc Tour thing, I can't even compete in the amateur official tournaments.

Can’t hurt to try TGC Tours. New season starts next week and you will find a tour to play and work on your game to play better and advance to better Tours.

I had not played TGC Tours since mid-2015 until this past few weeks while recuperating. Played my first event at Web.com and won the thing. I got an exemption to the PGA Tour this week playing the season ending TOUR Championship. I got my butt handed to me, but played well enough to make the cut and therefore earning my PGA TOUR card for next season. Two rounds and I’m back where I want to be.

Also played the TST or True Sim Tour which plays with all the aids off like grids and no scout cam, etc and shot -30 at Royal Ethalwind tying for 7th in my first tournament. Played the final event this week at Quail Hollow. Shot E par and will likely end up with a Top 25 finish.

TGC Tours and the Society’s are the main reason I play this game. Hope you find time to play!

I'm still on my honeymoon with Forza 7, and that's limiting my golf play time right now. I'm almost as obsessed with trying to dial in the right force-feedback settings for my steering wheel as I am the racing itself!? It alone is the reason I didn't have time to play the XBox One DSP Society this week.

I need to start playing TGC Tours regularly again. No matter what your skill level, you can always find a Tour that fits you. I'm on the Web.com tour, and when I play it, there's always someone just above me and just below me on the leaderboard. You're much more likely to find a player close to you in the standings whose ghost it will be worthwhile to play along with... just don't look at the leaderboard while you play the round. Even after the patch, the game will still show your ghost playing companion's score as being 1 to 11 holes ahead of the hole they're actually playing with you :x

Why HB Studios can't get that figured out, that you want your playing companion's score on the leaderboard to reflect where they're at in their round as they're playing their round, is a head scratcher :?

Thanks, wish there would have been a bigger turnout as Scottsdale is a very nice playing course.
DivotMaker wrote:I am also cancelling my X1X preorder as I have heard that HBS will not be patching TGC2 for the X1 nor the PS4 Pro to take advantage of the hardware. I can't imagine that the X1 could look anywhere near as good as the PC without such a patch, so I will be playing the PC version for the foreseeable future.
That is truly sad if they aren't even going to try to update it for the 4k consoles. :(

What I'm about to offer is pure speculation, but some of it is based on the XBox One S experiences with TGC 2 that others have shared. I'd say the XBox One X will load TGC 2, 20 to 30% faster, enable frame rates that are 30 to 40% faster, and likely make it look a little bit smoother via the XBox One X's ability to upscale it to 2160p, provided you've got a 4K display. That alone wouldn't be enough to convince me to buy an XBox One X, but couple it with what the X is purported to do for Forza 7, and I'd likely buy one eventually.

I don't have a 4K display right now and I don't think I want to buy an XBox One X until I have a 4K display to go with it to properly showcase it. I won't have the cash to buy a 4K display until next March, so I've got plenty of time to weigh the pros and cons of the X and 4K.

We had an October record turnout yesterday for the DSP PC Society Tournament at Patience Hollow Golf Club (Tour), 4 players :) It was a very competitive tournament, with only 4 strokes separating first from fourth.

Meanwhile, congratulations to MERACE for winning his first tournament on the PC Society Season 2 Tour at Jasper Trace, on Tuesday.

I'm thinking about changing up the format for the PC Tour just a bit. How does the idea of a 5 day weekly, with two Dailies per week strike you? I know I have weeks where I'm hard pressed to get the four rounds of the Weekly in four days, especially now with the football season going.

I'm fine with that, I'm also ok with 2 tournaments a week that are multi round.

Like a Mon - Wed 2 or 3 round tourney and then a Thr - Sun 4 round tourney.

Still hate these spoiler leader board as they are pointless random numbers. I played your ghost yesterday JC, after the 1st hole you were -2. I saw you birdie the first 2 or 3 holes and you were showing +2. Why is it not possible just to post your score through the hole I am on?

Also wouldn't it be a great feature to grab the best shots of the tournament and have a way to show them in game. Like a highlight package for the tournament.
