We could just schedule a night and time. :D

However I think I'm the only one not using Tour Clubs. Honestly my 3 day stint of playing with the Tour clubs directly resulted in my Player Clubs being hit more straight as I developed a new thumb position and swing which takes more concentration but has much better results.

Totally agree. I started to get a better handle on putting recently, and felt I was doing well. But I'm not going to be in contention for anything when guys can shoot -10 or -12 per round. It's still a fun game, but those scores are still out of whack, IMO.

After a while it's like "ah, f*ck it, it's no use!"
Wish the game had a proper lobby and peer to peer online MP so we could group up and I could share with you guys what I do and how I do it.

I'm confused... last year it was no problem to invite friends to a match. Did they change something? (console)

[EDIT]: Oops...I see that Tim has already posted this... well, here's my seconding his motion!

Fellow DSP'ers, appointment golf time... make your next open round be at Hyperion Fields Golf Club, by Reebdoog. This was my second favorite golf course during the beta, and it just got released for the finished product. It is an exceptional track and makes for a great round of realistically challenging golf... I'm in AWE of what Reeb has done with the final version of this course!

I sat down this weekend and tried my hand at the designer and felt very limited so I know I must not know how to use it. I basically wanted to get rid of all the wholes and create the landscape first and couldn't figure out a way to do this. It also seems mapped to a controller as using a mouse gave me no advantages I could see.

As teal mentioned previously I would love a good tutorial video.

Pine Valley, New Jersey also is out. Ultra-exclusive real-life course consistently rated by golf media as one of the top five layouts in America.

I've spent a good bit of time on the designer last year and this year is an improvement but they changed how you start from scratch. This should help as I had to ask on the HB Forums:

From the Editor Menu, select Course Settings. There you will see a list including Tee Box Settings, Fairway Settings, Rough Settings, and Green Settings. Within each of these menus, you will find selections for Tee Box Size, Fairway Width, Light Rough Width, Heavy Rough Width, and Green Size. Each of these items will have a slider, which you can move all the way to the left. This will allow you to design your holes without any auto-generated terrain textures (except Greens, which always have a minimum size).

decent video below.

On the topic of tournament scoring, I agree with some of the comments here. It's not a lot of fun wasting gaming time in tournaments when you know you have NO chance of winning - DSP being the exception. The scores on the official societies are crazy for my handicap (1.0).

I was under the impression that handicaps were going to level the field and that we would have tournaments where HC adjustments would be applied. Is that not the case?

I applied to the ps4 society a few days ago and still can't join. Only option I continue to have is cancel the join request.

Want to play a long, beautiful and challenging course? Try Coppehead at Innisbrook resort. Over 7200 yards of narrow fairways surrounded by water and a lot of vegetation. Check it out mates...

I screwed up in setting the date range for the tournament, and didn't realize it until Saturday. Once the tournament has started, you can't edit it any more. I'm away from my gaming PC until Saturday, but if someone could check and make sure I've got something set up through this coming Sunday, I'd appreciate it.

I've got my laptop with me and I could at least get to the Society menu to make whatever changes or additions are needed if something's not in place. No way I could play TGC 2 on this 2010 vintage slug.

I missed seeing that Terry, and I forgot to check on it yesterday. I did check it as to some point Sunday and didn't see any outstanding requests. Let me check it right now and see if it's there. EDIT: I just accepted your request Terry. You should be good to go. Let me know if you're not.

That's a nice looking course, brings back memories when I was there in 2004. One of the best features this game has are all the user courses that are available to play. The servers for their first game are still running.

FIFA Thanks for the tip and the link.

JC you have something set up through Sunday.

Maybe it's me, but I didn't like the lighting at Sawgrass, it was distracting.

I was playing on the PC last night when someone Favorited about every real life course available. I have to do the same thing, I think Divot posted a link. Playing a real life schedule would be cool.

Yeah, that's weird. I was at the wedding all day Sunday and didn't get on the PS4--I thought I sent the request Friday, but maybe it was Saturday. I'll check as soon as I get home. I tried moving to Tour Clubs last night, and I think I finished my first round at -1, but had to hit some REALLY long putts. I think I had 4 birdies in a row from holes 2-5, and thought "this is easy!". Then the slight tempo issues and shanks started unraveling my round.

They weren't as unmanageable as I thought, but I had to REALLY focus on tempo and swing speed. I might see if I can stick with them. Not like I have a chance of winning anything anyway, I should probably just work on getting better without the training wheels!

incredible course for the PS4 daily today. Realistic, fair.. it was an immediate 5 star and "add to favorites"
My round was unique in the way that I felt as if the course provided good scoring opportunities (that I couldn't take advantage of) yet trouble seemed to lurk unexpectedly. It was some of my best scrambling to date including this lucky a$$ putt :)

Well the scheduling hiccup allowed to me to get in R4 of weekend tourney Monday night.

73-82-67-66. I was firing darts at the green in R4 for 9 birdies, but plenty of 3-putts to go around for 5 bogeys as well.

My current favorite thing about this game is that, more than any other golf game I can think of, you have to carefully choose your landing area of the green. Taking extra looks at the green before your approach shot to choose the best landing area will make a huge difference in your score.

Dayum... that was sweet! You'll see that kind of behavior on firm/fast greens, as is the case here, were the pin is cut in a spot where the slope is outside normal parameters. Well played though... I'll play your ghost when I play my tournament round later today so I can go to school on more of your shots!

Brookledge GC is among the finest in this game, but as James, Paul, and Tim have pointed out, we've also got quality versions of Copperhead, Pine Valley, and Sawgrass to play as well. It's amazing to see this many high caliber courses this early in the life of this game.

Funny thing.. I believe it was the putt before that where my brain shut off and I moved the right stick thinking I was moving the camera to look around the green. Of course, that sent the ball rolling down the green nowhere near the hole. I also hit a lob on the back nine that I thought was a going to be practice swing. Brilliant stuff :)

 I saw that happen and I thought you'd had a seizure or something 8O Now I know the rest of the story :) I was watching the par putt from a 90 degree angle from it, and about 15 feet below the hole. It looked even more remarkable from that angle!

I played a really good round at Brookledge GC today. I had to scramble for a number of pars where I'd left my approach shot below the hole, where it'd catch the terrace and run off the front of the green. My approach on #1 hit about 16 feet short of the pin, rolled up to about 12 feet short, and then rolled by down a slight grade and eventually wound up 10 feet off the green and in the fairway. I chipped up from 45 feet and knocked in a footer for par.

BTW, you had to have chipped in at least three times in this round and rattled the pin for gimmies on two others!
