Solid review. I'm two missions in and really enjoying the campaign. I want to try some more MP too.
You could have all the MP and co-op you wanted if your sorry ass hadn't gotten the PS4 version... :D
I know. I take full responsibility for my stupidity.

Truth! I'm still on the first mission and if you get spotted, good luck! The army starts searching the entire map for you!

Same here. I jumped from that stone building atop the hill after thinking I cleared out the first section of the map on the first mission. WRONG! I was surrounded and slaughtered within 30 seconds.

Digging this game hard.

Loving it so far. I've learned that getting spotted can be a useful tool. When they pack in an objective among a ton of enemies, I've taken to getting spotted. As the Nazis pour out of the objective like their namesake stormtroopers, I bug out for nearby cover. When they start to move on my former location, I can take them out one or two at a time.

I freaking LOVE booby-trapping the bodies. It can be tough to take out a pair or more, but a bomb-clad body will get double kills with ease.

OTOH, are we seriously in 2017 and I'm still dealing with stuff like this: I'm a super-Commando who can singlehandedly exterminate an island full of Nazis, but those 3' wooden fences? Can't jump over those bad boys.

So, do we wanna get a group together and do some Co-op, or even (do I dare?) adversarial tonight? Or are we going to do division?

Neither for me. Five 12-year-old boys in my basement for my son's birthday party sleepover. Sorry.

Shoot to kill, fellas!

Finished mission 3. Damn good fun. Sooooo regretting getting the PS4 version. I'd love to play some coop or MP with you guys. I just figured the extra horsepower on the PS4 Pro would be the draw.

Finished the first mission last night, it was a blast. Will be heading off on vacation in a couple days so not sure when I will get to the next one.

I would guess that it wouldn't matter with this game, at least much. But at any rate, allow me to twist the knife a little...lol. I absolutely LOVE "Overwatch" in the co-op section. Love it. It's asymmetrical, as one of you is a sniper, and one is a ground pounder. The man on the ground acts as spotter, highlighting bad guys for the sniper, and also as primary in completing missions. He has no sniper rifle, just his Thompson, sidearm, and an assortment of traps and grenades. The sniper has no machine gun, and no binoculars to tag. So communication and teamwork are absolutely required. Played first with Wrekcut, then last night with Rob, and though, sadly, there are but two maps, each map takes an average of an hour and a half to complete all the missions. The maps are quite different from one another, and like the main game, have a variety of environments within a single map. Technically, you could say there were four maps, because when you switch from rifleman to sniper, or vice versa, your game changes dramatically. It's great taking out bad guys to clear a path for your buddy on the ground, but it's tense as hell running around below, seeing bad guys running toward you, flanking, knowing that if they get there, you're toast, but glorious when you see them tumble to the ground followed by a distant thunder, because your protector is kicking ass above. Gotta watch your own back as a sniper, though. They still get a bead on your location if you stay in one spot too long, and will get to you and take you out quick.

I really want to get a group of four (or is it five?) together for some survival co-op as well, and try that out.

Adversarial is pretty much what you know if you've ever played SE before. The maps are very well laid out, and there's a new "Battlefield" type mode that I think I'm really going to enjoy. I usually do nothing but "no cross", but this mode has air drops that must be claimed by one or the other faction. It's great fun acting as a sniper and watching those crates, seeing an enemy coming to claim the site, and dropping him to keep your team's claim rising.

The entire friggin' storyline can be played co-op as well, and Wrek and I did part of the first mission that way the other night. It, too, changes the game in a new and fun way. Truthfully, you could play the whole story in a sort of "overwatch" mode, which I would like to try at some point.

I just can't get enough of this game. I'm a little bummed that I won't be playing the open beta for GR:W, but then again, it gives me all that much more time to sink myself into this gem of a game.

Oh, and Bill? You can go give blood or sell a kidney or something and DL it on XBL, too, y'know... :D

Just finished the campaign on normal, and my first thought was "I can't wait to do it again on realistic!" That's the hallmark of a great game...

I won't let it get buried beneath the other stuff, either... Lol. This game deserves legs. So enjoy the beta, but don't forget this one!

I typically don't finish games, but there is no doubt I will finish this one. I'm still taking my time and love the stealth kills and laying pressure minds and then tossing a rock so they come to see what that noise was then... KABOOM! :)

What a freaking breath of fresh air this game is for me!

Damn, I didn't stop in or I would've been in.

I'm having a hell of a time on the monastery level. Nothing to mask the sound, no suppressed ammo and a $hit ton of Nazis.

I think I may switch gears tonight and play this one, if anyone wants to do some Co-op. Been needing a SE fix. Any takers for around 10 Eastern? If it's just one, we can do story or overwatch, if three others, the survival modes or adversarial.

Very possible, dude, if I'm not shoveling. Still snowing hard here, now from lake effect instead of storm. We'll be pushing 3 feet in two days.

Thanks.

Teal:

Playing Overwatch last night with you in SE4 was a blast - no pun intended. A fun change of pace from GR:W, which will keep both games from getting stale.

Man, the embarrassment of riches in the war-based FPS genre is staggering. BF1, Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six Siege, The Division (RPG, too!) and SE4. All Triple-A titles and so much fun to play.

Again, soon! Thanks.

New campaign DLC available. Called Deathstorm 1: Inception. Set in the colder part of Italy, and it's damn impressive. It's a partially destroyed naval base, and it's huge. It can be played co-op as well. I took a screenshot that you can view on XBL that gives a small glimpse of the destruction. It's 6.99, or free with the season pass. Very good map. Check it out.

Uh-oh: There's $7 that will fall from my money clip. SE 4 is fantastic.

So I got this during the Steam sale and what a great game this is, but I've discovered i suck really bad. I mean so bad I can't get by the first mission. Even if I stealth kill dudes someone notices something and then half the German army is coming for me.

Any general tips?

I picked it up on the Steam sale, too. I think it took me like 2 1/2 hours to clear that first mission, so I feel your pain!

I just used masked sound shots (planes passing overhead, breaking generators, etc.) to take out stragglers and generally had to wait an exceptionally long time between encounters to get through stealthily.
