I tried to model Vader's color schemes and shield to give it a familiar franchise flavor, but I can't get the crossed clubs to appear in the foreground... they're behind the shield and I can't get them out! Can you coach me a bit on how you did that Vader?

Also, I have a one day, 18 hole DSP tournament set for today at Dunholme Manor. It's a TGC 2 showcase course, IMHO!

Oh, there is no password... all you have to do is request to join than the admin will accept your application. I'll be gone tonight from like 5:50 to 8:30 PM EDT, so I won't be around to accept requests in that time frame.
I picked the clubs as logo first and then the shield, that covered up the logo so then I selected the clubs again and it placed it on top of the shield.

I am anxious to see how the "Range" compared to "Precise" option impacts gameplay. People in the HB forums are praising it. I am guessing it brings a bit more realism to scoring.

Will be picking this game up after work for the PS4 Pro. Heard it doesn't optimize for the Pro however. Oh well.

Hoping this game will scratch my console golf itch until Everybody's Golf comes out at the end of August.

Yeah, my sons had a few drops this afternoon. But the framerate problems of last night are gone, thankfully.

My only complaint is that my son -- who was a par or slightly below player in TGC 1, like me -- is struggling to adjust to the new, more precise swing mechanic of TGC 2. We share a Gamertag, so he's pooching my stats and handicap, big time!

There are some problems with course publishing at the moment. I know we've got Dunholme Manor showing as the course to be played in the DSP daily tournament for the PC version, but it no longer shows up in the course list when you search for it by name in the search menu. I wish I had gone with a stock course for the first couple of dailies now.

I have mixed feelings. From the short gameplay point of view, there's been a nice improvement. Whether you're pitching, flopping or chipping it feels natural. Once you land the ball on the green, the ball doesn't sail into the fringe as the original game. The commentary doesn't bother me, but I do find the presentation music rather bland and boring. While creating your character, it feels like you're on a funeral.

The graphics are ok, nothing to shout about on the Xbox, but I am sure it shines on the PC.

My gripe so far is that I have yet to complete 18 holes due to misconnexions.

I tried joining you and got disconnected after one shot, just finished an offline 18 at Little Brook Manor with a -11. Like it so far, love the ball not completely rolling off the greens on approach shots, turned the presentation music completely off.

Joined the PC Society or at least requested it. I played one round with player clubs, I forget which course and shot a 5 over, 77. I only hit 50% of my fairways but chipping and putting felt so good I was able to scramble. Graphics on Ultra on the PC were awesome.

Well, I sent a request for the XB1 Society, but you can ignore it. Game's not for me, and Microsoft sent me a refund. It failed online because I had actually played 2 hours and 6 minutes, but when I called they processed it no problem.

I'll wait for a game made by a company that understands consoles. Don't know which was worse, the constant disconnects, or the crazy loading times required to just move through the menus. Maybe they will have the game ready when the XOX drops this fall.

2 full rounds on PS4 and no disconnects. However, I did notice some choppiness in the fly-bys today. Nothing that affected the swing mechanic, but definitely more noticeable than the first round I played.

I'm using Tour clubs and shot -3 during my first round of my offline career or society (or whatever it's called). I doubt there's enough peeps here for a society on the 4 so most of my gaming will be in my solo career.

Sorry to hear you're not digging it, but I get it. It's certainly not for everyone. When development teams and publishers put the handcuffs on as far as NDA's, even after launch, you know not everything is going smoothly.

This really has nothing to do with the NDA.

They are balancing server loads which is something EA did with every Tiger Woods release and with Rory.

At least most folks are patient enough to give the game and Devs more than 24 hours to resolve the new game issues which are not unusual in this day and age.

And you are right, the game is not for everyone.

Played a couple online rounds, one had 6 disconnects and the other had 2, nice to be able to resume right where you left off once you reconnect, hopefully the servers will be fixed over the next few days. Fast greens are hard, a short birdie putt turns into a tripey bogey very quickly.

So is tour club and Ranged going to be the defaults here? I gave up after about my 7th disconnect. Was able to send request to join the Xbox society and get two holes in.

Thanks, I got reasonably close to what you had done in the XBox One Society with the emblem. I wish there was a way members could post notes on the bulletin board for the Society. Maybe something like that will come in a future update

While I haven't had any problems with disconnects on the PS4 in my limited play, what I'm reading around the internet is a much more sloppy launch as far as the servers are concerned compared to most games in this day and age. When people can't play more than a hole or 2 without a disconnect then there's some serious issues. It's not like this game has sold a million copies on day one.

I don't disagree. It is sloppy. It may cost them customers, but like TGC, they will rectify the issues and smooth things out.

They are still a small studio, but they really can't use that excuse this time.

That being said, returning a game after 2 hours tells me someone did not really want the game to begin with.

This game is miles better than the first , i didnt play the other one that much because i didnt like the flaws, so far they have fixed all the stuff i disliked.
Great job.
BUT. I do want to say for such a shitty looking game it runs like crap, it should be smooth as silk with these graphics.

Has Erin Hills been replicated anywhere? :D would love to play that, im playing Calluna meadows right now between disconnects of course, if putting isnt hard enough getting disconnected mid put makes it impossible  at least i didnt continue my game with my ball flying off the green it just reset me at address. otherwise there would be a coffee cup in the street.

Oh and is the putting camera broke it will not set at a different camera like 2 or 3 always at default

Having never played the first one, I can't compare it. And it's not as polished as an EA golf game, not as many bells and whistles, the niggling little issues we've been discussing, and yet...

I much prefer this game over anything I played from EA. I haven't been able to put my finger on it yet, but there's just something about this one that is simply more desirable to me. I haven't picked up a "real" golf game in years. I tried Rory with EA pass, but never even finished a round. Got bored. I think I love that all the courses are original, but have been just as fun to play as any PGA course. I love that they trust the community to churn out some good courses. I like the sound of the driver on the ball. I actually dig the announcer guy. He's just kinda folksy, and laid back. I like that you can resume a match even if you've been disconnected. But I think what I liked best so far is that it just feels like golf. I haven't played the game in real life in forever, and don't really care to, but I'm glad I got this.

The game is absolutely sublime on the XB1, miles better than Rory -- when it works. I couldn't finish four attempts at a round tonight. Disconnects on all.

I trust they'll get the server issues fixed. But the company really needed to do a better job at server testing for a game that relies so heavily on servers for everything from online play to course access. They're not in Jean Van De Velde at the British Open territory yet, but this will become a Greg Norman major choke if not fixed soon.

The server issues will produce bad PR if they continue through the weekend, which is a shame for such a dedicated, responsive developer. An avalanche of complaints can deep-six the efforts of a small development house.

Fingers crossed this gets fixed pronto. Would hate to see this fine game lose potential marketshare because of server issues.
