The pace of this game has been crazy. Very little whistles in between, just two teams going west-east-west. Ducks have been hungrier from the get go, the little battles along the boards and cutting down on their dumb penalties. The first goal just set the tone that they were ready.

It's the home team now in frustration, Kassian, Pouliot, that's making stupid plays. Move on, you're not going to catch ANA tonight, focus on game four.

Again, this is going to probably go the distance at the end of the day.

Goalie is s***.

Doubt you can win a cup with that garbage.

Lucic still gross.

Oilers team lost complete focus after that horrible 4th goal...That was HORRIBLE!...You cannot Lunqvist it at goal if you want to make a serious run at the Cup.

Lundqvist with 6 softies yesterday and this asshole Talbot matches him.

Bad.

Gotta love the number the Preds did on the Blackhawks. It's gotta sting seeing a team actually look competent against them.

I knew this was going to be a tough series. Would much prefer the Blues to be up 2-1, but they are still in a position to win Tuesday and take back home ice advantage. And they actually score goals, so there is a chance.

I mean, I get the idea of rooting for the team that beat you, so you can pretend you are second best. But I'm not sure of the point with Chicago. Even if Nashville wins the Cup, what are the odds any of the teams they face look as outclassed and outmatched as the Blackhawks did. If the Blues can muster two goals Tuesday, they will have tripled Chicago's output.

I'm feeling the Blues win big Tuesday. Let's Go Blues!

Feelings hurt? LOL.. if you want to root for a bunch of dirty, flopping pansies, then so be it!

It's already been like a runner up to winning the Stanley Cup seeing the Blackhawks get smoked like that. :D

Doesn't look good for #87. With his history of head injuries, it's normal to keep him off the ice for further observation and although his head was targeted as he was falling off, I noticed his left knee shouldn't have turned the way it did. At this time of the year, no one will say anything, but when you have the best player on earth lying down for that long, it's not good for PIT.

Looks like Ovi's hit to his head caused him to lose his balance and then the 2nd hit to the head to me, didn't seem intentional.. horrible for sure, but to me it looked like the Caps player was going in for the check and since Crosby was falling, it just happened to be a hit to the head. Ovi should have received a penalty for that.

The leg bending back looked terrible as well.. I hope he's ok. He's a hell of a player and I love watching him play.

Great comeback to tie the game, then freaking Shattenkirk scores the winner...

Whether it was intentional or not, it should merit a suspension. Crosby was indeed falling and you should always have control of your stick. It seemed to have sucked the air out of the Pens seeing him leave that early in the game although they put a valiant fight back. A positive for them is the play of M.A. Fleury, he kept giving them a chance early on.

Holtby was also solid shaking off his weak start in game three.

To be fair, there was a couple of dirty retribution from PIT after Crosby got hit. The high stick on Oshie from Kunitz and Malkin trying to wipe out Winnik. Series is getting dirty.

To be fair the cross check motion is Niskanen's natural stick movement...and Ovechkin constantly waves his stick around with reckless abandon.

Getting hit in the head twice in a two second period is a bit dodgy...you know?... Maybe Crosby should learn to control his head.

As for hockey. You know hockey? Pens already thin are in pretty bad shape now.

I fully agree.. but Fiddler never got a suspension for the knee hit on Parayko so I doubt we see a suspension here.

I expect a much different game tonight from the Blues - Preds.. that series has also ramped up in the dirty department.

Not even a hearing for Niskanen, a complete joke by the league. A five minutes major, and misconduct doesn't translate into anything for this league. Let's just hope that for Pens fans and more importantly the sport itself, that he can come back for the series.

The neanderthal culture is embedded in hockey all the way to the introductory youth level. You know a league is failing its competitors when its commitment to reducing head injuries looks limp compared to the NFL.

b*tch about a head shot? You're soft. Don't use your stick to clock a guy's head and send a message? You're soft.

That's hockey culture, all the way down to the Mite level.

That's sad... like XXXIV has said in the past, someone is going to get killed one of these days (kid or professional player). (and it will take that before the culture is changed)

Won't happen. Don Sanderson died in 2009 in a AAA game in Ontario when he lost his helmet during a fight, lost his balance and hit his head on the ice. Yet nothing changed in hockey's culture of embracing thuggery.

Think about the BEST hockey we watch -- the Olympics with NHL players. What's unique about that tournament besides the fact it's an incredible collection of talent? Zero fighting, and no one seems to utter a peep of dissent.

Why can't the NHL do the same with fighting and brazen stick fouls? Hockey is such a fantastic sport. But it could be SO much better if the NHL led the sport from the Dark Ages.

I guess I'm the only one that wasn't surprised by the Crosby assassination...I knew it was coming. Eventually you get tired of getting your ass handed to you and that's what happened inside that Caps dressing room after game 2. It's the NHL playoffs...you can either be the hunter or the hunted. Caps struck first. We will see how the Pens respond.

Not shocking at all.

It was a "hockey play"... Niskanen was trying to cross check a defenseless player and accidentally beat him in the head. Had Crosby not been hurt from the careless high stick of Ovechkin, Niskanen's illegal play would have only done minor damage.

Cross checking is a hockey play.

Again the fault lies with Crosby for not having better control of his head.

I agree in that it will take more than one death. The first death will be excused by the same three four media apologists who come to the defense of the nhl every dangerous play every time...EVERY time Every s*** play the same media filth.

Its disgraceful and pathetic that its accepted as the norm to try to seriously injure your opponent.

Disgusting.

You can tell the stakes are getting high in the NHL playoffs when the conspiracy theories start to fly.

If Niskanen had intent to injure Crosby, it was one of the most skillful, sneaky assassinations I've ever seen. He did so without extending his arms to follow through on the check, or even keep his eyes on the target at the moment of contact. He also gently guided his victim to the ground.

I'm sure the Caps had a plan to push around and rough up Crosby, but I don't buy a "sweep the leg, Johnny!" hit job.

It sucked to lose, but goddamn that was a great hockey game last night. The Blues just made two big mistakes in the third period off a 0-0 game. Reeves should not have jumped in when he did, and Perron tuned the puck over in the Blues end giving the Preds and easy shot.

I don't like how Reeves got singled out, but I get it. Him jumping in escalated the entire fracas.

LEt's just get a home win, punch them in the mouth in Nashville and hope for some Game 7 magic. Not probable, but the Blues have been in every game of a tight series. It's not like they are being outscored 13-3 at this point. Time to start winning one game at a time.
