Verdun?

Post by pk500 »

Has anyone played the recently released WW I shooter, Verdun, on XB1? I know it's been on PC for a while.

I've read mixed reviews of the XB1 version. Many complain of lousy framerate, ghosting, crappy online servers and other weirdness. But nearly everyone praises the realistic nature of the trench warfare, saying it's much more gritty and challenging than the loose, "adventure-style" WWI combat depicted in Battlefield 1, a game I enjoy.

Verdun is only $20 on XB1. Within the "Why the hell not, take a flyer, man" range of my money clip. But I don't want to waste 20 bones if the game is a train wreck.

Any first-hand feedback? I'm thinking this could be the 2017 shooter equivalent of NASCAR Heat Evolution, a game that features shallow play modes, lousy graphics and sound but remains incredibly fun to play because it features the most realistic oval track racing handling and AI models I've ever played on a console.

Thanks.

Suck it, thread cop. :)

Seriously, thanks for the link. Apparently a patch dropped this week that fixed a ton of this game's problems. I'm leaning toward taking a $20 flyer.

Love,

I'm probably pulling the trigger -- drum roll, please! -- on buying this tonight.

Moving discussion on this game to the thread Jimmy formed earlier this spring and resurrected last week.

Thanks.

I suck so bad at all FPS these days, but I am a sucker for this kind of realism. Bought and installed.
