Dishonored 2

Post by Teal »

I didn't see a thread on this, so if the cops show up, I tried... :D This one is 30 bucks (50% off) on XBL, so I went ahead and got it after playing the recently released trial. I really dig it thus far. I played the trial as Corvo, but started over as the daughter, and love the way the game is going to play differently with a different character. The visuals are fantastic. I loved the pseudo-watercolor painting visuals of the original, and this one is even better. I have no idea about the story just yet, but the story didn't really matter that much to me in the first, next to the mechanics and the myriad approaches you can take. I actually got through a stage last night without killing anyone...lol. My next goal is to try and get through a stage without even encountering anyone. I don't know if that's possible, but I'm gonna try!

Saw you playing this last night. Glad you're digging it.

I bought this almost on release day, as Dishonored was one of my favorite games of all time, period. But the sequel didn't resonate for me, for some reason. I'm not sure if it was a "more of the same" sensation or if I just wan't feeling at the time because there are so many good games in my collection begging for attention. So I traded it in with a 50 percent value bonus at Best Buy, earning around $35 in credit.

Still, I think I missed something. Dishonored 2 is definitely on my hit list for a $19.99 or less purchase later this year when my backlog of games is smaller. I LOVED the first one so much, so there must be something in the second game I'm missing, as it must be quality.

I have it but haven't played it yet. Got it on Black Friday (I think) and a bunch of other games have taken my time. I'll eventually get to it.
