Yeah, I am really on the fence so far on this one as I still have it unwrapped while still making use of the Access trial. To be fair just short of 2 hours of gameplay is not a good indication to judge whereas this is a keeper or not. In a way, it's encouraging to hear that the story will chug along the deeper you get into the story and your weapons become stronger. But as I was playing, I just couldn't stop thinking about Horizon or GRW, not to mention baseball next week.

That's the biggset mistake they made--locking the trial to the first couple of missions. You really need to take your time and explore every nook and cranny early on to get into some of the cooler missions, but they force you to rush through everything on a timer.

I don't know...I'm still itching to go back and play it despite its obvious flaws. But that is sort of the dilemma--if a game lacking polish irritates you and you're NOT a ME fan, you'll likely want to stay away.

If you're a die hard for the universe and could exhaust every conversation option possible with the most unimportant of characters, just to catch tiny references to past games, you might be able to look past all the other stuff.

But no matter what, if you try it, you have to get past the first 5 or 6 hours to really start having fun.

My advice for people on the fence is wait a month this will be on sale. I went the digital route so I'm locked in but I can't see this not being on sale in 3 weeks.

I played a few more hours last night, if you can call it playing and my second impressions are not as kind as my first. Between running around the Nexus and listening to conversations you can't skip through by the time I got to the first planet I was bored silly. I must of spent a good 90 minutes on the space station and that is without exploring every conversation option. It's also nuts to walk around the Ark or station and see a guy with a blaster ducking into cover for no reason. I mean WTF, Witcher 3 has a fully evolved world. People are doing there thing, in MEA NPC's are stuck in one spot doing jack s***.

The game to this point has so many cut scenes and conversations that it's boils down to talk to these 8 people, go somewhere have a gun fight, find an access code and go somewhere else. Then it throws systems at you with little reasoning for them. Cool i can control strike teams but for what? Oh it's to push me into MP I think. Oh I got a lab up and running I can do R&D on things, why do I want to do that? No f***in idea because the game just throws up a little blurb tutorial. The whole time I was thinking I could be playing Ghost Recon or HZD.

Also what the hell has happened to Bioware the dialogue choices of the main character are just so juvenile I feel like someone is playing a joke on me and the main PC's facial animations, good lord they are horrible. Imagine having a really what the game thinks is heavy conversation and it's like your guy is reading his line into a mirror.

NPC: "My friend died on Eos can you put this medallion on this spot"
Main PC: (hapless expression staring straight ahead) "Oh I'm so sorry to hear that, sure I can do that."

I'll keep going but if this doesn't get good soon I'm not playing anymore. I can't believe this is a Bioware product that took 3 years to make. I won't be surprised if EA shuts down this studio.

It's funny, because I've been warming up to it. Once I got past the first couple of areas and started actually progressing through planets, I got more invested in it. It's still got tons of clunky sh*t to it, but at least it's starting to feel like a Mass Effect game.

I'm not feeling it, I hope that changes but I don't really understand what took so long to produce this. I mean the game feels identical to ME3 from an engine standpoint.

After a long vacation I tried to play this again yesterday and ugh. I'm thinking until they patch this game it's not worth the effort and even then may still be bad. The UI is abysmal in so many areas, quest and codex bugs make things frustrating as hell. It's like this game was made with 2010 standards for rpg's.

There are times on a quest I literally have no idea where to go because the log i poor and there are dozens of points on my map.

Expected more from Bioware, really sad.
