Please, Chicago, keep Cutler. It would be far too tempting for Buffalo to sign him as a "major free agent acquisition." And considering GM Doug Whaley signed former Bears superstar Kyle Orton in Buffalo to replace EJ Manuel and Orton was decent, I'm sure Whaley will think Cutler will do the same -- for about four times the money.

Everyone else in the NFL knows better -- except Doug Whaley. He and Bills president Russ Brandon are the Cheech and Chong, the Harold and Kumar, the Bill and Ted of NFL front offices. Idiots. But I definitely want what they're smoking, especially for DEP The Division nights on Tuesdays. :)

Fair enough....but it was nice to see an offense do more than 3 and out.....and throw picks.

That pretty inaccurate given the posts I've made on the team and the organization in the past. I said this team was in trouble 2 years ago and it's been a cluster f*** ever since. Cutler is not the only problem but he is a major costs keeping the organization from moving into the future. You don't pay a QB who has been in the league 11 years with 2 playoff appearances that kind of money. His contract dictated to the cheap ass ownership he must be kept but now they don't have that excuse. I don't want Romo in here or f***in another New England backup who will turn out to be s***. Keep this kid, he is serviceable and likely cheap. Maybe he turns into something, maybe he is at his peak. Fix everything else while you wait for your franchise QB.
Would you take Bridgewater or Bradford for Jay?
NO, the Bears aren't making the playoffs anytime soon. I want the cheapest QB available for about 2 years.

Sorry, PK, I really don't see the Bears keeping him now that they don't owe him guaranteed money. My guess is they will do what Dan says, sign Barkley or a similar free agent to a modest contract.

I do hope you don't have Cutler in Buffalo arguing that he threw a pick because Sammy Watkins ran the wrong route. :D

So Bears fans should we talk about Kyle Fuller or do we just want to stop talking about all these draft busts and let the year end in peace?

At this point we need to start talking about whether the Angelo/Emery GM combo has put together the worst draft run of all time, or merely one of the worst. Devastating incompetence.

I don't think anyone touches Cleveland, but it has been a brutal stretch going 20 years back to the Mark Hatley days. If you look in the last 10 years, there have been 4 really good picks:

Kyle Long
Matt Forte
Greg Olsen
Devin Hester

There are some serviceable guys in that period, and some like Alshon, Mark Anderson, and Danieal Manning who had some success but didn't sustain it. And then just pick after pick of hot garbage.

There was a brief stretch between 2000 and 2004 where they had at some good classes with 2 impact picks -- Urlacher and Mike Brown, Tillman and Briggs, Tommie Harris and Nathan Vasher. But the 90s were mostly a wash too. The drafts between Mark Carrier and Urlacher were just brutal.

Pace's first class doesn't look too good, with Eddie Goldman being the only standout, and he has been hurt half of this season. Kevin White seems like a wash. Jordan Howard is a very nice find, and Floyd and Cody Whitehair also show a lot of promise, so I'd like to see what Pace can continue to do. But Rob is right that the last few Angelo seasons and the Emery years really killed the Bears. You don't recover quickly from that level of incompetence.

Let me present the first-round picks by the Bills since 2004 for the Hall of Shame:

2004: J.P. Losman. Terrible QB.
2005: No pick
2006: Donte Whitner. Solid DB during Buffalo career.
2007: Marshawn Lynch. Beast. Perhaps the best first-rounder for the Bills in the last 15 years.
2008: Leodis McKelvin. Mediocre DB at best.
2009: Aaron Maybin. Huge bust.
2010: C.J. Spiller. Big bust.
2011: Marcell Dareus. Good player when he can keep his head out of the Laremy Tunsill gas mask bong.
2012: Stephon Gilmore. Average, already fading DB.
2013: EJ Manuel. Useless QB. Even his college coach, Jimbo Fisher, told scouts Manuel would be a fine NFL backup as a fifth-round pick.
2014: Sammy Watkins. Injury prone.
2015: No pick
2016: Shaq Lawson. Had a damaged shoulder, and the Bills drafted him anyways. Looking to be the next in a long line of busts.

Any wonder why this franchise has missed the playoffs for 17 consecutive seasons?

That targeting call vs the Rams on that last whiner c*** drive today was why?

Explain that rule to me again apologists. Dude was called for hitting a player in the shoulder with his upper arm as opposed to a purposeful helmet to helmet pinpoint laser strike last week that got no call.......Am I missing something? or are we just full blown NBA cheating now?

Seriously.

Explain it ass kissers...

Thank you.

Something tells me the crisis counseling hotlines are pretty busy tonight in Oakland. The Raiders are f*cked six ways of Sunday without Carr.

Too bad. I've really enjoyed the revival of old-school powerhouses Dallas and Oakland this season. I almost expected to see Madden and Landry roaming the sidelines deep into January or perhaps even early February.

Pretty much, with the way technology is now and the number of cameras it's easy to see every mistake made by the officials. I don't know how you fix it short of making every play reviewable and making the game unwatchable.

Hey look at the bright side, the Seahawks lost yesterday and we can all unite in our joy on Christmas morning of that!

Sorry, man. Even as a Chiefs fan, I've told you thatI really liked this raiders team. Hell, I was using Derek Carr in MUT last year.

I'm just holding on that the chiefs can sneak in to the Super Bowl, winning as ugly and exciting as possible. I have never been under the illusion that this is some dominant team. But they are a well coached team that makes up for the lack of superstars with amazingly competent depth.

Of course, the loss of Derrick Johnson is starting to test that. They had already lose one MLB for the season. Losing the MLB in Chiefs history on top of that makes stopping the run a lot more difficult. The Chiefs need teams to feel like they have top put the ball in the air to create turnovers.

Hopefully they can win tonight and have a shot at the division. San Diego seems to have packed it in, and I think the broncos will be out for blood next week against the Raiders. Still a great damn division.

Hey, at least no ones team I know of BACKED INTO the playoffs like the Texans. Gifted twice yesterday.....J'ville...what was THAT? Where has THAT team been all year? What a beatdown of the up and coming Titans. Sorry to see Mariota go down like that. Real shame, great kid.

Texans win because their former PK (Randy Bullock) missed a 43 yarder to win...ironically the CURRENT PK (Nick Novak) who missed what could have been the tying PAT is the reason why and to who Bullock lost his job........

Texans one and done in the playoffs. inconsistent offense still even with backup QB Savage....he managed the game well with no TO's, but to only target Deandre Hopkins 3 times by the middle of the 3rd Qtr is on the inept OC....incomprehensible. Defense is good enough to win it all even without JJ Watt.....would have been fun to see Houston FINALLY make a SB as it would have been a home game this year. No way they beat the Pats, Steelers or anyone coming out of the West since they have already lost to everyone but the Steelers this year.

I'd rather they get key plays right than let bad calls stand because it's not reviewable.

Why even have some arbitrary separation of what is and what isn't reviewable?

If they're really worried about saving time, why did they put in replays in the first place?

What they're saying is, we want to get calls right so we put in replays but our commitment to getting calls right only goes half way because we wouldn't want to make games go too long and mess up advertising and possibly ratings.

I like how you just left Miami out of that whole statement, lol? Can you say - worst first round matchup ever - and lowest rated. They'll put it on at noon on a Saturday. Ugh. I assume there is some scenario that can make that happen...given the records but I'm not sure of the dolphin tiebreaker w/ the chiefs.

No slight intended....I was not aware until last night who had clinched and who had not....and yes, backup QB versus backup QB on a Saturday at noon....snooze-fest.....tossup on this since it will be a home game for Houston. Otherwise, I would pick Miami.

They are saying now that it may be Hou vs. KC. Houston beat them earlier in the year, but it was at home and not by much....if that is the matchup, I pick KC by 14 if not more. They are ROLLING.

I know it wasn't a slight, it just goes to show how non-existent Miami is to the public...people don't even realize they are in the playoffs, that's why it's funny.

It has to be one of the luckiest seasons I've seen in a while. No idea how they've won 9 of 10...in a huge variety of ways too. So maybe I'm just conditioned to them losing all of the close ones from the past 10 years of futility, but worst case, it's been a hell of an entertaining year.

Adam Gase should get some consideration for coach of the year.

He's the guy that dumbass Jed York passed over last year for Tomsula.

So you knew he was going to do well.
