Please oh please be in 4K. It and NBA 2k17 being the reasons I upgraded my Slim to a Pro. :)
Yes sir. 4K would be tremendous.

I picked up a PS4 Pro, now waiting for a good deal on a 4K TV. I missed out on the 50" 4K Sammy's at Wally World for $398. I was pricing a VR setup for the Pro and it cost more than the console, not all that excited about VR as I am for 4K.

You may want to see if it's worth it to pay more for an HDR TV, if you want to use the TV for movies too. Netflix and Amazon Prime have 4K HDR content for streaming.

What's the difference between a 4K TV and HDR TV? I don't keep up with TV's so i'm out of the loop.

HDR is the new thing. Means the range of colors and brightness between the darkest areas of a scene and the brightest areas are wider than in standard TVs.

There are now games with HDR modes and to support it, TVs must have HDMI 2.0a ports.

Other HDR content are obviously TV shows and movies. Netflix and Amazon Prime have that content and UHD Blu-Ray also support HDR as well as 4K.

For a lot of videophiles, HDR enhances picture quality more than resolution, especially if you're sitting back from the TV, because you get a wider range of colors and HDR TVs have higher peak brightness.

As great as the Samsung KS8000 is, which is pretty much the best choice for 4K/HDR, I still think spring is going to bring a wider selection, and hopefully an OLED (read: expensive) with far less input lag. HDR is the new thing, and I would not but a TV without it, because in 18 months, you will wish you were shopping for a new TV.

But once you start doing the dip dive at rtings.com, the KS8000 is really he only option. LG's B6 is great, but the input lag is at best problematic, and at worst, terrible. It's also twice as expensive. So if gaming is part of the mix, it's probably not the TV to get. But with the PS4 Pro out, and Scorpio soon to follow, I imagine TV producers are doing everything they can to minimize input lag when HDR is enabled.

One weird issue I have is that even if I went with the 55 inch KS8000, I would have issues with it on my TV stand. It appears that it has legs on each side of the TV instead of a center stand. That would put the legs within an inch or less of the edge of my TV stand. If it had a single, center stand, I would feel much more comfortable with it.

Supposedly LG is working on firmware update to improve input lag in HDR mode.

Another concern for gaming and OLED would be burnin.

You can buy single leg TV stands that just use the wall mount brackets...like this:

Had to replace one of mine back in the day with one and it works well. Now I only wall mount. Stands are for the birds. LOL. But anyway, there's your solution.

They already had one last month or so and from what I read it didn't do much on the B6, with the E6 model just getting slightly better, but still not at par with the KS8000 model.

From what I understand, it's only thru a hardware upgrade that LG needs to focus on to improve on their input lag that would be at par with Samsung.

Rodster, I thought you had no interest at all in the Pro but welcome to the club. In terms of TV choices, go to the TV thread, there's a lot of good info there. Can't remember now who, but a DSP'er owns the LG B6 and depending on the type of games you play, he didn't noticed much lag. But it's expensive man.

And no matter which brand you get, yeah go with an HDR model.

I was planning on the Scorpio but I got a new Pro for $300 and if I want to justify it more I was considering adding a bigger drive to my launch PS4. Now I have 1.5TB for games. The original PS4 has given me no problem and is not worth a lot in a trade.

Edit: Still getting a Scorpio or whatever MS plans on calling it.

Have you checked to see if there are locations closer to the center of the TV to put your legs in? The 65 and 60 have a wide option and a narrower option which means for locations for legs.

Thanks! Not a fan of wall mounting, personally. And it wouldn't be good in our present situation.

Just some quick thoughts on the current state of gaming...

Man, are there some phenomenal games out right now. Currently I am playing two tremendous shooters in BF1 and Titanfall 2. BF1 is arguably the best in the series.

I'm also finishing up Uncharted 4 which is just great action, outstanding storytelling and unreal graphics. Its gorgeous on the PS4 Pro and I still have a drop dropping moment nearly every session with it. Naughty Dog might be the best developer out there right now. I can only imagine this game with HDR. The lighting and colors are incredible on a non HDR 4K TV.

I am also playing Watchdogs 2 on the PS4 Pro which has been exremely fun. It has far exceeded my expectations. The open world is beautiful, good characters and story plus a s*** ton of things to do in San Francisco. It has been my favorite game of the fall...and that is saying something. I can't recommend it enough.

Add Dishonored 2 for the PS4 Pro to the mix which I snagged over the Black Friday weekend on PK's recommendation. I've only done the tutorial but can tell it's going to be as fun as Paul said it will be. I simply don't have enough time to get into it yet. Once I get thru Uncharted I'll get into DH2.

Sportswise I play Dragons hockey with the boys on the weekends and always make time for the best sports game out there - MLB 16 The Show. A few RTTS games every few days never hurt anyone :). NBA2K17 gets some of my time also.

Next up? There are two non sports game on my radar for the early part of the new year. Ghost Recon Wildlands is HIGHLY anticipated. Online with y'all should be a blast. Teal, you better be ready to get after it with this bad boy :). The other game is a franchise I've never played...Mass Effect Andromeda. Man does this game look cool. I've been following its development over the past few weeks and it looks like a keeper. Hopefully it delivers.

The upcoming sports game for the early part of the year is obviously MLB 17 The Show. Cant wait to see it on the PS4 Pro. Hopefully it's a 4K stunner.

I'm sure there will be a wild card game that surprises too.

Oh well, as you were.

Not a bad state of affair at all Diablo. I would add SW Battlefront as one of my favourite shooters of all time and I look forward to the last DLC tomorrow. I have also enjoyed Gears 4 a lot, along Infinite Warfare (wished I got the deluxe version so that I could replay MW remastered).

Sports wise, we have our hockey, MLB 16 Diamond Dynasty was the mode I played the most, (an addiction for me), but FIFA and PES 17 are still favourites with me.

Agree with how great Uncharted 4 looks and one more game I have on the radar for the PS4 is Horizon Zero Dawn next year.

I have preordered GR Wildlands already and look forward to Mass Effect Andromeda as well. Add Red Dead Redemption 2 next Fall, and the shooting department has never been better. 8)

Those are the same 3 games I'm most looking forward to as well.

I've also been playing a lot of BF1 with friends. Since I cant shoot straight, its more fun for me running with a squad, calling out enemies, objectives and support.

This past week I got back into Division with the new updates and content. Its more rewarding loot wise in the end game and after the lay off I also had fun revisiting the beginning of the game with a new agent..

I have to get back to SWBF since I just got the season pass. Hopefully I can catch up with you guys again. It was great fun when we were playing a few months ago.

I didn't want to start a new thread but I'm looking for some help with an XB1 problem that has been driving me nuts for a few months. Somewhere a few dashboard updates back my system stopped uploading clips it auto-recorded. I couldn't figure out why, I emailed support and they were useless.

Then someone alerted me to the fact in settings there is a setting that says clips I saved and clips save by me and games. I checked and of course mine was set incorrectly. So I changed it, and since making that change not a single game has auto recorded a clip. I play a lot of Madden, it usually auto-saves at least 1 clip a game. It has not saved one.

Now I have 3 XB1's and I made this change on an Xbox that is not my "Home" Xbox. I don't know if this has anything to do with it but it is driving me nuts. Not because I care if the world sees how much I suck at Titian Fall but just because I can't figure it out.

Anyone? Any ideas?

I had a problem recently, too--I only discovered it when I tried to manually upload a file and it told me "Space exceeded". I had to go in and clear a bunch of old files out from the XBox Live clips to allow new ones to upload (of course it doesn't tell you that on the auto uploads).

So perhaps MS just stealth-enabled a limit on clips. If you manually upload one, does it work? Because this didn't happen until about 2 weeks ago for me.

Same thing happened to us about two weeks ago. My youngest son and I cleaned out nearly all of our clips, and normal recording service was restored.

Yes I manually uploaded clips from my last game the other day. It really stood out that when I switched it to upload clips saved by me and games it wasn't auto saving clips anymore. Honestly I have no idea what is going on, support told me crazy stuff like power cycling and clearing the cache which I did to no avail.

I just discovered last night that I can no longer take screenshots or record clips. There is no error message regarding space exceeded or anything. If I try to record a clip it just sits at 0:00 and never goes away. If I try to do the shortcut for what used to be take screenshot it just does nothing. I have gone to Upload studio to delete screenshots and videos, and it acts as if it is deleting them, but then when I come back they are all still there. Very frustrating.....

Personally, I haven't received any notifications when friends are online even though I have them turned ON. When recording, it does so only after five minutes or so and not instantly as it used to be.

Strange..
