Fairly boring presser. Seems like this will be out soon thought.

HDR firmware update next week for all previous consoles.

Yep...a lot of slow claps. Looks impressive and I already have $350 saved up. So, I'm getting it most likely.

I don't know, maybe I'm just getting old and crusty but I don't really see a reason to upgrade. Price is good but the whole thing about supporting the TV you're hooked up to is kind of vague. Yes those games did look nice, but no mention of frame rate unless I missed it.

I guess I could trade in one of my PS4's and get the Pro. I only have 1 4k TV in the house and it isn't my main gaming room.

Funny you say that, I honestly didn't know there was an audience until about 15 minutes in as they made no noise.

So, supposedly PS4 Pro doesn't support Blu-Ray 4K or UHD movies? :( That would explain the $399 price.

Might just hold off wait and see what MS comes out with.

In the meantime, Sony is going to release a HDR update for the existing PS4.

I'd consider trading in my launch PS4 if Gamestop were doing a promo deal for the PS4 Pro.

That was old time Sony.

Terrible presser, and a product that they are trying to hide the deficits. No UHD BluRay. Not enough power to output 4K gaming. And what looks like huge backtracking on VR. They announce a patch to upgrade old PS4's for HDR despite not having hardware that can actually meet the standards, so it will be HDRish.

If you want a UHD BluRay player, the One S has it, and does true HDR. If you want something closer to 4K gaming, Microsoft will have a console with a lot more power out next Christmas, when more of us actually have 4K TVs that can actually do HDR.

LOL at Polygon, who seemed to have all their, "OMG 4K!!!" articles written before the wheels came off.

Seriously, if someone has a PS4, they can get an Xbox One s for $100 less, and actually get a UHD BluRay player, and access to more games. I cannot see why anyone buys a PS4 Pro. Just bizarre.

Get Forza Horizon 2. It's pure fun. Can't wait for 3, but you can get 2 cheap and it's a great game.

Microsoft is running a trading program currently where they are trying to lure more Sony fans towards them. A PS4 for example is worth $300 towards an Xbox S. That's CA value so don't get too excited.

I wasn't going to bite, but when I found out that they were willing to give me also $300 for my CoD 1TB version towards an XS, I went for it. First thing I told myself was, I don't even have a 4K TV, why am I doing this?

But that's where the future is heading, so I took the plunge towards the 2TB version as I always run out of space even with a separate HD on the side. Payed the $200 difference plus the taxes.

Size wise is sitting pretty next to my PS4, thank goodness no more power bricks, I just need to get an adaptor online for the Kinect. My cabinet is much tidier now.

Now it's the painful task of re downloading games, apps etc.

Just an FYI, one good thing the XONE has over the PS4 is that you can add external drives to your XONE to create more space. With Sony you have to swap out the internal drive. I have a 1TB USB 3.0 HDD that I can easily move around to my second XONE.

That said i'll wait for the Scorpio, lol.

Having bought the XS today, I wouldn't be surprised at all if I trade it in about 18 months or so towards the Scorpio. That is if MS gives me decent value again for my console.

I also have a USB 1TB HDD on the side and I was still running close to 85% full capacity, so now with the built in 2TB I have some room to maneuver as I plan to buy more digital content.

The PS4 basically is home to just 3 games for me now. The Show, the Uncharted series and PES.

Doubt I upgrade to the Pro.

According to Francis, the Scorpio will play 4K games. I do agree with him, WTF was Sony thinking shipping a gimped system in the Pro that doesn't even have a 4K Bluray player?

Thanks for the tip. Downloaded this and played it for about 20 minutes today, so VERY early impressions:

+ This game is mind-meltingly gorgeous. Stunning. A few moments in which I said, "Holy sh*t, this borders on photo-realism."
+ Gibraltar framerate. I don't know the FPS, but it does not budge.
+ Great music and vibe, as with two previous Horizon games.
- Feels much like more of the same. My biggest beef with FH2 was that it offered very little new from the original other than a different location. The early moments of the FH3 demo feel identical: Same game, different location.
- Horizon never has featured a sim-like handling model, which is fine. But at least the original Horizon had a bit of weight to the physics that occasionally required some touch and skill. FH2 dumbed that down even more, and FH3 continues that trend. The cars in FH 3 don't slide like Need For Speed, but only a dab of brake is needed in most corners. The cars handle on rails. Not nearly as much fun as the original Horizon.

IMO, Sony did a really nice job with FW 4.00, they introduced folders and really cleaned up the UI.

Was able to sell my Wii U last week along with a couple games (very surprised what I was able to sell it for), so I decided to pick up a new Xbox Slim the other night for around $120 dollars out of pocket.

Really love the small footprint and it is whisper quiet. Not that the original Xbox One was loud whatsoever. It was also very quiet, more so than my PS4.

Not having the power brick to contend with is definitely a plus when trying to hide wires.

I haven't noticed much of a difference visually in terms of games, but I've only played a few so far, including NBA 2K17. Looking forward to playing Forza Horizon 3 on my 4K tv and perhaps maybe noticing the HDR benefit.

I did notice some very apparent frame rate skipping with the PES 2017 demo. I'm not sure if it's because I have it upscaled. Either way, if I were to pick up the game, it would be on the PS4 as it seems to play smoother and look a little better.

All in all, I'm really impressed with the One S. Now, I just gotta find some discounts on a 4K blu-ray movie. Not really interested in spending $30 for one movie.

My son is trying to talk me in to selling the PS4 so we can upgrade to the Pro in November. I'm just not that excited about it, but I haven't closed the door on it yet. I personally am content waiting until Scorpio comes out next holiday season.

While it was a good riddance to free up my brick adapter for the original Xbox, when I received the new connector for the Kinect, I was surprised that it came with yet another brick. Sure not as invading as the rock that the X1 came with, but still another piece of hardware. I don't really use the Kinect at all but since it was a free upgrade for the Xbox S, I ordered it.

Soon as I got mine and saw how huge it was I promptly sold the whole damn thing on eBay (kinect & adapter). So stupid.
