Can't you set it to Madden and then adjust the sliders to just above Pro?
I'll have to look into something like that, yeah. Up until now, keeping everything default all pro played great. I like to avoid sliders unless I have to use them. I'm definitely going to need to turn injuries down, since it's ridiculous. 5 games into my season and I have 3 starters out for multiple weeks. It may be a bit more realistic, but I play madden for my own enjoyment, not to jerk off over the stats or realism. Missing my top 2 receivers is a bummer. I also have decided to stop looking at operation sports, since those guys are really negative and nit pick everything lol. Someone on here said to avoid that place because they will kill all the fun. The only major gripes I have are the run/pass bug, t he fact I can't get consistent pressure on the qb, and how often on short throws (usually 3rd down) the ai will catch it on the sidelines a yard or 2 short, and the animation takes them out of bounds, when they could easily turn up field for the first down.

I love that the CPU can run this year. I used to hold them under 60 yards all the time last year. Alfred freaking blue just went off on me. 29 carries for 253 and 3 td. One of them was 83 yards up the gut. I even correctly guessed run up the middle, but he was untouched.

@flecther21 I've lost 3 of my starters too, including my top 2 WRs. Having a good variety of games - I've won close ones, lose close ones, been blown out, etc.. Game is fun. I dont know about this run/pass glitch so don't post about it. Maybe I'm not the football aficionado to notice this. :)

Is the updated commentary specific to franchise mode? I wish EA would bring back "Season Mode".

What's the difference between season mode and just doing a franchise for only one season?

I turned injury slider from 50 to 25. It seems the AI teams don't have nearly the injuries as human players, but maybe it's just me.

Big difference, with Season Mode there's no setup. You just pick a team and start with preseason. You don't have to worry about team training, rosters, depth chart, season goals, etc. like you do with Franchise Mode.

Anyone else noticing a handful of huge plays every game? I'm #3 in team defense, but I give up tons of 60+ yard to runs, nearly always untouched. Langford went for 185 and 3 against me. Elliott just went for 156 and 2, with a 75 yard run to beat me. I had the perfect play called, but he broke 2 tackles, then trucked a safety and was gone. The game said it was his 19th td of the season, after only 12 games lol. Awesome fun, but I fear they went from computer rb being worthless to every one of them a mix of Barry Sanders and gale sayers.

Nope. Just won a nail biter 15-10 over Dallas. If anything, there was a lack of big lays on both sides. Longest passes were 30 and 31 yards. Longest runs were 14 and 13.

Also, Dak Prescott was all over the place throwing. Smith had one horrible pass. I'm finding QB accuracy to be fine. Smith completed 65%, and Prescott 52%.

Nah, I just put in Dak manually for the fun of it. Then I heard the announcers talking about his great performances in the first two preseason games. That was pretty cool.

Picked up M17 and can see why it's getting love. The offensive side of the game for the human player is really great now. The running game feels both challenging to me but also rewarding when you make the right choice. I had one play that went to the strong side, but the defense overpursued a little, and I was able to cut back and get a pretty good gain. Passing has a great balance between being rewarded if you catch a good matchup with a defender and painful slapped down when you force a ball into coverage.

The special team additions are also so welcome. I don't even really care if blocking kicks happens more frequently than in real life -- having it happen at all is fantastic and it should happen more in real life anyway :D I blocked a FG for a TD in my first game and would have had a punt block if I hadn't screwed up the angle toward the punter. Also have had some nice returns.

Defense to me is still where I don't feel as engaged. Zeppo said it well earlier -- it feels like it's mostly the playcalling unless you can play well in space as a LB or S. I usually play the line because I have never been good at covering receivers manually. Still, I do like the game overall and getting to the QB feels more challenging than in year's past, which I like.

One thing: I played 3 games on All-Pro default with 3 different teams -- all pretty balanced games -- and I won pretty easily in all three. I only gave up 7, 7, and 9 points respectively. Could be an anomaly, but so far the game feels a little easy to me, and I'm hardly a great Madden player.

The game seemed easy to me initially, too. Also on all pro. All of a sudden, I started getting beat down and being challenged on both offense and defense. I turned speed toslow, which really helps make it feel more normal and not NFL blitz feeling. Also turned injury sliders way down, since they seem a bit too common, and always long term. It used to be out for a game or even a series, but now they all appear to be long term.

Happy to report the new update today has fixed the pass/run bug! For those who were unaware, when you would hold down r2 to show the play art, if the offense players didn't show their names under the player, it was a run 100%. If you saw their name it was a pass. Now it will show their names every time, regardless of the play they called. This is huge!

Yep, several of my leagues were just in a holding pattern until that patch released today. They're all getting started now.

I'm surprised it's taken this long to patch, since I'd assume it was a very minor thing in the code. I'm sure some people online have gotten beat because the opponent was abusing this glitch, while they were unaware how the person seemed to know what was coming. #Ragequit

That's why I didn't tell you about it until after it was fixed, Dan

I had my solo experience ruined on day one of early access by a guy in one of my league chats. Partly why I've been playing 'player mode' franchise games so much and not full team games.

I didn't know about the glitch either.

Is everyone using the default sliders on All-Pro?

I'm really enjoying the game, but at times there appears to be a few too many incompletions that should be catches in my opinion. I get that balls get jarred loose on big hits, but some of these can be a little head scratching. Anyone else seeing this? I've even bumped up my slider to 65.

Im stuck between difficulties. All pro is too easy and Madden is too tough. The money plays in the passing game are my biggest issue. That and how hard it is to get user controlled sacks.

Same. Probably a smidge too tough for me, but I'd rather lose on AP and improve than win on Pro and see my feeble skills atrophy.

Plus my oldest son is smoking teams on AP, so I need to maintain some honor and try to keep pace with him.

I'm playing default AP and I would lose more than I win if I do a season. I haven't even finished one complete game so just only playing one half I can see I'm getting better and it won't be long before I win an actual complete game.

How's everyone enjoying the game after some hands on time with it? I've been playing Madden since ps1, and this is the most fun I've ever had. I wouldn't call this game perfect, but it's the best we've ever had. Pass rushing is still a head scratcher, but that's my only big gripe.

Some weird programming going on. I just beat the rams in the NFC championship game. I simmed another season where they lost the super bowl to new England. After having them in the opening sequence as a playoff team, im wondering if some trickery is going on?
