Re: Madden 17
I forgot to mention I think the ball physics are really a lot better. I've seen some realistic s*** I've never seen in a madden game, especially on fumbles.

I'll check the cameras tonight.. the default is too close to the action for my tastes.
Can't wait to start owner mode when it's released!

Re: Madden 17
On ball physics--my last game I had a completion, until the CB reached his hand up and around my body as we started descending to the ground from the jump. He knocked it out, but it bounced off of my player's stomach, then hit a knee as we rolled to the ground, kicking about 5 feet back up into the air...where a waiting safety picked it off and went the other way.
Coolest interception I'd ever seen in Madden. It was caught, dislodged, rolled off of my stomach, and then knocked up by a knee.

Re: Madden 17
Definitely. I saw Sammy Watkins catch a ball last night, get popped in the ball by the helmet of a Ravens' DB, with the ball floating into the arms of another Ravens' DB. Never saw that before in Madden.Danimal wrote:I forgot to mention I think the ball physics are really a lot better. More fumbles on sacks, too, which is very welcome.
I only hope the blocked extra points aren't an epidemic.

Re: Madden 17
Tampa Bay just smoked my arse. Nice to see that on AP defaults, the CPU seems to play a very good game of football.
I put the camera two clicks back, much better now.
I did run a kickoff back 98 yards!
Anyone know how to keep the game from changing my default player on defense? I want to play say, the DE sometimes they will be selected next play, other times it's a completely different player. Must be some setting I'm missing?

I went back in to play some more Madden on my trial and was given the message my trial was over. I had only used about 4 hours of the trial. Am I missing something?

Re: Madden 17
So far I'm loving this game. It's got way more going for it than flaws. I seriously dislike the kicking meter. I get it that kicking had become boring, and that a 50 yarder was a gimme. I think they've gone too far with the change. I also question how much this new mechanic will affect the ai. Will they still be automatic, while the user is missing chip shots? Besides kicking, I'm happy as a pig in s***.
Re: Madden 17
I bought it today for the XONE. Finally, EA got the presentation and game play to rival NFL 2K5. Now looking forward to FIFA 17.
Re: Madden 17
I started a new online CFM with the Chargers as the owner. Started after preseason and submitted the paperwork for relocation.
As someone who like easy to understand, straightforward menus/options, it was a breeze setting it all up.
The UI is fast, simple to understand and stuff is easy to adjust like the depth charts for example (maybe it was the same in 16?).
I set the CPU to do the XP stuff but the Game planning stage is pretty neat and only takes a 10 minutes to do. It will tell you what the current team you're playing this week likes to run/or did the previous week and then you can go in and practice preset drills (you can also change them) then you can focus on 3 players to improve, like Bosa for instance. I love that you're in and out fairly quickly.
Big moments are neat too.. for my first week it was possible roster improvements and it was easy to look at X position and then see what's out there as a possible upgrade, if any.
The game is just all laid out so well and very responsive/quick to navigate.
Your practice squat players can also be poached by other teams, so be aware!
I'm going to use play in the moment on this first season since I can't relocate until next season. Hopefully we can get a top 5 pick to go along with the move.
Thoroughly enjoying it so far.

Re: Madden 17
I had a lot of fun telling Terry that I was going to take the Raiders in his league when he took Dallas. He took Dallas so I could have the Chiefs, which was nice. So I told him I was moving the Raiders to St. Louis. Them I was nice and took the Chiefs. Might still move them to St. Louis.
I might do my son with Jax moving to St. Louis. They were supposed to be the St. Louis Stallions in the first place. And their owner got screwed by Stan when he tried to buy the Rams. Seems like a good fit.
But not sure about having a QB rose name sounds like someone throwing up in their mouth.

Re: Madden 17
Raiders, Chargers, Jags.. all good teams to move to STL.
I just read where Raiders owner said he would never move to STL, not a good fit he said, so screw him.
Jags would be cool but their owner spent a ton of cash to upgrade the stadium.. so I figure why not the Chargers? I figured they gave Stan the middle finger and said we'll take the STL stadium proposal.
Plus, I really like playing with them.. not a horrible team, some good young defensive players and I can plan to draft a QB to replace Rivers in 2017. I have relocation set to normal, so hopefully the CPU moves the Raiders!

Re: Madden 17
how do you apply for relocation? I missed that.
Re: Madden 17
Have to be an owner and your stadium below 20% or something, unless you change the setting for any team. Then go into the owner stuff and there is an option for relocation. It told me to look for a task in week 4 or 5 for potential places to move.fsquid wrote:how do you apply for relocation? I missed that.
Lost 34-10 in Week 1 vs Kansas City - Charles ran for 155
I missed 3 FG's, not that it would of mattered and I did have a nice TD run called back on a holding call.
Last quarter I did "play in the moment" - really neat how you can still see what's going on in the game and can jump in at times or skip to the next one. I love this feature and can see using it to finish up blowout games.
Default AP, 12 minute - 20 sec accel seems to be good thus far for me.
Week 2 against the Jags next up

I think its the first time I finished the trial.
Im still on the fence but I enjoyed it enough where I downloaded 16 which I havent played at all. Access is a good thing.

Re: Madden 17
I'm on my way to that first round pick.. losing at home 16-7 against the Jags.. another missed FG (I will say this, at some point I'll get it, but it's nice to have a challenging kicking meter).
I did have a 74 yard TD to Benjamin. Injuries on default seem to be decent, penalties, I don't see many so I guess I will tweak those a tad.
St. Louis is 2-0 DAMN THEM!!!

Re: Madden 17
I was playing a MUT challenge where I I ended up in OT. I missed the first two FG attempts purely because I got iced. That's no joke when j still haven't nailed FGs down. Won the game on my third try. At least I was able to keep Dalkas from scoring.
Oh, and they iced me on the last one, too.

Re: Madden 17
I don't know, but I am just fine with the kicking meter as it is. Maybe it's been the old TW games of yesteryears with the 3 system clicks or HSG, but I have missed only 1FG conversion. I wanted to stay away from MUT a bit this season, yet it's my 'Go to mode' so far. Damn mode is addicting...
Re: Madden 17
For some reason I had $34 in my account on XBLive so I pulled the trigger on the game. It is very solid. I'm having a lot of fun with it.

Re: Madden 17
I noticed a big difference in the game on my 2 TV's. On my 4k TV there is more lag on the meter and on my 1080p projector there is almost no lag. The later is challenge but fair but on the 4k TV I can't even get close on the timing.10spro wrote:I don't know, but I am just fine with the kicking meter as it is. Ran a return back for a touchdown yesterday against the Broncos! I hadn't done this in Madden in years. Kniles Davis juked one tackle and broke another and took it down the sideline, just barely crossing the goal line before being tackled.
Loving this game.

Re: Madden 17
One thing I'm already skipping is playing the game planning drills. While I think they teach good concepts, I can't stomach the stupid coach animation and talk.

Same here! I returned a kickoff for 99 yards with a Steelers' dude. I cut back, made one juke, found a seam and was gone. Probably the first time I've returned a kickoff or punt for a touchdown in Madden since about Madden 2000. Very rewarding and fun!
