Pure class. Such a talented broadcaster, so free of the "LOOK AT ME!" hyperbole that infects most of the ESPN douchenozzles these days.

A great loss for broadcasting. RIP.

Wow, such devastating news to hear. Such a talented and articulate man will sorely be missed. I always loved his takes on sports, as he so amazingly filled in and eventually became the lead on the sports reporters after Dick Schaap left us way too early, not to mention ,his various appearances on the networks of ESPN showing us his range of skills, sad, sad, sad to hear.

On a selfish note, myself, being African American and loving hockey, I always thought it was awesome for someone of african descent (African Canadian)to push the advancement of this great sport to other people of color. Hockey's not a white sport nor is it a black sport. The only color in hockey that matters, is green, very expensive to play (ice time and eequipment), but a joy to learn, understand, and play.

RIP John Saunders you may now skate where zambonis aren't needed.
