You are likely needing the Collector's Edition DLC which released a new theme or two that quite a number of courses use. You can't load those courses unless you have the theme they are built with that came with that $10 DLC that also gives you a Season Mode that is pretty lacking. Hope that helps....Rodster wrote:It took awhile to figure out how to download user created courses. I went to download the Pebble Beach course since it was rated a 10 and then was redirected to the Steam store to upgrade the game. Is the premium version or whatever it's called, required to play user created courses? I still feel the sting at spending $35 on this game and don't want to spend anymore.

OK, that makes sense. Is there a way to tell before downloading if a user created course requires the themed DLC?

The only way to tell IMO is it will not load. If I were you, I would wait for TGC2 in all honesty. It sounds like a tremendous upgrade over the current game.Rodster wrote:OK, that makes sense. Is there a way to tell before downloading if a user created course requires the themed DLC?

I didn't realize TGC2 is in the works. I can wait, then.

So I found the XONE collectors edition at Wally World for $12.88 and did the update and the game was choppy as hell, totally unplayable just trying to hit the ball.
I took the XONE offline and replayed the game and it was ultra smooth. WTH?

Never had that phenomenon occur with my XB1, online or offline.Rodster wrote:So I found the XONE collectors edition at Wally World for $12.88 and did the update and the game was choppy as hell, totally unplayable just trying to hit the ball.

This game is not pretty. It has XB360 1/2 graphics. But the gameplay and physics are really fun and more realistic than Rory.

Thanks for the info PK. I'll see if it happens again when I go online with it.pk500 wrote:Never had that phenomenon occur with my XB1, online or offline.Rodster wrote:So I found the XONE collectors edition at Wally World for $12.88 and did the update and the game was choppy as hell, totally unplayable just trying to hit the ball.

Can you do a search by designer only? That would help if you don't know the name of their courses.pk500 wrote:Depends on the designer. Craig LeVasseur, who lurks and posts here, is probably the best in the world.Rodster wrote:'i haven't played this game in a long time. Do the user created courses have better graphics and less resource intensive i.e. do the trees still look like they were used from the original Xbox?
Go to any of Magnolia National courses (Augusta) and hit the X button to search "Other Courses by This Designer." Then you'll see all of Craig's other courses. They're masterpieces, including his newest - Oakmont.

Re: HB Studios Next-Gen golf game: The Golf Club
The search function for courses, etc is a real problem due to the sheer number of courses (120,000+) and there is no real good way to search unless you have the EXACT name of the course.....if you are off by a letter, it won't put the course you are looking for up as a maybe.....Rodster wrote:Can you do a search by designer only? Thanks for the info, guys. Yeah I noticed that as well that you have to be exact how you search for stuff.

Definitely interesting. I wonder if they are doing something similar for the Playstation VR.

I was checking out some first reviews of PSVR, and one consensus seems to be that the comfort and visual quality is good, the tracking is way behind Vive and Rift. The PSVR controllers, for instance, just have a single, optical tracking point. Vive and Rift have several IR tracking points on the every controller. I'm not sure a single tracking point is good enough for interesting gameplay with a hand controller.Diablo25 wrote:Definitely interesting. Yeah I read prettty much the same. They are the old Move controllers. You would think Sony has something better (controller wise) in the works.Naples39 wrote:I was checking out some first reviews of PSVR, and one consensus seems to be that the comfort and visual quality is good, the tracking is way behind Vive and Rift. Anthony Kyne (Producer) stated that they would see how the Vive went, then add hardware as they went along.Diablo25 wrote:Definitely interesting. I wonder if they are doing something similar for the Playstation VR.

I do not think the PS4 is powerful enough to do PSVR justice with the Unity engine....Diablo25 wrote:Looks like the game is done. Available October 19th. Damn I wish this was available on PSVRDivotMaker wrote:TGC VR is on Steam Early Access now if you have an HTC Vive VR set....

I'd LOVE to give the VR version a whirl but no Vive and no PC

I watched a few broadcasts of TGC VR on Twitch and Youtube and, outside of the clueless people playing, the game looked pretty cool. To me, golf a is a super candidate for VR. It just needs to be on consoles. Im not getting a high end PC and vr headset just for TGC.

Re: HB Studios Next-Gen golf game: The Golf Club
A disclaimer needs to accompany this video. It doesn't show most of the new graphics and texture enhancements, nor new player models, featuring the new motion capture work they did last year. Here is a comment one of the producers (Shaun West) made in the official forum about this video last week:vader29 wrote:
"Hi folks, some of you have been expressing concerns based on the video that was released earlier this week. I wanted to clarify what was in there to hopefully ease some minds. The majority of the in-game footage that is shown in the video was recorded some time ago and doesn’t include several improvements that will be a part of Closed Beta. There are very view visual improvements and texture upgrades in that footage, it also didn’t include the new character models or new animations. We’ll be showing more of these in the coming weeks. Maximum Games are working to a plan when it comes to releasing content to the community, so we follow that and work closely with them on when to roll out information."
Why in the world the publisher, Maximum Games, would release a video like this to supposedly represent the new game, when most of the assets from the new game aren't on display, is beyond me!
