Then get off your ass and do it! Let this game consume your Soul!

Or at least invent some curse words, as I have done after hitting the ditches 100 times.

No, no, no: This is as hardcore as it gets for a console racing game. Unforgiving. Brutal. Beautiful.

Fun as hell. But you really need to be a petrolhead to appreciate it.

Terry, are those Kontrol Freek things easy to take off and on, or are you basically stuck with it once you stick it on a stick?

Rally 2 - Sweden, Route 2

Vehicle Class:
Hyundai Rally - must be used by Rockjaw McGraw, Fshguy, theycallhimsim
Volkswagen Polo Rally - can only be used by CP Zeppo, 10spro, Ace EZ
Everyone else can pick from Ford Fiesta RS Rally, MINI Countryman Rally Edition, Hyundai Rally

** Since we will usually have somewhere between 10 - 15 racers at the most from week to week I decided to make it easy on the Tier handicapping and go Top 3 from previous week use the Hyundai Rally, bottom 3 are allowed to use the Volkswagen Polo Rally. Let me know if anyone has a problem with that.

Date range: Monday 06/13/2016 12:00 noon EDT - Monday 06/20/2016 3:00am EDT

Stage: Track: Conditions:
1 Sweden, Elgsjön (S) Midday / Sunny
2 Sweden, Hamra (L) Afternoon / Cloudy
3 Sweden, Älgsjön (S) Afternoon / Snow
4 Sweden, Björklangen (S) Night / Snow
5 Sweden, Lysvik (L) Midday / Sunny
6 Sweden, Östra Hinnsjön (S) Afternoon / Snow

Like most of us would consent, thanks again for setting the events. Although the intention is good, when you look at the times, I could be driving a Ferrari and still be a bottom feeder. I'd like too see a handicap feature where you can actually puncture one of Terry's car wheels and start the race from there.

Kidding aside, it's been fun dropping off cliffs, gliding off tracks and flipping off mini side walls and I appreciate the change of cars. In my case however, it won't make much of a difference. 8)

Man that monte carlo stage is a hard intro to this class with all the spinning and sticky walls. Hopefully the improvement from playing the same cars week on week will translate to closer times towards the end. btw I took the hyundai cause it's the training wheels car - not because of some delusion of needing a handicap.

By the way - controller settings - would anyone care to compare or comment on their setup?

Controller, generally road view
Steering sensitivity 85
Steering Linearity 10 (want a little forgiveness close to center, but overall wheels should do what I say)
Steering Deadzone 20%
Launch/ABS/Stability/Traction OFF & Manual/Clutch_Override On - for fun and challenge

I never touched the default controls when I ran with a controller. At rally 5 last season I changed over to my wheel after I dug it out of the garage and have done no end of FF tweaking, but that won't really matter to anybody.

I've always preferred the smallest dead zone possible in racing games when using a controller. I don't like having to guess where the steering input is going to start working...most of the time I set it at 5% or less if possible, and work on tiny adjustments instead of the stab-stab-stab-stab method of steering.

I thought Dirt Rally had phenomenal controller settings out of the box, honestly.

And screw you guys on the tire puncturing plan!! I just try not to get penalties. Anything else is a bonus.

Agree. It was a welcome pleasure to have such good feel with a controller out of the box.

Quite the change from Project Cars on the Xbox One. I think some graduate students put less time into their thesis than I needed to find a good controller setup for PCars.

You know after this quote I switched to 5%, it felt too floaty, so I tried 10, and immediately felt more stable. There was too much over-correcting before. So then on the last race, after getting used to smaller, more controlled inputs, I went back to 5% and had a really solid run. This was really good input.
