Too much speed for the Pens tonight, but don't count out those Caps out just yet. Should be a thriller of a finish.XXXIV wrote:So I am playing Dark Souls 3 and I hear from the next room and I quote "Vader's boys are winning 3-0"....Then a minute later as in right now...."Oh No they scored." meaning the Caps.

This series gave been great to watch. On one hand I wanted the Caps to extend the series and watch game 7 between these two teams. Kessel is finally becoming the dangerous player that they traded him for and the Bonino line was arguably the best line for PIT as Malkin and Crosby were watched closely.

I'm so freaking nervous! Hopefully it rains so soccer is canceled tonight.. it's going to be hard not to check in on the score.

Screw you Charter cable!! Can't watch the game because of an outage. I'm going back to satellite!!
Re: NHL 2015-16 season thread
I still prefer Charter to DirecTV, but this is the second time we lost channels because of a storm.
Too happy to really care right now, though!

Re: NHL 2015-16 season thread
Watching some US cities how they treat their beloved team when things don't go right, irks the hell out of any Canadian puck head who would die to watch their beloved team make the payoffs this year. If I was a Stars fan, I would have been damn proud of them for finishing first in the always super tough western division, for bringing this series to a final game 7 despite playing without one of the best arsenals in offense. They were the underdogs in this series and ultimately it was the shaky goaltending that brought them down. You can't take away anything from the Blues who deserved the win.
But to see their beloved fans start leaving the game when they were already 0-3 and see all those open seats during the 2nd period only to be worse in the third? You call yourselves fans? That would have never happened in Canada even if the score was 10-0. They may have rioted after though.
Pathetic, go cheer for your cowboys.
Key moment for me was during the first period with the score already 3-0 for the Blues and DAL was pressing. Elliot was all over the place but in net, (he was behind it actually) and makes a key little toe save in the crease as the home team were looking for one. That sealed the momentum going for the Blues and they never looked back.
As I mentioned previously during their series with the Hawks, I was damn impressed with rookie Robbi Fabbri. Three points in a crucial game 7. Gotta be a first.
If Sharks can get their PP clicking, they should win their game tonight. P. Rinne has been stellar though for the Preds.

Well said as always from the DSP hockey guru!
Dallas will have their day, I really believe that. They are only going to get better.
I know the Elliott save you were talking about and I agree, that toe save sealed it for the Blues. I would like to say I was wrong about the TJ Oshie - Brouwer trade, WOW has been GREAT in the playoffs!!!

I was pretty down on the Oshie trade at first, too. but ass I started to see people explain the role of Brouwer, and I looked at the what they still had left for their scoring lines, I thought it made sense. Still like Oshie, but the trade is paying off huge right now.

Re: NHL 2015-16 season thread
Pretty simple about Dallas sports fans: Every sport besides the NFL and college football is just a distraction to occupy the mind from February through August.
Football was, is and always will be king in Dallas. Nothing else is close.
It's no different in Canada. Look at Toronto. The city has Raptors' Fever now, and the Jays also capture plenty of interest. But the Leafs sit atop the Toronto sports media menu every damn day of the year even though they haven't won a Cup since 1967.

Raptors' fever have been getting the attention of the rest of the country for the past couple of years and more so for the Jays. Leafs Nation will always be on top of any sport event in that neck of the woods and ditto for any Canadian province that owns a hockey team for that matter.pk500 wrote:Pretty simple about Dallas sports fans: Every sport besides the NFL and college football is just a distraction to occupy the mind from February through August.

But my point is that as pathetic as the Leafs have been over the years, their fans would have never been seen walking away from a game with a score 3-0 in the first period of a game 7. That was an insult to the sport and to their so called beloved Stars.
Re: NHL 2015-16 season thread
Naw, but thanks. It just drives me nuts when people give up on their teams just because it was a bad night. There's a process that got your Blues here. Ditto for DAL.MizzouRah wrote:Well said as always from the DSP hockey guru!

Then you have cities like Quebec or any town in the Ontario province that could do much better and appreciate the sport much more. Las Vegas, Seattle. I always say that it's the Canadian franchises and major US cities that are supporting the league. The rest just don't care and are Bettman's puppets.
But going back to DAL like you said, I also think that they will be in the mix for a playoff spot the next couple of years.
But they got a major issue right now. What to do with Niemi and Lethonen who are under contract taking 11 million of their cap space. That's a lot of investment for two goalies who unperformed and are getting older. They do need to re-sign some key players on D, their offense is fine but they have a headache of a case when it comes to in between the pipes.
Re: NHL 2015-16 season thread
Yet another turnover by the Preds, this time by their captain. Sharks are outplaying them, they look hungrier. Not looking good for NAS, but lots of time still.
Re: NHL 2015-16 season thread
SJ - STL
PIT - TB
This will be a tough series (all of them are) for the Blues. San Jose can hit and are a gritty team, Blues of Game 7 needs to show up each and every night and run with home ice advantage (which hasn't been an advantage at all).
Tampa Bay is quietly going about business and this series vs Pittsburgh should be a good one.
