I noticed that too, I love the handshake in hockey... especially after a hard fought series like that was. I gained respect for the Blackhawks during this series.tjung0831 wrote:Also should be pointed out how classy the Hawks were in the handshake line. I was damn impressed, I'll say that much. We know Q told the Blues players to get it done and win the cup and that's pretty cliche I guess but I also thought I saw Toews say the same thing in the line and then there was Keith not just hand shaking but also giving them a pat on the chest after the handshake.
Damn that was a helluva a series...the hockey in this next round can only be a disappointment compared to that.

Wow, yawning cage for McGinn to open the score for the Ducks, no dice. ANA is creating more traffic in front of Rinne but they still need Perry-Getzlaf to be better, especially #10 who's getting more chances but is yet to score.
Re: NHL 2015-16 season thread
P. Rinne just stole the show tonight and he was also lucky. Ducks put a lot of pressure on the Preds the last 40 minutes but just couldn't convert. Weber and Josi were great patrolling ANA's top guys. There are going to be changes for sure in this team, B. Boudreau is yet to win a crucial G7.
Re: NHL 2015-16 season thread
Rinne was a beast. I thought the Ducks figured him out once they were piling up goals in games 3-4-5.
I'm still stunned that Perry never got going in the series at all. He had a flash here and there, but never once looked like the threat he usually is. They actually looked closer to the early season Ducks than late season Ducks.
You think Smith missing the middle 3 games had that big of an impact? They had a lot more room to skate and create plays in those games, and in the final 2, seemed like I saw Smith feeding somebody the puck every shift. Sad day to be a Ducks fan.
At least I have the NFL draft tonight!

Your good Fletch, that was Dallas's 1 in a 4-1 series route. Right Danimal.
Its not like Jamie Benn is even fit to be on the ice with a Kane or Toews how dare he.
I mean Chicago are the litmus test you pass that you win the cup.
If i had the money id up my bet to a thousand on them winning the cup.
Do it now you'll get better odds.

I love the confidence fellas.. I'm just not feeling it yet. They need to dominate on Sunday.

Jimmy was obviously being sarcastic, but the blues are the better TEAM. Jamie benn is a star for sure, but I don't trust Dallas especially in goal.MizzouRah wrote:I love the confidence fellas.. I'm just not feeling it yet. They need to dominate on Sunday.

I'm not even worried if the Blue lose game two today and even if they did, I'd feel very confident that this series would be tied at 2 a piece heading back to Dallas for game 5. Once the Blues start smashing that Stars defense into the glass, it will be all over but the crying. We had chances in game one and couldn't bury them and they let the Stars just freewheel through the neutral zone and right into our D zone.MizzouRah wrote:I love the confidence fellas.. It was just nice watching that game and not seeing Kane, Toews, Keith..etc every other shift. Still having freaking nightmares of those guys. Benn just doesn't scare me at all..great player but he's a guy I think the Blues can easily get him off his game.

Awesome start to game 2. Looking like a 5-3 type game. Stl looks like the better team. Keep pushing and don't go into a shell.
Pierre is awesome.

K. Lehtonen has to start making some saves or we'll see Niemi finish the rest of the game. DAL's D is not sharp at all and I am most impressed by the hockey smarts of R. Fabbri, not just in this game but how he's been playing since the Hawks' series.

Stl is lucky as hell to escape with the w. From the time Dallas made it 3-2, they were the better team. I wonder if Elliott was really fit to remain in the game. That shot to the head phased him, and he looked shaky the remainder of the game.
Re: NHL 2015-16 season thread
Yeah, I still think it's a close series. Let some Blues dudes here it's done deal, they'll be in for a shocker.fletcher21 wrote:Stl is lucky as hell to escape with the w. A perfect birthday gift for Backes.
Re: NHL 2015-16 season thread
I agree.. we stopped hitting and Reaves barley played in the 2nd and 3rd periods. He played a good amount in the 1st and that's when we started playing Blues hockey.fletcher21 wrote:Stl is lucky as hell to escape with the w. Pittsburgh in route to taking a 2-1 series lead.
I will say this.. I haven't watched many Capitals games, but I didn't know Ovechkin was such a complete player. I thought he just cherry picked goals.. but that guy plays his butt off and can hit with the best of them.

He used to. Give credit to B. Trotz for teaching him that playing defense is as important as his offensive arsenal. But this Caps version doesn't quit neither as shown in the last minute of the game. M. Murray was big tonight, Fluery who? They may lose Letang though next game, didn't like his elbow.MizzouRah wrote:Pittsburgh in route to taking a 2-1 series lead.

Trotz did a heck of a job then as Ovie can really lay the hit, has killer speed and we all know he can shoot the puck.10spro wrote: He used to. Give credit to B. Crazy ending to the game and yes, Murray was HUGE tonight!

Pitt surprised me. The caps were storming the net during the final 5 minutes. It would have been nice to see some ot, but it was a great win. I hope the series goes 7 games.
The Pitt goalie seemed to have come out of nowhere. Even if fleury was 100%, can you really bench this guy?

Great game going in NY. See-saw battle between Bolts and Isles going into OT as TPA tied it last minute with Bishop pulled.
