Helluva win for Finland vs the Russians in OT. They upset Canada last week in the quarters and they never gave up today. It was an exciting match to watch to round up a great tournament. Their second title in three years, the Finns are coming...

I haven't see a true hockey trade like the Johansen-Seth Jones in awhile. Both players will address their new teams' need just fine.
Re: NHL 2015-16 season thread
Yeah that's a good trade for both teams it seems.10spro wrote:I haven't see a true hockey trade like the Johansen-Seth Jones in awhile. Both players will address their new teams' need just fine.

Blues and Lightning deal possibly getting ready to go down. Blues acquired an AHL dman via the Wings this morning which would seem to indicate that they are moving a dman to Tampa in a trade for Drouin. Anaheim said to be in the running for Drouin as well.

Tough one for the Flyers today. I still like the way Hakstol has them playing. Gotta make the playoffs!

Canucks lose yet another body. This time is captain Henrik. The road trip continues tonight vs the Rangers.
Just short of the AS game it is clear to me that among these four teams will emerge the next Lord Stanley winner. Caps-Bolts in the East, and Kings-Hawks in the west.
Speaking of the AS game, the league should be investigated especially Bettman. In my opinion he orchestrated the trade that sent J. Scott to the Habs last week. For those that are unaware, this is a fans' vote and of course there was enough comedy around to have John Scott named captain for the Western team. The league didn't think it was funny at all, knowing fully well that obviously there are other more deserving options. But when you give the power to the fans, this could happen and they did it for fun in choosing the big guy.
But I see a little conspiracy in the league, political pressure if you will, when John Scott gets traded to MON last week, and now he's sent to the minor. Now is he even going to go to the AS's game? There are people in Habs land that claim they never had any interest in the big guy, but were forced the hand.
Instead of embracing the goofy vote, the league turns the other cheek. Now, before it gets into a big investigation, I wouldn't be surprised if the league goes ahead and welcomes Scott to the As' game.

I know how you feel. Late in the game the depleted 'Nucks give one away to the Rangers allowing them a tie and eventually what's it is now customary for them: Another loss in OT. But I have patience with these young guys, they are learning...Diablo25 wrote:Tough loss in Philly tonight. Leafs score with 7 seconds leftOh well.
Re: NHL 2015-16 season thread
I was shocked that the accidentally on purpose hit that Wideman executed on one of the official went originally unpunished. What was he thinking? News coming out now that Dennis will be suspended indefinitely until a hearing this weekend.

Re: NHL 2015-16 season thread
Big trade in Ontario where a nine players trade took place between the Leafs and Sens. The big elephant is finally gone for the Leafs as Phaneuf adds some toughness to OTT's D. Other names involved were Michalek, Frattin and Cowen, the other playerrs are playing in the minors. With a big contract gone (credit to Lou), Leafs are positioned to go after Stamkos this summer if he doesn't mind sucking in TOR for at least another 3 years.
Speaking of suckage, Canucks should start thinking about trading guys like Hamhuis, Burrows and Vrbata as they won't make the playoffs even though they are in the mix currently. Get some more picks and continue with the rebuild next season.
On the positive side, tonight will be the first time in this season that the team will have all the healthy back on the ice. It took 52 games into the season but we'll see how they play from now on.
