Stunned. Saddened. Privileged to listen to his music and to be exposed to his gift. RIP.
Thinking more this morning about Bowie's sad, untimely passing. I've read how Bowie's various genres, looks and moods influenced countless who followed, such as Madonna and Lady Gaga. But there was a difference with the Thin White Duke. He morphed, shifted and shaped to push boundaries with his art, to satisfy his expansive intellect and curiosity. He didn't do it to reinvent his career or gain more Instagram followers.
A true original.
P.S.: His last record, "Blackstar," is excellent. I listened to it Friday afternoon after its release. A wonderful parting gift.

Was lucky enough to find the Blackstar LP at my local shop last Tuesday - a few days before it was supposed to release. I've been captivated with it ever since, trying to figure out what it all means. After his passing, I think it definitely makes a bit more sense.
An amazing groundbreaking talent. I had the privilege to see him in concert in Tampa, FL. He will be missed and his Blackstar album is his parting gift to his fans.

Rest in peace.
Watch the video for "Lazarus," which features Bowie writhing about mortality while on a hospital bed. He knew the end was coming soon. A really heavy watch this chilly winter morning.

I can not add anything more than what has already been elegantly expressed above. I have his new album Darkstar and find it incredible especially considering his circumstances when writing and recording it.
