PES has much higher Metacritic rating.

So does NBA2k16
Look, EA has all the licensing, kits etc. You got the career mode, online modes, FUT. The Draft modes are cool too. For that price I would dive in unless you got Access and want to wait another 6 months to get it for free on Xbox One. While I slightly preferred the gameplay of PES 16 this year, by no means this game is a turd. The goaltending situation with Konami just ruins the phenomenal gameplay.

With Fifa, you can build your play this year, at least the AI tries to. Unless you play FUT, speed is not an issue. With some key sliders you can avoid the ping pong passes of previous years if you play offline, and have a very realistic game of footie on the highest level like World Cup and Legendary.

Both titles are worth that price alone, although I have yet to see PES come down and they don't even have the latest rosters.

Go for it.

Thankfully I snagged FIFA 16 for $35 during the TRU B1G1 sale. And I was able to snag PES 2016 (PS4) on Amazon for $49 brand new.

fifa is ok this year. if you can get it for 40 i'd do it. the flow of the game has changed this year for the worse. but it's still good enough @ 40 if you need your soccer fix. For some reason, the women's game seem more fun then the regular game. they feel more like last years game.

right now for me fifa is good for only FUT. but that is getting stale as well since they've not changed it the last 3 years.

still trying to find pes for a good price but its hard to get. by the time it's available i may just not be interested any longer in the game.

I must be one of the few people who is loving FIFA 16. I'm not into FUT though. I mostly play career and I love the new additions. Preseason tournaments are fantastic, I like the training, unlimited substitutions in Friendly's and being able to sign free agents outside the transfer window, which are some things that should've been in from the get-go.

Admittedly, I've only played the PES demo, but FIFA is getting it done for me, so I have no reason to switch.

Wow. I disagree with Inuyasha. This is the first time in forever I actually enjoy playing against the CPU in FIFA. It's not all straight line offense like in years past. I like how they actually try and build up the offense and pass the ball back when needed.

Digital version of FIFA on sale for $35.99 and PSN also has a 10% code so I'm tempted to pick it up for $33 or so. FIFA 15 was my favorite sports game last year and I held back on purchasing 16 just because of all the negativity. Surely there is no way I will hate 16 correct? Anyway, think I'm going to purchase here shortly.

I find the FIFA demo and retail game to play differently. The demo featured long passes, cross passing by the CPU on a semi regular basis in the demo. I find that was one of the standout features in this years game. IMO, its been toned down in the retail game, which is a shame.

correct. They patched the retail version which took away from what the demo/release had.

but i've just accepted this years retail copy and am having fun playing it.

Both FIFA and PES have significant, but differing, single-player flaws this year. But FIFA still prevails for me due to the depth of modes, teams, leagues, complete licenses, etc.

I think you will find it the same now on default sliders, if you mess with sliders it will change the way the AI performs.
I think the difference you see and feel is probably in the Teams you play against in the retail version , their tactics differ from the demo teams and for a fifa game you can notice a slight difference in the way teams play this year.

Have played 7 games or so, game is fine. Different results in all 7 games. Game plays very good on world class settings. Its plays like FIFA and that's not a disappointment to me. I do want thank those of you that helped in delaying my purchase though. Pretty happy I got it for $33.

Yeah, a couple of sliders' adjustments on World Cup level and I have no issues with the gameplay. But again I often play PES as well and that's when I tend to still be inclined slightly towards Konami's play this season. But how can you compete with Fifa's licenses. There's this rumor somewhere I read that PES 16 maybe free to play in a couple of more months.

It's too bad that the sliders adjustments can't be touched on FUT which is where my meat of the play is and on some WC tournaments you just have no chance to beating the opponent, unless you get better players.

I will add too my previous comments though about sliders. Having found a set i like its the best playing Fifa ive ever played , sooo realistic.

I was playing the other day and my kid was in the room on his phone of course but it was a couple of minutes unyil he realized i was playing Fifa and not watching a real game, that says a lot to me.

Game is fantastic if you want my opinion and im usually a Pes guy , havnt even bothered with that game for the first time ever and no need Fifa has it all no matter what you want from a game.

Actually with a few slider adjustments, the game might be at it's best on the legendary setting. I'm 1-3 since I upped the difficulty level but the games were very good.

thanks for posting this. I'll go ahead and sell mine then. I have not gone back to PES since I went back to FIFA. Like everyone said, it's hard to beat the licenses and the easily adjustable gameplay. I've even ventured online recently and have had fun games without any cheese. It's the total package.

I have simple sliders that give me fun games.

Human Accel : +5 from default
Human Speed : +5 from default

Difficulty : World Class - you can also start at Pro difficulty level if you're not quite ready for World Class yet.

These are the community sliders from OS ive been following it closely and watching twitches whith test sets these are the best until the new patch comes out for the consoles.

I use Matts in the brackets and also broadcast cam which makes a huge difference in the way the game feels.

I tried those settings and it's a little bit better. I still have that me against the world feeling. Too bad EA didn't include a slider for that. Maybe next year.
