A favor from someone with a Circuit City near them?

Post by pk500 »

Boys:

There are no Circuit City stores in Central New York, so I'm SOL when it comes to browsing the $4.99 budget titles there.

I read in one of these threads where ESPN NHL Hockey (2K4, last winter's game) is included in the sale at $4.99.

If so, can anyone buy me the game at that price and send it to me? I'll pay with PayPal, including shipping, as soon as you get it.

I rented ESPN NHL last night and downloaded the "Improve Scoring" patch, and this game simply kicks major ass now. All of the complaints I had with the game pertained to the robo-goalies. The goalies still now stop almost everything they see -- which is realistic -- but you don't see the ridiculous Hasek-like saves every time there's a one-timer, and you do score on screens more often.

If anyone can help me on this, please PM me.

Thanks!
PK

PK,

I was lucky enough to pick up ESPN NHL 2k4 from CC but it was the last copy there (as of last Saturday). I've been stopping in periodically to see if they have restocked any of the games. If I manage to come across another one I'll pick it up. Even if you get one in the mean time, I'm sure one of the cats on this board would be interested in it for just $5.

PK,

I would but I'm trying to score one for myself. My CC doesn't have it either.

Thanks, boys. Appreciate it. This patch really works wonders, at least for me.

Take care,

yeah, checked 2 cc's in my area, and their selection is pretty bare-bones. an employee was digging into the bin at the same time I was, which pissed me off; he was still on the clock.

PK.....I checked 2 of my local CC's and they both had a very small selection and no ESPN hockey. Just wondering, that scoring patch....is that downloadable content on xbox live? or is it a gameshark thing?

I had given up on this series but bought ESPN for 4.99.I'm using "original6"s roster and goalie edits and the game plays a whole lot better.Having all the historical teams unlocked and named is very cool, too.I believe the edits are the same as flying finn's but i could be wrong. The file is at OS.For anyone w/o Live it can improve the game a bunch.

The latest roster update -- No. 3, I think -- was made available on XBL at the same time as the "Improve Scoring" patch. I'm using both simultaneously.

No, Kaz, nothing good, man. I checked the Plano one at 75 and Park, and the one in Mesquite across from Town East Mall. The vultures had already had their fill, brother. And that was like Wednesday of last week.

There were some sports games, but not many, and not good ones. Like NHL 2k3. That's 2k3 not 2k4. I don't remember too much, because there wasn't anything that struck me. In the end, I picked up a few GBA games for my friend's little girl. Stuff like The Muppets.

I found a copy of NHL PK...but they only had one. I woulda picked up the 2nd copy if one was available. Sorry bro. Gimme a couple days and if it 'still' doesn't fit my fancy, I'll just ship it to ya. Your rental has to be up soon eh?

Yeah, rental is due tomorrow. Thanks for the offer, but I think you'll like it with the new scoring patch!

I'll check some of the stores by my place...the NHL I found was in Phoenix. Now I'm back in Burbank though so I'll hit up the nearest store later tomorrow. Wish me luck. LOL...for PK's sake anyway.

I tried for both of us, PK. No luck. I got my local CC at opening yesterday, and they didn't have anything even worth $5. They had more PS1 games in the bins than Xbox. I really wanted Wakeboarding and ESPN Hockey. Oh well, I can wait. I sure they'll be going on Ebay cheap now :)
