Yeah, he was definitely hesitant in the beginning, but that rush where he split 3 blues and got the shot off shows the speed he has. A co-worker has a son who played in the OHL last year for the Soo Greyhounds, and he told his dad that Mcdavid has 5 gears, and could easily burn everyone if he wanted to.
I think he learned last night NHL players are a bit faster, but as that rush (and the wrap around attempt) shows, once he figures out when he can hit that fifth gear, it will definitely be fun. And everything I've heard says he's just as good with the puck at gear 5 as he is at gear 1.....
I was almost more impressed with Griffin Reinhart last night, i didn't realize he was that big. That's what the OIlers need, more size. The only real crash and bang line there was is the fourth line.
And Talbot played awesome. If that had been Scrivens last night, the game would have been 9-1.......
Are the Islanders going to build a new stadium in LI and they're temporarily playing in Brooklyn? Or is that their new home now? Why not just change the name then to Brookyln Islanders? Probably more marketable.

Chicago is the team to worry about in the division. The wild are solid, but they have no answer for the hawks. St Louis is actually better suited to beating the hawks than the wild are.

Because Brooklyn isn't Long Island.

Home opener = shutout for the Flyers! Hell of a lot better than the drubbing the Panthers gave them the other night. Different night...same team...totally different outcome. Neuverth was awesome in his first start in net. Congrats to Dave Hakstol on his first NHL win
It was weird seeing Kevin Bieksa in a Ducks uniform but it was the right move to ask him to wave his no trade contract. He'll fit perfectly in ANA. Canucks showed some resiliency last night beating in my mind the best team in the league at least on paper, edging them out in the SO after killing a crucial 4 on 3 PP in OT.
Miller was great in goal and the rookies continue to do the job. Back at it tonight against the Queens.
Unbelievable Flyers Rangers game!!! 3rd period, OT and Shootout was some of the best regular season professional hockey I've ever seen. Incredible. You MUST check out the highlights. Gagne and Girioux had SICK shootout goals. The 3 on 3 OT was pure entertainment.
Now get the 10! and tie the record for wins to start the season!
GO HABS GO!
That would be in Lotus land on Tuesday against the Nuckers. Since they can't hold any lead into the third it's possible. And Price will be at home to show off his skills.
