On the flip side, I'm really loving NHL 16 so I can afford to wait for the reviews of FIFA 16 tomorrow.
The ai improvements are still there post patch. It's just harder to see them bec w the faster patch gameplay, the cpu hardly gets the ball.

I also noticed pre patch that semi pro was challenging. It was slower paced overall and felt more tavcticle. Now post patch it's like last year where you can run up and down the pitch at will vs the cpu.

I guess ea listened to their fan base and that's why we have the patch increasing the speed. It's more fun I guess but I was liking the challenge pre patch, although the game felt stale and boring.

Played as Norwich vs man city on pro and made a big difference. Man city had more poesseion than me and played more tactile. But it's still faster than before.

Leaning towards PES 2016. Really like how it plays.

How easy is it to get the kit files?

It's not as easy as last gen. After u get the files you have to manually add the kits/logos/etc one by one to each team. Just bpl teams take over an hour. I'll post tutorial in the pes thread.

trying to decide between the FIFA or Madden XBOX1 bundle. This thread isn't encouraging.

FIFA 16 isn't perfect. But neither is PES 2016, despite the fawning praise heaped on it by reviewers and gamers.

My impressions of PES 2016 are based only on the demo, but I fail to see it as a sim football nirvana. Passes still ping far too quickly around the midfield. There are just as many circus, video game goals in PES 2016 as in FIFA 16, maybe even more. The collision physics in PES 2016 are vastly improved but still not as good as FIFA's. And no one talks about PES' most egregious flaw: A referee who swallows his whistle and keeps his cards in the dressing room. There are NOWHERE near enough fouls in PES.

FIFA is packed with far more licenses and modes than PES. Its gameplay quality is neck and neck with PES. Unless you're sick of EA soccer or really love Konami's Master League, I don't understand why PES 2016 is getting so much more love than FIFA 16.

For what it's worth, I'm loving FIFA 16. It's a noticeable improvement over 15.

As for PES, I've only played the demo.

For anyone that may be wondering. The Interactive World Cup mode is exclusive to Sony.

I'm going back and forth between PES 2016 and FIFA 2016. One day, I'm leaning towards PES and the next it's FIFA. It helps that I can play the demo of PES and the EA Access of FIFA. I'm not in such a rush to make up my mind.

I'll probably hold off and pick up one of the two along with NHL when they go on sale.

It's an online competition to find the best FIFA players in The world. All teams in the game are equally rated. I belive each player is rated at an 85. . This is not a typical world Cup mode where you play through the cup. It's user vs user.

FIFA 16 patch #2, which was available for PC users last week, has arrived for PlayStation 4 users. The Xbox One patch is scheduled to release at a later date.

The update includes general stability improvements and addresses the following items:
Optimized goalkeeper rushing, AI, and positioning.
Improved player wage accuracy in Career Mode.
Addressed referee/kit clashes.
Addressed an exploit in Virtual Pro leaderboards.
Addressed a shot missing the top corner and still being called a goal.
FIFA Trainer button tuning.
Player clipping during intro sequence in certain stadiums.

The update also addresses the following FUT items:
EA SPORTS Football Club shared squads not showing players in FIFA menus.
Relisting Transfer List items not retaining previous price settings.
Error message when attempting to apply a contract consumable.
Away crowd wearing incorrect kit.
Some returning users experiencing an issue when naming their club.
Controller disconnecting in FUT modes.

I wish they would address pass accuracy. There are too many "why did you pass to that guy?" moments for my liking.

Played this a lot today and still not feeling it. I just dont know what's missing. Maybe the new patch will help. Since it was so cheap picked it up, but was waiting on getting PES. If I can find this fun I'll just stick w/ this since I dont need to do any custom team imports etc... Just not having fun at all.

Are you playing online or offline?

I've not enjoyed an offline version of Fifa since the 2010 South Africa WC game. As for 16.. I can't play this offline either.. it just doesn't grab my attention like PES offline does. Online or Head to Head I'm really digging this years game though. With pace no longer being key, actual soccer can be played.

Playing offline. I had fun offline in 15. This year it's just boring.

Wc 2010 was one of the best soccer vg ever.

After playing this and PES 2015 a little today I am surprised at how much more fun I had with PES. FIFA is gorgeous and having all of the authentic stadiums/graphics/kits of the EPL is fantastic. But there are a few things that really stood out.

The AI teammates are worthless on defense. In PES, they at least do a decent job of playing angles and getting in the way of passes. FIFA's just keep collapsing further and further towards the goal, seem to move around randomly, and even move out of the way of what the offense is doing.

You guys have mentioned it already, but FIFA's smoothness took a few steps back this year. Odd. Add in the breakneck speed and pace of the game and it made the field feel more crowded than in PES.

FIFA's CPU attack is pretty basic. Charge forward, cross. Charge forward, shoot. PES still surprises me with some of the passes/finishes the computer figures out.

Maybe it will be time to give PES 2016 a try once I finish out my season in 2015.

Pretty much agree with all that Dave. It's the main reason I haven't purchased either of them. PES is better on the field yet FIFA has all of the stuff the casual soccer fan like myself wants. Dilemma.

PES 16 still suffers from the malady that has plagued the gameplay in the last few editions: It's easy to move the ball through the midfield against the CPU, with the CPU defense becoming the Great Wall of China at the 18. Creates a choppy game experience. Not framerate, but game flow.

Amazon seems to be selling it for $40 now.

Worth it?

PES has much higher Metacritic rating.

So does NBA2k16
