Waste of money. Bad knees, can't rebound, doesn't play defense. Sure, STAT might give you a few nights in which he shows glimpses of his days with Phoenix and his first season in New York. But that won't happen often.

I'd take Stoudemire for the veteran minimum or something slightly more. That's it.

The most interesting story in the NBA today is word is coming from LA that Jordan is starting to regret his decision to commit to Dallas, and Griffin, Paul and Steve Ballmer are wooing him HARD to renege on his commitment and stay in LA. Today or tomorrow is the first day players can sign contracts.

Dallas is really f*cked if Jordan stays in LA, as it understandably stopped looking for big men after his commitment. Ladies and gentlemen, your starting center for the 2015-16 Dallas Mavericks, Cole Aldrich! :)

Then again, the Sixers have 11 centers on their roster. So maybe Sam Hinkie will get a call from Dallas.

NBA Free Agents aren't allowed to sign contracts until 7/9...so he hadn't officially signed yet. All you can do is verbally agree. Clearly he just isn't a man of his word...that's for damn sure.

Mavs supposedly making a strong run at Hibbert -- another head case, who has committed to the Lakers -- after being spurned by Jordan.

Green at the minimum is a steal. Absolute steal. If you're the Suns of the East then clearly there's no championship in Miami's future. ECF is about as far as they can go. :)

Wish the Suns had kept him instead of spending 3 mil on Sonny Weems who's been toiling away in Europe for 3 years. Tho they do say he's the best SG that isn't in the NBA. We'll see about that I guess.

The Miami Sun-Sentinel is reporting that Dragic's contract is a 5 year $85 million and not a 5 year $90 million contract. I say that's a fair market value for Goran. Now if we could get Zoran to play to his potential would be even better.

Actually thought Phoenix might bring him back for cheap, but Sarver left a bad taste in his mouth I'm sure. Soooo...enjoy your Suns, errr Heat.

Hey, I'm a GM in training! :)

I'll always have a soft spot for STAT because he went to New York when no other free agents would. He was a damn good player his first year with the Knicks as the centerpiece of D'Antoni's system.

Yeah that does suck. That's not good news for any BIG. Hope the Sixers can unload him to clueless Phil in NY. :)

Embiid is probably done for good. Supposedly he re-broke the navicular bone in his right foot which had some screws holding it together.

Well that's great. Not good at all. That being said, let's not get ahead of ourselves here.

This is pretty cool. The NBA announced tier pricing for their League Pass

$199 - League Pass
$120 - Team Pass
$7 - Game Pass

Um, seems pretty high.

Why would anyone pay for a Team Pass? Don't most people get pretty much all of the local team's games? Oh I guess if you live outside the market of a team because you moved away or whatever.

But if like most fans, you get your local team with most cable package tiers, that's 80 games. And if you really want to watch a lot of NBA, there's TNT and ESPN/ABC too. So the League Pass would get you a lot of lower-rung games not broadcast nationally.

That's a lot of time commitment though.

Meanwhile, the first third of the season overlaps with the NFL, not to mention the NHL and now a lot of European soccer matches.

Maybe if they prorate the League Pass price around say the end of February, it might get interesting to see some out of market teams vying for playoffs.

Oh and it could be good for cord cutters. Or maybe get your fill of the NBA this upcoming season in case the owners lock out as speculated.

So you've mentioned a bunch of reasons TO get it, after saying it's too expensive, lol.

That's the pricing for all sports these days, for the "league passes" so what's the big deal? I always just split it with a few guys and it makes it cheap. None of the leagues outside the NFL care if you stream on multiple devices at the same time, so just find some buddies, and split it.

Hmm, this could get interesting or ugly depending where your team lands in the NBA season pecking order. The NBA is considering guaranteeing Playoff seeds only for the top 8 teams in each conference and if your team wins the division but is not in the top 8 bracket they are left out of the Playoffs.

All fine with me, but I'd bet that division winners will get auto-invites and then the rest of the bottom of the bracket is done by record.

Statistics of past seasons have shown there is about a 5 percent chance of a division winner not being among the top eight teams in a conference. This is much ado about nothing. A long overdue overhaul of the playoff system.

Hell, I think the NBA should rank the teams 1-16 based on regular-season records and forget about divisions and conferences in the playoffs, period.
