what a bunch of duds for XB Systems this month.

New controller - great. So what do the people w/ the current controller going to do? Will they let us trade it in for the new controller?

No, you keep using the controller you have. If you want the new one, for whatever reason, you go buy it.

Yeah, I don't get the confusion. From what it looks like, the only change is a new port that you can use to plug in regular headphones, that way you don't need the adapter. It does look kind of cool. I might buy one, but really, I like the new Turtle Beach adapter, because they added features to it. So I am not sure how much I would use it.

I think this isn't the real one. I remember they were talking about some kind of circular design for racing games. Guess watch and see.

This game of thrones game is unreal. It's like your in the show and tons of OMG twists.

I'm probably going to buy all of it now. Another great freebie by xbl which I probably would have never even considered trying/buying.

Good point. But it is a damn fun game for the nine people in North America who haven't played it. Plus it's nice to see MS start to offer former A-list titles from big developers like Ubisoft as free games to XB1 Gold customers instead of shovelware like Pool Nation FX.

When the hell will MS offer Ryse as an XBL Gold free game? That was a damn launch title. I know it's a button masher, but the game always has intrigued me. I've never pulled the trigger on a purchase because I figured it would have been a freebie by now. I'll keep waiting.

I bet Forza 5 will be the free XBL Gold game in November or December, serving as a gateway drug to the 14 racing game enthusiasts who haven't bought Forza 6 by that point.

Bring on Ryse and Forza 5 so I can dump the disc.

Yep. I bought Black flag on disc at launch. I haven't played more than a few minutes of it, as it was actually for my daughter and wife, who are huge AC fans. But if I can sell the disc and then have it on the hard drive, I will net a little cash (very little, I suppose) and be more likely to actually play it if I don't have to track the disc down and put it in.

I'm most excited for PvZ, as I only played the trial version of that. Other than the iPad version, it was probably the best version of the game. But I already owned the iOS, WP8, and OS X versions, and passed on it. But if it goes BC, I will probably play a ton of it on the XB1.

Just announced all Xbox 360 Games with gold will launch with Backwards compatibility for the XB1. Essentially doubling the free games.

Super news, because the Games with Gold freebies for XB1 have been almost complete garbage. I love and appreciate free, but the folks in Redmond simply empty the trash on XB1 consumers every Tuesday.

Microsfoft is actually killing this press conference at Gamescon. Crack Down 3, chat pad, all the windows 10 stuff etc. Lots of little thing that add up to a really powerful ecosystem. Scalebound looked awesome as did several other titles. Ark was a big get, Cities Skylines etc. Title with cross buy and cross play between XB1 and Windows 10, I'm impressed so far.

It's even more impressive when you consider that this press conference was essentially just Part II of their E3 conference, because they didn't have time for everything there.

What really blew me away was the Quantum Break gameplay. That looked far better and more interesting than previous reveals.

That chatpad was also a pretty sly way of introducing more ways to access the UI features without Kinect. Suddenly, with a chatpad, you have record and screenshot button, and the ability to easily add in more stuff.

Was really glad to see that ReCore is a 2016 title. They have a pretty nice lineup for next year already in place with Scalebound, Quantum Break, Crackdown 3, and ReCore. Combine that with the incoming deluge of 360 titles, several of which have been or will be free Games with Gold titles, and the platform is looking strong enough to lure the 360 holdouts to remain with Xbox instead of moving to Sony.

We'll see if all of this has any effect.

F*ck. Yes. Thanks for the tip. I'm not an RPG dude at all, but I really enjoyed my EA Access demo weekend with this game about two months ago.

I played Tomb Raider on the PS3, but interested to try it out again with the graphic enhancements. Really fun game for anyone who hasn't played it already.
