Sure everyone is making fun of this now, but who'll be laughing when Sepp buys himself a Golden Globe and makes himself the darling of award season?

Congratz to the Serbia under 20 kids for beating Brazil in the finals. The keeper had some big saves and everyone knew how tough the SA team was. Despite the poor ball possession during the game, they did it with grit and heart beating the offside trap perfectly for the winner. They had some luck too which is part of the game.

Pereira will be a joy to watch for ManU fans.

That was one entertaining semis between Germany and team USA in the WWC. I thought overall the Americans created the better chances and deserved the win as an early missed PK in favor of the Germans could have changed the outcome but the pace of my favorite player Alex Morgan was just too much for the Germans the entire match.

They should meet Japan another team with good pace that's been cruising in the tournament.

However the match of the day goes to Argentina for the jogo bonito vs Paraguay in a 6-1 drilling for the Albicelestes as they'll meet Chile in the finals of the Copa America.

USA played their best game for sure, going to the 4-3-3 worked well for them.

They were lucky though.. I thought that was a red card on Johnston. The missed PK was a shot of adrenalin for the US though and they poured it on.

As a nation, England has historically set an incredibly high bar when it comes to footballing calamity, but even by our standards, that was quite something.

I feel so bad for that player, the look on my 12 year old daughters face when it happened was shock and sadness.

Most of the game was difficult to watch. The USA/Germany match featured exceptionally good play by both teams. Japan/England was very sloppy. Even without the own goal at the end, England played well below even a moderately short bar.

Sport can be very cruel. England played so well, had the defending world champs on the ropes.

I admired Bassett's initial defiance after the goal. She clearly said "F*CK OFF!" when she looked at the ref signaling goal after the play.

Blighty should be proud of its girls tonight. No shame.

Oh well moving on, nothing to see here, Its England :D

They should be proud but i doubt they where going to get even close to the U.S. in the final.

I hate seeing a finals decided by penalties but after playing 30 minutes of ET and unable to settle the difference, Chile is the new Copa America champions defeating Argentina in PK's. They defended very well thourought the match, Vidal was a the engine for them and Alexis showed his speed.

I thought you don't watch women's soccer. They surely played their best game yet of the tournament. Well prepared for the finals, took the pace off from Japan's technical game and every attack in the first half had some poison in it. Especially from set plays. Kinda reminded me of the dismantling of Brazil at the hands of the Germans last year.

Carli Loyd's midfield strike was outstanding. I wasn't sold on their performance especially the first three games but they kept on improving since. Well deserved.

That was cool. Had to be the quickest hat trick ever? No? ....The rest of the game had me playing FIFA 15 thanks to EA access.

It must be said....Gratz USA.

I think that says a lot about the US and soccer or the lack of a future tween the two?

On the other hand at this current rate of political correctness we are only a few short decades away from the Premier league being the dominant sports league in the US. Which wouldn't be so bad if I were to live long enough to see it. The football I mean not the other...

I guess it was also the highest rated sporting event in the US since the NCAA men's final, so beating out NBA and NHL finals, Masters, US Open, Champions League final, etc. Of course the amazing stat is that as large a share the game got, it was still only about 25% of what the Super Bowl had.
