Believe it or not I've never played a Battlefront before. This must change...quickly.

Nothing against the upcoming Star Wars movies, but this seems to capture my imagination on a whole other level.

I can't even imagine that's anything in-game. If I'm wrong, it will be the happiest wrong in my life, but I just can't see half of what was in that trailer being something you'd see in-game. They just recreated famous scenes from the movie and added some twists to most of it, from what I saw.

It still looks incredibly pretty, of course. Getting closer to that photo-realism in CGI, which is impressive in itself.

Well the trailer says in game footage and I was watching the live stream from the fanfest going on and the devs said it was all in game footage.

Not like any game developer has ever lied before but that is what they are saying.

Right, and didn't the same crew do the same thing with Battlfield originally, with this insane "in game footage" of guys storming a building, going through a warzone, etc...and then the game comes out and the resolution is lower, it looks nothing like that original shot? That's what my gut tells me is going on here.

I'm sure it will be gorgeous, but I can't imagine it will actually be like that in real-time during game play.

You're correct my mistake the video does say that but in the live stream they say in-game. Apparently there is a Alpha demo, very scripted but the graphics look incredible. I'm pretty sure Gamespot has a piece on it.

Again if I had a nickle for every time EA claimed it was in-game footage and we got something else well... However I think the graphics will look pretty close, I don't expect those camera angles however.

I'm with Brando btw give me a Battlefield engine with Star Wars and I'm sold.

EDIT: Just spoke to a friend who is at this celebration. I don't think we will see any game play videos from the scripted Alpha they have on hand. Apparently it is set up in some kid of room set up like the bridge of Ackbars ship and they are watching for people with phones trying to capture video. He has not been inside it yet to give me any impressions but I guess it is the same demo over and over.
