Finally out for the PS4...$17.99 for PS Plus. Been waiting for it for a little while so it was an easy purchase for me today. It's a top down dual stick shooter...kind of a Diablo/halo spartan assault gameplay wise but has kind of a Destiny feel in the look of the characters. I've only played through the training mission so far but I really like what I see.
Also Magicka2 is coming out for PS4 2nd quarter...same developer. Looks like a day one purchase for me as well.

It's great...decent upgrade system and it has fun factor which is always important and for $17.99(psplus) you can't really beat it. I haven't had a chance to devote a lot of time to it yet but plan to play co op with both my sons friday night.
I'm actually looking more forward to Magicka2 which is more my style and after playing Helldivers, I already know I will love that as well.

I see it's described as a co-op top-down shooter, but anyone know how it is solo? Worth the while at all?

It has a solo campaign but this game was definitely designed to be multiplayer co-op. I've completed the first couple of missions on solo but that's not really enough to give a fair assessment. From the videos I've watched when researching, it looks like it gets pretty intense so I'm thinking that co-op is probably a necessity.

This game is a real blast to play, both with my sons in local co-op and with randoms online. Hopefully this holds up, but the random community has been GREAT, lacking griefers and the like, which is amazing in this game because of the high level of co-operation needed.

I'm only at the 'Hard' level of missions, but things are getting intense.

Would NOT get for solo only. You can solo some early planets which works well for getting a feel of the various weapons, power-ups, etc, but the soul of the game is facing the hordes in co-op play.

This game has been fantastically fun! HIGHLY recommended for those with a PS4 who want a heavy dose of starship troopers-like bug blasting. Requires good teamwork, skillful use of weapons and upgrades, and lots of tense blasting!

Would definitely make time for a dsp squad!

So with the online co-op is everyone confined to one screen. I assume in local co-op that is the case but I'm just wondering if it has that limitation online.

Yep, no going off on your own...the screen stays centered around the group.

It's really odd to me how good the random community has been in this particular game. No griefing...folks working really well together and to save player lives.

I'm probably just in a lucky streak.
