What is not pretty awesome is the lag. It's like my connection just finished Thanksgiving dinner. And it's definitely the new maps, because if I play the original BF4 maps, they are fine. I am hoping that it's just a new DLC issue, but then I remember that this is only available to premium members and that this laggy shitshow isn't even open to the public yet.
This would be one of my favorite games ever if it wasn't held together with gum and tape.
At least you can see the maps. Naval Strike got delayed for XB1. PC was also delayed.
Still, this is my favorite FPS by far. I've been playing since BF 1942. I hope they make WW2 Battlefield game for next gen.
Naval Strike became available on XB1 late last week.
My initial impressions of the new Carrier Assault mode were not good. The first few matches I got placed on teams suffering lopsided losses while trying learn the maps and figure out the game. Once I got past the quick learning curve and had some even and winning matches things got much, much better.
Carrier Assault is a mix of Conquest and Rush. Opposing teams start from their respective aircraft carriers, entering the battle by ship (mostly) and air to reach the conquest control points. A quick dose of small craft naval warfare is followed by an infantry conquest battle. By controlling the conquest points (each representing naval artillary) you start damaging the opposing carrier. After about 10 minutes one (or both) carriers is breached and can be assulted in a mini-Rush mode.
This is where you have some choices. Once your carrier is breached do you immediately get to your carrier and go into Rush defend mode or continue the Conquest battle to breach the other carrier? Likewise, if you breach the enemy carrier you can go straight to Rush attack. Or it can be worthwhile to keep fighting for the Conquest points to keep your carrier secure.
The whole round lasts about 15 minutes. The maps are very nice as usual. At the moment this is my new favorite BF game mode.
Like Brando, I am getting some lag. Slight though in about 1 out of 4 games. On XB1 there is an audio glitch where you don't get any sound effects for the first 30 seconds of the game. Stealth naval assault.
I didn't play BF4 this weekend, but I was getting lag in every match through Friday of last week (just playing Conquest on the new maps). The only variation was how bad the lag was.
High performance server upgrade took effect and I noticed a big difference last night on the Naval Strike maps. No rubberbanding at all. In fact it was the smoothest BF4 gameplay I've had since launch. It felt like a new game.

I hadn't played for a couple of weeks until the other night and I noticed it too. Only issue I had was occasional lag with the guns in the attack boats, but that happens on all the maps.
The Naval Strike maps are really cool, too, so I'm glad they fixed this.
Dragon's Teeth is an infantry focused expansion pack with urban all-out war in dense Asian Pacific cities. Available on July 15 for Battlefield 4 Premium members and July 29 for all.

Squad join menu uses base maps which everyone has.
How about Wednesday night around 10pm?
I would LOVE to, but Wednesdays aren't great for me. Prayer Night with my buddies, in which we go to a local bar, have a few beers, watch sports and city on the deck and smoke cigars.

If you bought BF4 Premium the final DLC is out today. Otherwise its for sale in 2 weeks. Great timing! But I will have to carve out some time to play the new maps.
Gameplay video shows some of the new weapons and vehicles. Second video gives a better overview of the 4 new maps.
I got your invite last night during a ferocious game of Frontier Defense in Titanfall that I didn't want to leave. I headed to BF4 once that game ended, but you already had moved on to another game.
Sorry. Again soon!

Had no issues over the weekend. Thanks Hardline beta for getting me back to BF4. I'll be playing more this week. If anyone wants a game, just say when.
And what's the deal on a sale for Premium, haven't seen a good sale yet and I'll be damned if I'm paying $50.
XB1 here.
There was an Xbox Live deal for Premium for $20 about three weeks ago, right before the terrible Hardline beta was released. I resisted buying Premium for that great price because I figured I would like Hardline. But that beta sucked worse than a Bangkok whore, and I'm still kicking myself for not grabbing the Premium content for $20.
