Never even attempted to play MUT. I despise the cash grab, but I hear you. Football is football, and Madden 15 is the best there is, IMO. I'm always down for games of hockey or football. It's damn near a sickness.

I could make cuts on the PS4 I just could't accomplish on the XB1. As a running back I could do near impossible moves on the PS4 and as a DL I would have a hard time getting off blocks like they claimed was new. On the XB1 I can get off blocks, so can the cpu. My guys can't cut or juke through holes as fast. I think this slight speed difference is actually allowing more animations to play out, or so goes my theory.
Surprised that you had difficulty getting DLs off blocks in the PS4 version. That was practically a money play for me, especially with the LE against the RT and the DTs. I broke the NFL single-season sack record with Lance Houston in my first season, and had another 20 sack season with him in year 2. Stephan Paea was also a QB killer for me. The only one who had some difficulty was Jared Allen, but Madden has always made it harder for the RE to beat the LT.

Madden was entertaining, but after spending time with NBA 2k, it's sad how much this series still lags behind other games in terms of presentation, polish, and AI considering that EA has the resources to make it a really great game.

It is a cash grab, and I have spent money on it. All I can say is that I have enjoyed MUT sufficiently for the money I've spent. But you can play without spending a dime, and build your team up from the hundreds of solo challenges it provides. You never even have to play online. It is playing online that drive the desire to upgrade faster.

We should play a pick-up game sometime. I'm curious how my skills match-up. I've improved, and completing all of the strategy tutorials helps a lot. but I have a long ways to go to really learn how to use all of the tools at the right time. I have my go to adjustments that work for me most of the time, but I've sure I can improve.

Sure, any time. There's so much thrown at you in that game, but the tutorials will probably have given you most of what you need to know regardless. Anything can be beaten, it's not like a good player is unbeatable. That's what I find so fun. You can poke and prod around looking for a chink in the armor, and there's always at least one. It depends on what plays the guy calls on offense and defense and finding that tendency.

It's as much poker as it is chess. If somebody has a tell, you can exploit it this year.

Getting off blocks and making sacks are 2 different things. In the PS4 you just button mashed and eventually got around an End. I'm talking about being engaged and steering the Ol and then getting off the block to stop the run. It's really hard to do it justice, seeing is believing. Also I'm not using default sliders, there is a fantastic slider set out there that when you read it makes no sense but works unbelievably.

As for presentation it's good enough for me. The presentation in NBA2k and the show is nice but gets in the way of playing. If I want presentation I will watch a game, all I need in game is relevant information on game and season stats, something Madden isn't that great at but is getting better.

There are drills in the tutorial section that specifically teach you how to disengage a block and make a tackle against the run. It's definitely tougher than getting disengaged and pursuing the QB.

I wish there was a presentation option that would let me just mute Phil Simms, but keep Al Michaels' play by play. I like to have info, but being told, "It is better to be ahead than behind," and other idioticly obvious crap got annoying really quick.

But yeah, overall it is fine. NBA 2K is the cream right now, though. But before wanting too many changes, look at how awful the new announcers in NHL 15 are. They are great in real life, but painful in the game. I would take Gary Thorne and his outdated commentary over Emrick.

My MUT team overall is at 86 if I decide to ground my game which I prefer and drops a bit if I change the style. Had no idea that coaches played a big plus in the team rating so maybe I'll start searching for a J. Gibbs card maybe. I agree that those tutorials are helpful and should dig into it, but realistically I just go with my general instincts of playing with the typical Madden controls over the years.

MUT was playable this year especially offline. they made enough modes and the qtr lengths short.

As for colors, I find that most cross platform games this gen, the ps4 actually has richer colors than it's XBO counterpart. Totally opposite from last gen.

Basic coaches are a +5 for one style. I'm not sure what Gold coach is, but an Elite coach is +25. And some will contribute to more than one styles. Most of those have both of their styles on one side of the ball, so you could create a multifaceted offense and get points for both, but it does leave the other side of the ball vulnerable.

Madden 15 is definitely a step up graphics wise from last years game. The mini games in the skills trainer is pretty fun too.
