So Wilson was back in shotgun and he was staring at the WR from the snap.

At least do it from under center so the Pats have to worry about the run in that situation.

Why did they send in 3 WRs on 2nd and goal from the 1 in the first place?
Because Carroll admitted that he was going to pass on second and goal all along and if that failed then run the ball again on third and possibly fourth down working the clock. He said so during the press conference, he took the blame for the team and I still think he made a huge mistake. Yeah, you could argue that Wilson kind of teleported that pass.

He wanted to work the clock but at that point it was under a minute?

As Steve Young pointed out, if you don't get the defense you're expecting, use a time out because you're not going to need them after you score.

Of course, when you lose the SB this way, you're going to be second-guessed for a long time, even after the intense questioning in the aftermath of the game.

He's going to answer questions about this for years to come unless he wins like 2 or 3 more and becomes one of the winningest coaches in history.

sucks to lose this way for sure for the fans.

but like Danimal said [I CAN'T BELIEVE I AM AGREEING WITH DANIMAL ABOUT ANYTHING !!!] but the Hawks team sort of made the neutral fan root for the Pats down the stretch. I think most of America pretty much feels the same way.

I dont know if I would take what Carroll is saying tonight with any grain of salt. Guy is shell shocked and probably not thinking straight. Trent Dilfer on ESPN is saying he's covering for someone. I guess more for the talking heads to discuss all day tomorrow.

I never seen Brady celebrate like a little kid jumping up and down like that. He knew they got away with one. Just unreal. 10 years between titles doesn't seem like it. Seems like the Pats one one in the last 10 years.

For the Hawks - This is a type of loss that can unravel a team. Let's see how the Hawks get it together next year. I am surprised how slow their offense was the last 2 games.

Best text I got tonight from my sister. As my sibs are younger I trained them to be Rams fans....

"I swear this was the first time since Warner and the Rams that Ive wanted to throw the tv out the window.

No lie "

After listening to the media take the last hour you gotta love " real" people.

They crazy!

Supposedly Bevell criticized Lockette the WR for not going after the ball as aggressively as he could have.

There are rumors that Seattle were going to give Lynch a big extension.

Really. Wasn't the rumor they were going to release him?

I bet that bum Kapernick is enjoying it tonight. He probably loved Katy Perry since that's his favorite song. He's suppose to be training in the offseason with Kurt Warner. Let's see how that goes. He's too full of himself right now to get advice from anyone.

Yeah, he was given an offer today. I expect him to sign it but the dude that deserves all the praise is Russell Wilson. Give him all the $$$ he deserves and lock him up for the next 10 years.

Going back to whether Pete thought whether his team was matched up properly or not on second and goal.
Does it really matter when you have the best RB in the league with one yard to go?

Just saw Irvin on NFL network. He's like he was on the .5 yard line, and we called a slant. Dont know what happened. interesting.

The "best" talk is all indicative of short memory.

Lynch had the highest number of yards after contact this year but does that make him better than Peterson? He's certainly been one of the best players in the playoffs this year. Certainly he's at least the second most important player on that offense, if not the whole team and they should have run him 4 times.

A couple of weeks ago, Bennett was talking about the best defense ever or in the SB era.

Maybe they should let history judge the "best."

Yes, what a night. Still very strange SB overall. Just didn't feel like a super bowl for some reason. Maybe it was the way the teams played , not sure. Maybe it was the telecast, no idea. Just felt more like a game from Week 5 or Week 6.

But congrats to the Pats!

Well..... Downton Abbey is about to start. Back in a few hours.

Like everyone else, I don't get the playcall by Pete Carroll there, but it was compounded by Wilson making a bad throw. He put that in a perfect place for a pick instead of where his receiver could put himself between the ball and the DB.

I also didn't have a dog in this hunt, as I think both of these teams are terrible to root for, so I was glad that I got an entertaining game out of it. However, it was worth a Pats victory to see happy meathead Gronk after the game. I suspect he impregnates 2-4 women this evening.

Wow! I'm not sure what to say about that, because I'd pay good money to watch those two teams go at it any time. That was a pretty much everything I could ask for from a football game. Both teams left it out there. Lots of hard hits. A few mistakes, but certainly not sloppy. Nice contrasting tactics and tons of great players and storylines.

This...EXACTLY. When you have a D9 bulldozer in the backfield, you RUN THE EFFING BALL from a yard out. He had just made a 5 yard run on first down to put it at the one.....

There is no excuse for that.

They were not going to be stopping the run.

and even if you must pass why wouldnt you have some kind of fake run or at least a pass run option roll? Leaving the defense no doubt that its a pass is adding to the stupidity.

Worst play call ever on all levels.

Wow dude lay off the drinks, I don't like the way Sherman acts so glad he lost simple matter of different opinion. My joy ended about 5 minutes after the game.

Also pretty ironic statement about empty victories because you're rotting for Seattle simply because you feel cheated about a superbowl which is what 13 years old.
