Any game that gives us gems like this: the face of a punter when throwing a TD pass in the NFC Championship game...is golden.

The look of sheer terror is epic.

Reports are Fangio from Sf is going to land as the Bears new D coordinator. If so nice get in my opinion. Today is amusing on talk radio listening to all the meat heads who are mad that Fox said they were going to make things right with Urlacher.

I always thought that SNL skit was fictional but it is so spot on after listening to these people all day.

I'm just happy, like all those morons. I'm thrilled to return to the "smash mouth Bears football" that has garnered us all of these Super Bowl trophies over the last 35 years.

Fangio is great. Good pickup by the bears. He should've got the 9ers hc job but they went for a yes man.

Agree the monsters of the midway crap is lame. That worked in 63 but not now. Da bears skit us real and was real since pope ditka. Remember when the bears started out like 8-0 w grossman 'da bear' fans were seriously talking 16-0.

Man....at some point you have the marvel at the ingenuity. If it's true (which it seems so) - that's f@cking amazing. Who thinks of this? Is there a precedent for teams underinflating balls or was this some serendipitous thing they discovered?

I actually don't mind the Pats and Hoodie/Emperor Palpatine and as a casual fan of the sport I almost feel this makes me like them more.

I honestly can't wait to see what they think of next!

Now that you mention it:

Thanks for the link!

Aww man....now I'm not as impressed since it's been done before. Boo 'urns.

Also, $7500 to tamper (Tampa?) with balls at Super Bowl seems really cheap.

I am loving this hysteria, especially because I think that the balls had about a .001% impact on the outcome of the game.

I want Goodell to go full metal nutso on this. He should order a replay and then sell the rights to ESPN to broadcast a prime time live auction (conducted by Kim Kardashian) for the rights to broadcast the game. The auction alone would generate millions and the insanity around the game itself would end life as we know it. :)

I actually disagree with that statement. An under inflated ball in the rain, is MUCH easier to grip than a fully inflated one. So it probably DID have an impact. Not a 38 point impact or anything but it certainly wasn't .001%.

And yes it would be hilarious if Goodell went nuts on it...making a way bigger deal about this than dudes dying or beating the sh*t out of their wives.

Plus who is to say they weren't using deflated balls throughout the season helping them on their way to the number 1 seed in the AFC?

That's why I said "outcome" and not individual plays etc. I'm sure it made a difference here or there, but I don't think it made a 3-point difference, much less a 30-point one.

Look, it is so indefensibly ludicrous that the NFL doesn't have one set of footballs for both teams that anything else is just noise. There are dozens of former players out there today disclosing the various ways they messed with the balls.

Either blow this thing up or fine them and get on with life.

Who knows? But it definitely wouldn't have altered the game vs the Colts. They were dominant. Still, the league will try to focus on the SB and probably give them a little slap fine after all this is over with, maybe a draft pick. They would look more stupid than they are already by admitting now that they missed the latest trickery by the Pats.

That is the question. How long have they been doing it?

The point is...IT IS NOT about the out come of that game its about the man himself.

How much was he fined for spygate?

This one is kind of hard to pin on him. It's more likely Brady told the equipment manager to do it and it is done all over the place. If anything the Pats make some guy making no money the scapegoat here and fire him. That is where I see this going.

This is from the front page story on ESPN:

"Sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Wednesday that the Colts had concerns about underinflated balls after their regular-season game against the visiting Patriots on Nov. 16.

During that game, Colts safety Mike Adams twice intercepted Tom Brady and gave the balls to the Colts' equipment manager to save -- and both times there were concerns about the balls feeling underinflated, sources told Schefter."

Yeah, i'm with you on that especially when the NFL wants all players to conform to uniform/team parity. The NFL should just make it where the officials inflate and issue the footballs during each game and that's it.

Yes it is silly that the league doesnt control the footballs.

The sad fact of Deflategate: Media and fan histrionics will overshadow the buildup for what should be a hell of a competitive Super Bowl.

Fine the Patriots. Take draft picks. And then let's get on with the game. My buddy has the ideal solution: The NFL should regulate, provide and oversee all of the balls for every game. It shouldn't be either team's responsibility.

Once that's fixed, then attention can turn to the biggest conflict of interest in sports: Boxing promoters, not sanctioning bodies or state commissions, hiring judges for fights. :)

Maybe bellichek has some weird habit/addiction to cheat even if he doesn't have to. Like bill Cosby having the need to drug women.
