Great post.

Not watching baseball the way I used to mostly due to the the steroid freaks and their enablers...... bud selig, the baseball writers and the network scum like joe buck. I am glad they seem to have cleaned it up but its too late for me. I grew up thinking numbers like 755, 714 and 61.

You nailed it man.
Yes you did nail it, (well except about Joe Buck :D). Speaking of steroid freaks, I almost didn't recognize Barry Bonds when he came out on the field at SF, grinning like Halloween skeleton. Those Giants fans are idiots, celebrating him like they do. It's still 755, 714, and 61 for me.

I'm about the biggest baseball fan there is, but haven't had a stomach to watch any of the WS after the Cards fell flat on their face. I will say go Royals, 29 years is a long time for any fans to suffer.
Right, like Cards fans never celebrate Mark McGwire.

Cardinals fans haven't celebrated Mark McGwire since 2001, meanwhile Giants fans continue to gloryhole Bonds to this day and his ridiculous 'roided "record" is posted on the outfield wall at AT&T park.

Get back to me when JP hits HR 756 or when BB "admits" to juicing. Both will never happen.

They applauded him because he finally admitted to what he did. The fools are the Giants fans who still applaud the fraud.

So you think Giants fans think Barry is innocent? You think they don't think of Bonds the same way Cards think of McGwire? I mean the cards ACTUALLY HIRED the cheater McGwire! Giants did not! now if you want to compare cheaters, McGwire cheated his whole career as a rookie. Bonds did not until the end of his career. But the biggest cheater in baseball history gets hired by the Cards!

I must have missed the admission from McGwire. Was in in front of that congressional commitee? I don't think so.

You did miss it. He confessed to everything prior to the start of his first season. Barry hasn't said a single word other than no comment. Just saying. That said, does anyone want to hire barry? It doesn't seem like it (nor does he have desire to work).

Wow! That does not at all reflect the reality that I see from the Cards fans whom I see, or in some unfortunate circumstances those whom I know. Not by a long shot.

I'd like to see John Hart take over...and groom the youngster, Coppollela.
At least they did what I wanted them to do Vinny. :) Perfect offseason so far.

Lets go Huddy! As much as I don't want to see the Giants win another series, I really want it for my boy Hudson. Near as I can tell, one of the best guys in baseball.

GIANTS! OMG 3/5 YEARS! LOL! MADISON BUMGARDNER. THEY GOT RENAME WS TROPHIES AFTER HIM!

Giants small ball wins it again. That's their thing. Just get into the playoffs, and they got the best shot to win. Unreal.

KC was great too. I thought they'd win this in bot 9th coming in. Seemed unconvicable this year they would lose. But what a terrific team. It's like the mirror image of the giants.

Giants 3 rings in 5 years - Cubs going on year 106, pathetic. Giants amazing. Post game interviews it's like ho-hum for them. Been there done that i guess LOL

A great ending for a hard fought WS. Bumgarner was just a stud in this series. I also thought that the Royals would get to him eventually when Perez and Blanco misjudged the ball but overall Madison was just untouchable. Dude didn't look like he just had a two day break.

Gratz to SFO.

Oh good god.

Jason Heyward and Jordan Walden to St. Louis for Shelby Miller and some dude named Jenkins I've never heard of.

Ugh.

After the two min. of realizing my favorite player since Andruw Jones is now gone...it seems like a damn good trade (oh and I looked up Tyrell Jenkins, lol). Mid rotation guy w/ 4 years of control and a SP prospect w/ upside for a guy the Braves were going to lose next year anyway since he'll be a Free Agent. It's not as horrible as I thought.

I think it's a good deal for both teams. Miller is a number 2 and like you said, he's under control for a while. Wasn't a big fan of his rookie year, but he really pitched well last season. Jenkins is supposed to be the real deal and I'm not too happy he was part of the deal.

Heyward very well could be a 1 year rental as I'm sure he'll test free agency being a Boras client. Hopefully he falls in love with St. Louis though. We defintiely needed more power in the lineup and him batting in the middle of the lineup should provide him some opportunities to drive in some runs.

It also looks like Walden will replace Neshek. Walden looks like a beast of a pitcher for the bullpen.

Walden, when healthy, is awesome. Problem is...it's rare. He's always got something wrong with him nagging.

As for power...have you seen Heyward's power numbers? I hope THAT isn't what you're expecting. Probably the best defensive outfielder in the league...and gets on base at a decent clip, but his power numbers have gone down each year. Hopefully a chance of scenery can get his power stroke back because damn I love that guy. He's a great clubhouse guy and ALWAYS plays the game right...so worst case, you get an average hitter with great defense and great intangibles.

Word is Jenkins had a ridiculously good fall league and everyone's REALLY high on him. So that makes me pretty excited at least. Miller is fine, fitting in w/ Teheren, Minor and Wood.

I LOVE the trade.. I don't think Miller is a #2, but he's a decent pitcher. Heyward in RF.. THANK YOU, no more of that strikeout king Grichuk.

A little too steep in terms of contract and money for a 32 year old catcher for my taste, but Blue Jays sign Russell Martin to call the shots behind the plate. I guess he'll be a solid defensive catcher and calming influence to a young pitching staff ready to take over next season.

I'm very pleased that the Cubs didn't end up signing him. I have no idea how accurate the media reports were, but that was a puzzling prospect in my eyes. Good player, but too old and limited for that kind of dough.
