Dragon Age: Inquisition

Post by TCrouch »

So the Trial went live last night on EA Access, and I spent a couple of hours with it this morning. This and Shadow of Mordor were pretty much my two most anticipated titles this year. From the opening moment I started playing this game, it was clear to me Bioware got it right. It's much, much closer to Dragon Age Origins than it was to DA2. Combat is faster, but sort of straddles a line in between DAO and DA2. Some of the quest content was already engaging, watching how people reacted differently to me in the span of an hour. I absolutely cannot wait to exhaust my trial limit, as I'm playing a character I wouldn't have otherwise even tried (to avoid redoing all of the same exact dialog and combat options that I'll do on PS4 next week).

Anyway, the biggest point was that the Trial is active now. 46.1GB install. 8O

Why do you have to search for these games? They should be in the vault but they never are.

Anyway... thanks! Will play this as soon as it downloads!

It's not a vault game. Those are the freebies, older games.

You just have to go into EA Access and go to the Games tab, and you get the trials that way.

HAHA.. I'm such a goober! I had it on "vault games" instead of "all games". Thanks!

To those who have looked more into this, I am wondering if the Premiun version seems worth it at all. It looks to me like it only includes some special gear/mounts and such, and no bundled-in or discounts on additional content. Am I correct? Does the special year seem worth it at all? Seems like a lamer than usual Premium edition. Just not sure. The Blood Dragon Armor was nice in DA:O but I never used it in Mass Effect, for example.

Guess now is a good time as ever to purchase EA Access. Not sure if this a game that'll interest me, but it's nice having that 6 hours to make a decision.

Are most going XB1?

Reviews are stellar and a week early which is always a good sign. However pretty much all of them say the multiplayer isn't much. I was going to go PC but I might go console if enough people buy it to play multiplayer.

Plus you get Battlefield 4, Need For Speed Rivals, NBA Live 14, Madden 25, FIFA 14, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare and Peggle 2 in the Vault to play as much and as long as you want.

EA Access is the Gaming Deal of the Year for me. No question.

My 2 copies are on PS4. I doubt this will be a multiplayer focused game around here.

My GTA5 is up in the air, though. I'm betting I end up with the XB1 version.

That is such a vague question. It's an rpg so yes in that aspect. It's open world but more in a zone like fashion. You gather a party, well in this case of this game a lot more than a party. You can pause battles an issue commands to your party of play it as an action combat type game.

Zones are huge, reviews I've read the author has put in 80 hours and only explored 2 zones fully. Also biggest difference will be in the story aspect, Bioware knows how to create an intricate story. I loved Skyrim but the story was weak.

Don't know if that helps but besides Witcher 3 this is the only rpg on my radar.

8O Gorgeous

I beat the first, but not the second. I'm thinking I'll hold off until I can spare the time to play through that one while I decide whether to go XB1 or PS4, but it looks like this is not to be missed.

This style of game isn't my cup of tea but since I have EA Access I downloaded it. It's definitely beautiful. Cut scenes and story are pretty damn nice. Any of you guys that like this genre will love this game.

PC version unlocks at 11pm CT, so I would bet anyone who did the Digital download route will be able to unlock at whatever time 11pm ET is in your area. Super excited to play this tonight.
